My stay was lovely - A few things in the room were broken, but the view was great. The people were very nice, kind, and helpful. The restaurant was great. The location is perfect for a stay in Boston without the Boston crowdedness.

Enjoyed the WA in the very quaint area of Winthrop just outside Boston

Bathroom vanity only had 2 of 5 light bulbs working.
Room needs updates.

My family and I had a lovely one night stay here. We stayed on the 3rd floor and it was pretty quiet the entire time. The room smelled great and was very clean. We had a nice view of the ocean too. The bed was very comfortable for both my husband and I. Our daughter slept on the bed from the sofa and felt comfortable also. Overall, a great place to stay and would like to come back someday.

Wonderful old school vibe! Great food and drinks! Very friendly! Across from beach in cool neighborhood!

The first night we stayed there we had a great room on the corner that was nicely decorated and had a view of the water. When we came back a few days later we had a different room and it was not so nice. The bed was too soft. The curtains were falling off the rod and it was not decorated very nice. Dark and old furnishings and furniture and it was cramped.

Nice place to stay with a short trip to the airport. Neighborhood is walkable and Beachwalk on the water to enjoy the waterfront. The room was clean. We arrived after hours so instructions to gain room access were easy to follow. Perfect place for an overnight.

Last minute booking! It was off the beaten path in a quiet residential neighborhood. Right next to a beautiful walking path by the bay. The building is from the 1800’s but is in wonderful shape. Definitely a nice stay. And it’s actually affordable.

Perfect for a quick stay.

Newly renovated rooms! Great bar and great service! Wish would have had time to try the restaurant.

The front desk doesn’t open until 3pm and the hotel bar and restaurant doesn’t open until 4pm. It’s in a residential area with no restaurants around so it’s really inconvenient if you need to get breakfast or lunch somewhere. You have to Uber to somewhere which kind of defeats the purpose of staying in a place with a restaurant. Other guests and I were down
In the lobby very frustrated that there was no way to get food.

This hotel had a lot of history and character. It’s been in the same family for many years and the owner even took our bags up the stairs to our room. Each room was different and unique. Our room had a separate sitting area from the bedroom. The room was very clean. The bathroom looked like it was recently updated. The bed was very comfortable. There is a restaurant attached, where we met a lot of locals. They were all friendly and gave us some great advice getting around and things to see. The food in the restaurant was very good. The seasonal pumpkin martinis were amazing. There are steps and no hair dryer in the room, but I would highly recommend and would stay there again!

A perfectly adequate time, if only it didn't cost so much. No worth it.

We really liked the historical building and the interior and look of the inside. Great food! Nice view of the ocean and neighborhood. Comfortable bed and clean sheets, but pillows are a little different than used to. Rooms need to be vacuumed a little bit better, found dead bugs in the closet. A/C unit had black mold in it and we were concerned about turning it on, so we had difficulty sleeping because the room got a little warm and humid due to the ocean breeze. Also did not care for the main hotel entry going straight into the restaurant where people are dining and having to carry in luggage, there is no elevator for room access. Pretty cool spot though.

Room was in poor condition. TV broken and no one could fix it. Towel bar broken. No elevator and it was not mentioned in the description. Had to ask a bartender to carry our bags up as we are older. Old room and slight musty smell. Left one night early because condition was so bad. Stayed at a Comfot Inn nearby and it was so much better.

Corporate hotels get old. This place is the antithesis to that. I literally had a small apartment with a view of the ocean! The first floor is a very popular local restaurant so food and drink were very accessible. You walk across the street and take stairs down to a walking path along the beach. It was 5-10 minutes from the airport and you don't have to deal with the tunnel or Rte. 1/1A. Will be back should I ever get stranded due to flights again!

Not worth the price. You’re better off using a chain hotel closer to the airport. It’s in a residential neighborhood—very challenging to get there and then to travel to the airport.

Propery very run down , smelly carpets. Big aircon unit standing on the floor, extremely noisy. Lights didn't work in the room and had to call someone to fix it. They did fixed it promptly. Overall awful experience for USD270 a night

We were very late for the check in, and the hotel staff provided very clear instruction to park and access the room. The room was comfortable, spacious and clean. It was also very quiet. Great experience, and we will stay in the future!

I stayed a week at the Winthrop Arms Hotel for a business trip. It was a perfectly nice hotel for the price, although there are a few things that could use improvement.
On the plus side, the bed was comfortable and clean, and the bathroom was sufficient.
However, several things about the hotel upkeep lend to a general air of shabbiness, and could be corrected with minimal expense or effort:
1. The towel bar in my bathroom was missing, with the town bar fixture poking out of the wall, as if someone had broken it off the wall recently.
2. The outlet by the bed was old, and the prongs inside were such that my charger wouldn't stay in the outlet. (Room 215)
3. The veneer on the bathroom vanity was peeling up, as if it had seen water damage.
4. There was a missing light bulb in the vanity lights, with the bare socket exposed.
5. Twice during my stay, the toilet would not refill, and I had to use the ice bucket to "flush it down." I'm not sure why the back tank wouldn't fill, because I had water in the sink and tub, but eventually, it would fill.
Granted, none of these are huge issues, but taken all together, it diminishes the overall appearance of being a top-notch hotel. It appears to me almost as if the upkeep of this historic (and lovely) old building is getting away from the owners.
I would stay here again, and it was nice to have the restaurant/bar attached for convenience. Also, the free parking was a bonus in a neighborhood with little extra parking.

Awful experience! Originally booked wrong date and noticed right after I hit the pay button ! Tried calling SEVERAL times and then Expedia tried as well . No answer at all! It did finally get put on the correct date but they charged me an extra $50 , for the charge, even tho it was during the week and not even close to being fully booked! Our flight was delayed and we finally arrived to an empty “ house” , it was locked and dark. Had to call a # and spoke to someone I could barely understand. He explained to me how to get in, which was on the 3rd floor with an old staircase.
Got in and room was old furniture and nothing matched , the bed was comfortable and seemed clean.
The next morning when we left , we realized the dark main level was a restaurant ( not open ) and we did not see one single person at the place, the place still had no lights on.
The fact that we had to pay extra still bothers me… because I tried calling over and over again and a minute after I booked it, but the only time I spoke with a person from this place , was when it was all locked up when we arrived!

This is my 2nd time at this charming property near the water. The restaurant is excellent and the bar is quaint. The rooms have now been renovated and are really nice. I will definitely be coming back.

Valet parking, great restaurant, comfortable accommodations and quiet room only 10 minutes from the airport for half the cost of other chains I researched! There is also a nice view of the ocean just minutes away, near an old seawall. What's not to like!

Absolutely beautiful area with gorgeous views. Staff was very friendly & helpful. No elevator.

The room was spacious and clean. The staff was friendly and helped with late checking in.
The area is good for walking and is oceanfront. It is close to airport but about 20-30min drive from downtown . The parking was easy, free and right next to hotel. The following amenities were not available but listed on the Orbitz property description: no WiFi connection or access listed in the room or check in papers, no breakfast was available. Overall, it was a good stay.

Had a fantastic experience! Definitely would stay here again!

Hotel room was clean and bed was comfortable. Staff courteous and helpful. Furnishings and hallways were worn and not representative of the pictures at booking but other reviews speak to updated rooms on another floor-be sure to ask for newer room. Broken lamp switch and knot in window blind making both inoperable. No lobby so prepare to enter into the middle of the restaurant with your luggage. Not a problem unless it is unexpected. Staff courteous and helpful.
