One of the best place in my life to stay and enjoy nature. Never forget the experience at Kona Tiki, and I'll be there again for sure.

Truly amazing place , we did not have a TV but realized that we did not come to Kona to watch TV . Staff was always there to help and support us with information about the island, places to eat and activities available. We will definitely stay at the Tiki Hotel again when we return.

The people who work there are amazing! They were very helpful. The room was nice as well. No Air Conditioning and parking was really bad but both issues were related to us at some point in the check in process so I can’t say it was a surprise. Overall I really enjoyed it there. Loved the closeness to the ocean and hearing the waves crashing on the rocks.

Such a cozy boutique hotel. Everything was set up and ready to go by the time we landed-so we were able to go straight to the room. The ocean view lanai was my favorite part. No AC but with the ocean breeze and fans we didn’t need. Small hotel pool with patio lounge chairs perfect for relaxing. They provided beach towels. The kitchen has dinnerware, microwave, toaster and larger fridge. The staff were very sweet and helpful. Perfect beach hotel for solo or couples.

After the bustling Waikiki, we found this lovely little hideaway in Kona. Everything was great from start to finish with a warm welcome from Karen, a nice room and your own ‚sea-spa‘ in the pool when the waves crushed over. We will comeback for your on our next Big Island visit.

My stay was excellent. This hotel is exactly what I was looking for with a stay in Hawaii. Peaceful, quiet, and fairly convenient. This place isn't gonna be for everyone, if you are looking for thrills and to be treated like royalty or have a family this probably won't be the place for you. But for me this place was perfect because I don't need all that. The issues with this place are minor and don't warrant super negative criticism, but parking can be an issue, it's a very small parking lot. Luckily for me it wasn't a problem. For me my only suggestion is I do wish they would get air conditioning. I was aware of it coming in and they advertise as part of their charm. I didn't think much of it either since they are right on the ocean. But the weather in Kona can get a bit on the warmer side with humidity especially in the summer. So yes the fans help and there is ocean breeze, but it's not a cool breeze like you get on the mainland so I feel like they should have AC. Other than that this place is great and I will most likely stay here again because I loved everything else about it.

We had the best time staying at Kona Tiki Hotel! We loved hearing the waves crash in at night and the slow-down island vibe of the hotel. Staff was super friendly, room was clean and had everything we needed, took advantage of the beach equipment and book shelf and enjoyed our time on the balcony overlooking the ocean. Awesome place to stay to truly relax on vacation!

Hidden gem! A quick walk (less than a mile) into Kona to experience fun restaurants and shops. The salt water pool was clean and refreshing and gave a view of incredible sunsets. No AC but the ocean breeze provided plenty of cool air. Small kitchenette was very useful so we didn’t have to dine out for expensive breakfasts. Would highly recommended!

On the bottom floor people walk by your veranda within 6 feet at night you need to secure and close all windows and blinds or they can walk right in. No circulation at night except a stand up fan and all windows and doors sealed for safety Ice machine only. No water soda or snack machines told to drink tap water no continental breakfast as advertised. Clean room but only if you plan to sleep there offers nothing if you want to relax by the pool for the day No local hints to get around or make your stay more convenient just rules and travel book for the island

This is a wonderful spot. Every room has a lanai right on the water - can't beat being able to watch the waves with your morning coffee! Well-designed rooms, thoughtful and considerate management, lovely little pool. Only downside is crowded parking, but with Hawaii's narrow roads, you're better off with a small car in any case. Highly recommended!

This place is a little gem. The rooms were updated and decorated perfectly Hawaiian. We stayed on the third floor and our balcony was right on the ocean. Spelt with the doors opened at night to the sound of the ocean. There is no elevator but it didn’t bother us. Great place.

The room view is immaculate. The product is bare minimum, there is no TV. There is no amenities. No AC.

Beautiful little spot right on the ocean, crashing waves in the back ground was soothing! Awesome little pool!

We could see dolphins and whales from our room! We recommend staying on the ground floor so you can head out to the sea wall easily to view urchins, yellow tangs, crabs, and even an eel or two. Perfect for couples. Everything is walkable, although it might be a mile or so each way depending on where you are going. We had the pool to ourselves most days.

Amazing views from all areas of this property, if your looking for an air conditioned stay (this not for you) no air con. Please mindful there is no lift provided for higher floor levels and the carpark area is very restrictive. A good walk to nice restaurants if you are fit, staff very polite.

Easy check in/check out. Cozy little place, very nice ocean view…We stayed for 3nights@103, they provide parking but very limited, swimming pool with sunset view is relaxing. Microwave/coffee maker/mini fridge/ plates/bowls/cups/knives/spoon&forks/descent bed/towels(and beach towels too) no A/C (you don’t need it, electric fan on standby) just open the glass sliding door & feel the island vibe!I will definitely come back here again. Thank you Kona Tiki!!!

