Amazing place to stay. Outstanding accomodation. Very helpful and friendly owners.

I booked through Hotels.com, but the owner refused to pay through hotels.com. So I ended up paying for Hotels.com charge and hotel fees to the hotel owner and didn't get the loyalty rewards. The owner is greedy. :(

Juan and his wife were excellent hosts at their 4 unit bed and breakfast. They were very accommodating to our late arrival and helpful with arranging a great experience with a boat tour with Belleza Terreba mangrove tour. They offer a fresh breakfast and coffee, and were very helpful about providing recourses for other local eats for the other meals. They property is quiet, and it was amazing to wake up and fall asleep to the rushing river, birds and grasshoppers chirps, and midnight rains. The private porch overlooking the river and jungle was right outside our doors, and made for a beautiful and relaxing experience. I loved the layout of our cabin and aspire to own my own B and B like this one day!

Our stay in Yaba Chigui Lodge was most delightful. The property is very well maintained and the design is unique with huge glass windows. The rooms are facing the jungle. Waking up in the morning we listened to the noises and even saw two monkeys. The innkeepers Juan and Ana were extremely helpful and friendly. We would come again in an instant!

We stayed here on the last night of our honeymoon in Costa Rica and we loved it. The owners are so kind and went out of their way to make our last night in Costa Rica special which we really appreciated. I would highly recommend this place! You feel like your are in nature and it is wonderful. We also had the chance to eat at Citrus nearby which was our favourite dining experience while in Costa Rica. Thank you for an excellent stay!

This place is the most beautiful, peaceful place I’ve ever stayed. I enjoyed the sights and sounds of nature so very much. The breakfasts were delicious, the hosts friendly and helpful, and the location was close to everything we wanted to do and yet was away from the tourist chaos. Close to fantastic restaurants, the beach, and tours. This is the place for you if you want to experience all the best of Costa Rica’s beauty.

Such an awesome little spot! This was our first night in Costa Rica after 72 hours of travel from South Africa, what an amazing welcome to the country! Juan and Anna are incredible hosts, so kind and attentive! Sofia who deals with the reservations is just great and so helpful! So impressed with this lodge and the kindness and hospitality! Waking up to the forest in the morning was amazing and we spent the next few hours spotting wildlife and exotic birds from the comfort of the king sized bed (beautiful soft bed and linen btw) everything was top notch! Don’t hesitate to book! We will be back!

What an amazing place! We loved our stay here as a family of four (with two young ones ages 9 & 4). Its wonderful because there are only 4 casitas so you have a lot of privacy. There is a beautiful pool that our kids loved to swim in and the rooms are airy and clean. The owners went above and beyond what a normal host would do with helping us book a mangrove trip, make restaurant reservations, and providing a delicious breakfast earlier than they typically do to accommodate our adventures. A bonus is that the town they are located in (Ojochal) has some of the best restaurants in Costa Rica! We particularly enjoyed our meal at Citrus. Highly recommended!

This hotel/bed &breakfast was amazing. The architecture is very well thought out and is very impressive. You can tell that an incredible amount of love and attention to detail went into the creation of this "Rain Forest Haven". The pool is terrific. The view from your bed is a lush rain forest with various sounds of birds chirping. You may also see or hear the Howler monkeys. The owners made a breakfast that was delectable. They are very well educated and we enjoyed our conversation with them.

Ahhhh - what an amazing experience!!! The owners are just amazing. I came on a solo trip and DEFINITELY should have had a 4x4 to get up the hill (that being said, I DID make it alive in the worlds tiniest clown car that had spare tires on it...so if you have a regular sized, you could definitely make it..if you are into adventure!)
They realized that I was likely not going to be going down the hill and were so kind to invite me down with them to watch the sunset. I got to know them, asked them their stories and truly had a great conversation with them. What kind souls!!!!!
The place itself is very very serene. They put a lot of love into building this place. The pool was perfect for a dip and reading a book. The beds are comfortable. The noises at night are definitely jungle, some folks will find it peaceful and some may find it takes a night to get used to so bring earplugs if you are a super light sleeper.
The views. The views!! It's like living inside of Instagram hahah. You have two showers, a rainfall shower that has a floor to ceiling window overlooking the jungle and river. You then also have an outdoor shower, which is magical.
They provide a nice fridge and coffee and tea for whenever you need it in the room. The breakfast in the morning is made with love.
Overall, a great stay. I'd go back with my girlfriend..and a 4x4 ;) THANK YOU!!

A modern architectural surprise. This was my third visit to Costa Rica and the best place I have stayed. Beautiful setting with private room walk out to the jungle. I would describe the hotel as a boutique B&B with plenary of privacy, amazing views, super breakfast and amazing hosts who were clearly inspired to build something very special. The hosts’ passion is evident in every detail from the rooms luxurious finishes to landscaping and wilderness setting. There are many of the best restaurants in Costa Rica within abou 1 km of the hotel.

Yaba Chigui Lodge was a fantastic place to stay. But the greatest value was the hosts themselves. Juan and Ana are such wonderful people. Every morning they served us a tasty healthy breakfast, then we continued with great conversation. I would never stay anywhere else in Ojochal. Will definitely be going back.

Yaba Chigui is a delightful, boutique bnb with wonderful hosts! They were immensely helpful and so friendly. Breakfasts were a delight- watching sloths in the trees over delish food in the mountains cant be beat. Waking up to the sound of the stream running through the property and the views of the forests made it hard to get out of bed but there is so much to do within a short distance. Great variety of beaches, waterfalls, and the Boruca village is ~45 minute drive away. Highly recommend this place and hope to return someday!
