Our stay could be better if the room had air conditioning. The head of the bed was not attached and it moves. The fan was not enough to cool off due to humidity. The bathroom window was toward the patio it did had a not clear pattern paper but still visible.

Sparce but comfortable for our first night in Oaxaca. The rooftop restaurant wasn’t open but it was a Monday when we stayed. Very walkable and friendly staff. Hot water was welcome in the shower.

mi credit card numbers where stolen when they charged for my stay. had to call my credit card and cancel. further charges

It is a nice place, but it needs a bit of TLC. The bedroom was big, so was the bathroom but it needs tables or stands for personal items, not enough lights in the room either.

The hotel is nice but I found it expensive for what it is and breakfast was not included. The restaurant had just opened, so the NYE party was very disorganized and expensive. We listened to Christmas songs even though I requested to change the music. The playlist repeated at least 4 times.

We had a nice stay at the hotel however there was a complete demolition of the front areas where the reception was and a restaurant was. The construction started around 8:45am until 6:30pm daily, making it difficult to sleep in, rest during the day, while on our vacation and do some remote work. We were very surprised this was not mentioned at the time of booking, nor prior to our arrival or at check in. We were also very surprised there was any construction even allowed during this week…dia de Los muertos is an 8 days celebration in Oaxaca that we were specifically there for and of course the hotel prices reflected that too. We mentioned our disappointment and questioned the reasoning mid-stay to the hotel manager and the. submitted a complaint directly to hotels.com. Only hotels.com actually did something for us, the hotel never responded to us or offered any compensation or refund. The hotel still has not responded to Hotels.com requests. We are disappointed the construction happened the first 5 days we were there…including both Saturday and Sunday. Other than the construction, everything else about this hotel was good, especially the location.

Nice place, clean rooms, hot water, nice patio, feels safe, overall great stay. Only annoyance was the nearby cathedrals early morning bells! :)

Lovely hotel, beautiful views of the mountains from the roof terrace. This area of Oaxaca is my favourite to stay in - walkable to the zócalo, Jalatlaco and Xochimilco, and the bus station but a quiet oasis to sleep! Recommend this hotel highly.

Excellent week long stay during the celebrations for Dia des los Muertos. Perfect location for exploring the historic and colorful areas of Oaxaca...also the rooftop terrace was a wonderful place to watch the parades go by and also relax in the evening. Our room was large with a comfortable bed and large bathroom. All amenities were better than basic and we received daily waters and anything else we asked for like extra towels etc. The entire staff from housekeeping to front desk was wonderful and friendly and helpful. It was a joy to stay here and I would choose this Parador again in a heartbeat!

Very nice, comfortable and clean rooms . The location is great but a little noisy but inside the hotel was fine.

There were only two small bedside lamps in the room, not enough light to read by. There was a large overhead chandelier that lit up the room, but not really conducive for reading. Only a desk chair and desk to sit on. Could use a side table and chair and better lighting to get a five star rating. Service was excellent.

The hotel was clean and staff was nice, but felt it was priced higher than the value was. The bed was very firm.

It was ok but disappointing. It’s in a GREAT location next to Santo Domingo and perfect for walking in the area. It was a bit more expensive than I normally pay in Oaxaca so I was expecting better than m where I normally stay (I stay in Oaxaca 3 times per year). The room they gave us was WAY in the back of the hotel (which was weird because were were the only ones staying there). The room had a horrible odor (like an old room) which I understood because of the age of the hotel but the bathroom has a body odor smell that never left either. It was raining some while we were there and so some humidity is expected, however the room stayed WET. All of our clothes were wet just from sitting in the room. We left the window open and fan on(no a/c) to try and dry it out but we left with wet clothes in our suitcases just from hanging in the closet. There was mold on the walls as well and on the plastic shower curtain. It’s sad because the room could be nice but it doesn’t appear they are ventilating it well or maintaining it.
The courtyard is pretty there and has a lot of beautiful plants and the terrazza is nice to go out and see the views of the city.
Also, the morning I was checking out I noticed they decided to overcharge my card and not the card I gave them when I arrived but one on my hotels.com profile. That charge is pending so I will dispute if necessary when finalized. I tried discussing it with them before I left but they insisted there were no other charges.

A very good stay. Friendly, helpful staff. Bed sheets were a bit small for size of bed! We would have appreciated a bar, or somewhere at least to buy a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. Apart from that a very good hotel and we enjoyed our stay.

Good location and nice staff. Spent several days in a small room that was less than wonderful. Plumbing issues, poor soundproofing, a paucity of towels left in bathroom etc. Worst was extremely poor water pressure in Shower. Then moved to a Junior suite on the second floor which was much better in terms of most of those issues. I suppose I would grudgingly recommend this hotel but only in for a Junior suite.

Hotel is in a great location 6-8 minute walk to Santo Domingo church, close to great restaurants and bars. Took my 11 year old granddaughter to the Guelaguetza festival which was amazing, it was very safe walking at night. Hotel is very clean, our room was very clean everyday. Staff was very friendly. I plan to go again to the Guelaguetza festival next year and definitely I will stay there again with my family. Oaxaca is a great place to visit.

I love how close it is to the Santo Domingo church along with all the shops and restaurants. Great place!

Although the bed was undeniably comfortable the management were not concerned about any further comforts! We were there for eight nights and had to go on raids to the supply closet to get toilet paper, had to buy our own hand soap as none appeared for days, and had to ask for more of the cheap shampoo when we ran out. Three days out of 8 we got a hand towel but we always got fresh towels at least. It’s not like the rooms were cheap, they were not. It may be a total lack of trading for the cleaning staff, all male, and Mexican mothers traditionally do not train their sons on housecleaning. It shows!

The hotel’s location is great! It’s walking distance from the church Santo Domingo. There are various shops and restaurants to explore.

Very pleasant quiet and affordable stay in a traditional Oaxacan hotel on one of the nicest streets of the historical district. Rooms are spacious and clean and open to a courtyard. While there is no restaurant it is doors away from some of the best eateries in Iaxaca.

Had a great time there!
Quiet location near everything and a nice rooftop deck.
I would absolutely stay again.😄