Great location and value for what you pay for. The only issue would be parking, but parking across the street was a non-issue. Overall recommend staying here in the Kona region.

I loved the Kona Tiki Hotel. I was travelling alone and looking for a quiet and comfortable place. The Kona Tiki was perfect! My room was clean and bright and had its own little lanai overlooking the ocean.
There is a small pool here which not many other guests seemed to be using so I took full advantage of that after my day’s excursions and came back to the hotel where I enjoyed an afternoon swim and suntan and then watched the sunset, which was spectacular every night.
I enjoyed the fact that the rooms don’t have TV’s or air conditioning (I hate AC), and the bathroom only had a shower stall, no bathtub, but I think that also makes it non-children friendly which only contributed to the peace and quiet of this place - it’s basically an adult-only hotel without saying that! (Not that I dislike kids but I was travelling mine so it was nice to have that break.)
I loved the Kona Tiki Hotel and I want to go back! I loved the Big Island and am already thinking of how I could move there! :)

The location of the property is amazing. The owners went above and beyond helping my extend my stay (because I loved it so much) without any hassles. I was visiting a friend who lives on the island and and there were no issues with her coming to pick me up/ drop me off, or come and hang out by the pool. Owners were very kind and professional and extremely responsive to any issues I had (of no fault of their own). The pool area is amazing. being right on the water and always seemed like you had the whole place to yourself. Can't wait to come stay again

Loved staying here! Right on the water which was lovely. No AC like most places here on the Big Island, but you can leave the balcony door open at night for a nice breeze and to hear the water crashing against the rocks. We would definitely stay here again!

We were assigned room 105. The space setup is more for one person. There's no closet or dresser, the kitchenette has a fridge and microwave (no induction cool top as.advertised), and we found black mold in the cabinet next to the mini fridge. The bathroom has a pedestal sink no countertop space for toiletries. The pool is not a saline pool but filtered seawater with a lot of chlorine. If we knew what to expect I think I would give it a better rating. But the black mold under the counter is definitely a health hazard.

We enjoyed our stay at the Tiki hotel. The hotel felt so quiet despite being on a busy road. The sound of the waves blocked out traffic noise. The pool was gorgeous, i could have spent the whole day there. The bed in our room was fairy worn out, but overall i wpuld stay here again and would recommend it.
2.5
First of all, all rooms in the hotel are within a few yards of the Pacific Ocean. No need for fans or white noise generators; you fall asleep to the sound of actual waves crashing against the seawall right in front of the hotel. There is no phone or TV, but good wifi. The room is simple, and unpretentious. It looks like a classic 1950s hotel, but with the kind of upgrades that make the most sense (new floor, bathroom door, and shower enclosure). The bed is comfortable and the room decor is dominated by sliding glass doors the full width of the room. You can watch the waves from the bed and just beyond the seawall is a school of bright yellow Tangs. It's as if Hawaii is a beautiful picture of a tropical paradise and the Kona Tiki Hotel is a simple, elegant frame around it. Highly recommended.

Great view and nice updated accommodations. A really good find at the last minute.

Disappointed that there was no housekeeping services, after 5 days there tends to be buildup of mess but ne cleaning of the room.

Excellent mini-hotel right on the water. Great views of coastline and the ocean from the balcony. Ate most meals in the room with help of kitchenette. Expensive but worth it. Saw dolphins jumping and swimming from balcony. Also many birds in the palm trees and fish are visible in the water below. Great colors in the sky at sunrise and sunset (see photo).

With the waves so close it is a bit scary however I had a front row seat watching the surfers one morning. Fantastic!

A nice room. It is just a text to check in and out and we had no problems during our stay. We enjoyed the ocean view from our lanai and watching the crabs play on the sea wall. We also enjoyed seeing the birds and lizards around the back garden area and would stop to see them every time coming and going. The full sunset can be seen from the steps of the building or pool area. The no air conditioning wasn’t a problem for the most part. It was a little on the warm side during the day, but nothing over whelming. We kept the lanai doors open as much as possible to keep the room cooler, but had to close them at night due to the noise because I am a super light sleeper and even with ear plugs the ocean and traffic noise was too much for me. We used the ceiling fan and provided floor fan while sleeping and it was comfortable. It is not really walkable to anything, but we really enjoyed the small size of the hotel and that it was less busy around us. We were the only ones in the pool everytime we used it, which was nice. There is a fridge, microwave, coffee pot and a few other small cooking appliances that we didn’t use. A few dishes and silver wear available. Just FYI they supply one pot of coffee, but no cream or sugar so make sure you bring extra coffee with you and any add ins needed. It is a regular coffee pot, no k cups or anything of the sort. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
