Was there for a business event and was very happy with the property and its dinning and entertainment options.

I stay here every other week (3-4 nights a month) so while this might sound silly, my core complaint is the coffee machines in the room. No respectable hotel has coffee machines that require guests to run boiling water through single use PET plastic - a known carcinogen and totally gross to essentially get a single use plastic with coffee grains to a near melting temperature. Every other hotel above $250/night has moved to the small nespresso machines that use aluminum pods. I seriously might stop staying here due to this - I'm here for business frequently, wake up needing coffee in my room to start on emails/shower before work and this is a big deterrent. Otherwise, it's a good location, rooms are clean and staff is lovely. This is just one of the more notable things that should be addressed by a high-end hotel.

Lighting in the room, especially in the bathroom was insufficient
Front desk staff, however, were great
Restaurant was above average; somewhat limited menu, but what was on there was very good

Checking in was great as we arrived early and they accommodated us immediately. Rooms were nice, but small. Dining in hotel was good, but didn't like the area around the hotel. Didn't seem safe. Parking not included in stay.

Enjoyed the pet friendly stay at Renaissance. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The spa is welcoming and relaxing. We enjoyed the Shore Bar and the patio by the river.

We had the BEST stay here. We got an amazing upgrade. Corner room with magnificent views. Every single staff member was professional and kind. The restaurant is really good. You can sit inside or outside with a front row river view. The fresh brioche bread with avocado or made as French Toast was a favorite. If you need to be in that area of Reno, I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Great place to stay. Hotel can be a bit loud based on traffic noise, air conditioner, and other guests. The staff was amazing, the facility was clean and up to date. Only suggestion is to upgrade pool area, looks the same as 8 years ago when I last visited.

Spa was a disappointment. We arrived 30 minutes early to relax at the spa before our spa package however it took 25 minutes to check in as others were checking out and we were asked to wait. Once we were escorted in we changed and immediately we were called back for our massages. Massages were good but our package was supposed we be a massage and facial. it was not a facial. Just a mud mask. Not worth that price of the package.
We were also supposed to get a tshirt and we were asked what size shirt we wanted on Friday when we confirmed our appointment. However when we checked out they did it have our sizes for shirts! Why bother asking then? We ended up with tote bags instead.
We confirmed our appointment 3 times too-By email, text and call- excessive and annoying. I understand if we didn’t reply but we replied each time!!
Then we I tried checking out after our spa appointment the credit card machine wasn’t working after resetting the system 2 times the attendant ended up charging my card manually. Very time consuming as we were had dinner reservations we were trying to get too.

The hotel property was kept very nice. We weren't to keen on not having covered parking. We were also very displeased with the fact that we paid over $300 for 1 night yet had to also pay $19.50 for parking per 24 hrs and Wi-Fi was not included and we would have had to pay (which we certainly did not). We were on the 5th floor. There was one ice machine and one drink vending machine. The vending machine was complety empty. Not one choice was available. The day we were there the weather was in the 90's. We choose to try out the restaurant in the hotel. They had huge sliding doors open to the seating outside. We sat down at our table and quickly realized that it had to have been in the 80°s for inside dining. I used my menu as a fan the entire time we were seated. It was so hot and uncomfortable. We rushed to eat, just to get out of that restaurant. For the price we paid for a one night stay, we certainly figured it would had been more enjoyable. We won't be referring this hotel to anyone we know.

I didn’t like that there was no transportation to and from the airport.

The shower handheld attachment didn't work and the AC smelled foul, like urine. It was most unpleasant.

I was disappointed in this hotel. The rooms were dark and it was not as clean as I would expect from a higher end Marriott. The location is not super safe to walk around at night. But the beds were comfortable and the common areas were good.

I loved this hotel. I thought the desk clerk was most helpful. He helped me get an uber driver several times, and called a cab company for me. He is?most helpful and knows how to treat tgw?guests. He was on working today, Tuesday, at 12:00 Noon, check out time. He also checked me in on February 29th at around 9:00PM at night. The server's, and day and night manager's at the Shore restaurant are wonderful and gracious. Ruby, my spa attendant, at Refuge Spa gave me a Hot Stone Massage that was excellent. I will definately co e back, and stay at the Renaissance, and will recommend it to other's.

Beautiful property right on the river. They have a really nice lounge where we had the best smoked old-fashioned we’ve ever had. They have a couple of dining options, one has bocce lanes and an arcade, which was super fun with our college kids. It’s downtown, so the surrounding area is a bit unsavory, but the valet personnel keep the riff raff out. All in all we were very happy with the hotel.

Staff were amazing! Easy to enter property and on site parking. Wish the parking lot was covered, but it was on property so convenient. Decor is modern and lovely with an up scale feel. Room was really nice. Restaurant and bar area was great. Stag were so friendly and food was excellent. Will definitely stay again.

Well good overall but just lacking customer service at the cost levels of this hotel.

Located in downtown Reno close to the City Building, the Pioneer Center, and overlooking the Truckee River, if you want a non-casino downtown stay, this location is good. They have a good restaurant, a huge, very cool arcade/bocce ball/pool tables/game room for all ages. Staff is super friendly! Bed was pretty comfy, just decor was going for posh angler and it was executed well, but rooms are really dark, and carpet was fraying and ripped in a few places. Just needs a little baby facelift.

Beautiful property that is well maintained and walking distance to many restaurants

Amenities listed are wrong. I had no bottled water in my room, no room service menu, no alarm clock and no coffee/tea set up.
3.0 / 5.0
Drab, dark and spartan. there was nothing inviting about any of the spaces. (OK, the restaurant wasn't too bad.) the main lobby looks like an old subway terminal, and the rooms look like someone with $75 tried to spruce up a high-end prison ward. there was nothing comfortable or relaxing about any of it. The staff were generally polite and friendly, but even that seemed forced (possibly the environment?). Was the designer trying to channel Terry Gilliam's "Brazil"?

Johnathan was very accommodating and understanding when we needed switch out our room and took care of us immediately. I highly recommend a ninth floor corner suite. Ginger at the spa was also fabulous in getting us booked for our services at the spa when we came in last minute. We had a wonderful stay, definitely will be back.

loved the hotel, the staff was very pleasant and provided excellent service. Our room was great.
2.0 / 5.0
We didn’t like the room given to us. It was overlooking industrial AC units which were noisy in the night. The suite was gloomy with limited lights and seating area was not well organized / not comfortable. Restaurants on property had very limited vegetarian options and restrictive timings. Not much activity to do at the property.
