Great location, a short walk to Maine street with direct access to Lake Placid. The room was great- I was a little concerned about the self-checking, but it worked fine.

We had a few hiccups when we first arrived and though the property was not staffed we found they were responsive by phone and text. We could walk to downtown, though long, but on well maintained sidewalks. Beautiful views of the mountains over the lake. Grocery store nearby.

It was walking distance to town and clean. Couldn’t shut the heat off so had to sleep with the air conditioner on all night even though it was 50° outside. The only way to contact was online. They had no nobody in the office. I didn’t like that.

Checked in at 4pm but room was not ready, bed was not made. After calling customer service we were told there were laundering issues and please come back at 4:30 everything would be ready. At 4:30 room was still not ready, on site staff never got the message. On site staff were super friendly and took care of finishing the room right away. Otherwise everything was great.

Great for what we needed
1.0 / 10.0
It's basically a motel that has new paint. It's on the main road - noisy trucks. The room smelled of cheesy popcorn and we woke up nautious. The chair (only 1) had stains on it. The air conditioner was so loud (a 747 would seem peaceful) we had to turn it off so we were too hot. The check in has nobody in the office - it's all with a code, there is no lobby, no place to get a drink (just a coffee machine), the pool looked nice, and there were chairs by the water, but this is NOT a resort, it's a motel. I phoned to ask if we could move and not stay or pay since it's such false advertising, but they said no, but they would happily give me a discounted rate since it was so disappointing. BUT they lied, ghosted me after we stayed despite seeming to care what we thought. I highly recommend you save your money and stay at a real resort. Don't stay here.

I love this hotel. I like that you don’t have to formally check in ; I was super exhausted when I arrived and having the key code for the room was ultra convenient. The room was cozy and comfortable; it had everything I needed for a great night’s sleep. Bed was perfect… I will definitely stay here again !

Very great stay. Access to the lake with available canoes for use. Great place to enjoy a book looking at the lake. I will come back and recommend the place. Greta weekend!

Although the key was not ready when we arrived the soap dispener ran out, and the coffee maker did not operate, service was courteous and sometimes prompt.

I love this place! The bonefire and kayak were the best part!!

The peace, space, location and support of the staff make that we enjoyed our stay and definitely want to come back here when we are in the area again. The only consideration for us was the AC in our room which was built in without rubbers which makes the frame resonate loudly.

The only reason I gave 4 stars for staff & service is because it's a self-service kind of place. You get a code for your door, which is also the code for the lobby which has ice, extra coffee and creamers, brochures, etc. The rooms are small but comfortable. The shampoos et al. are Beekman, which is a nice touch. We spent very little time in the room so the size didn't matter. If it had rained I think there were 1000 channels on the tv. The location is a short walk to the main area of Lake Placid and there's a very pretty bay with Adirondack chairs, canoes/kayaks and fire pits behind the property.

I never got the check in email with room number and access code. Plus the hotel didn’t clean the room while I was there. Not worth the price. Not sure I would stay there again.

Price and location are good. Would stay again. Smoke detector was missing and the Keurig in the room only had decaf though.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Townhouse Lodge, and overall, my experience was fantastic. The on-site staff were amazing and incredibly accommodating, even when I asked a million questions. Their friendliness and willingness to help made my stay truly enjoyable.
However, there was a bit of confusion with the booking process. We originally booked for the Placid Bay Inn and were shown a room and location specific to that inn. Upon arrival, we discovered our room was actually at the Townhouse Lodge down the block. While this wasn't a huge issue since both locations are quite similar, it would be helpful if this discrepancy were fixed to avoid any future confusion.
As a minor complaint (just being a girl), the rooms lacked full-body mirrors, which made it difficult to see myself properly. It would be great if this amenity could be added in the future.
Despite these small issues, I had an awesome experience. The rooms were spacious and modern, and Miguel, the manager, was particularly great. Additionally, I loved having access to the boats—they added a fun and unique element to my stay.
Overall, I highly recommend the Townhouse Lodge for its excellent staff, comfortable accommodations, and enjoyable amenities. Just remember to add some full-body mirrors, and it will be perfect!

The check in is very easy. A couple hours before check in you are sent a code for your room. They do not have a person on site but do have access to a number of things you might need. The property is right on the lake and the view from the room is great. Our room was small but comfortable. They have canoes and kayaks for guests to use. The down town area is easily in walking distance.

Really nice property, great sleep
4.0 / 10.0
This property is relatively convenient to the Village and the rates are competitive. It is a very self serve model property, which is not for everyone. Our top priority was an economical place to sleep, and this property has fit the bill twice now for us. This most recent time over eight inches of snow fell, and they seemed slow to me in clearing it up, especially the stairs. Overall I will consider this property again for future winter weekends in Lake Placid.

The weekender concept is not for me. Snow removal on steps to my room on second floor not done for 3 days. Why a toilet plunger in front of my door. Could not connect on WIFI, person I called was arrogant, I gave up after 2 days.
I will be back in the area soon. I lived in the area for over 30 years. Spent over 30 years in the ski/outdoor recreation industry.
Anyone that asked about where I was staying was told how I felt. This included ORDA, DEC, The Hilton, I could go on. For another 20- 30 dollars per night it would be worth it.

This is an old motel with a fresh coat of paint. Nothing amazing but comfortable enough for a night or two. Light sleepers beware. The walls are THIN. You can clearly hear a conversation or the tv in the next room over.

Able to check in early after I called the service desk, very easy and simple system for check in and out. Would stay here again. Easy free parking.
4.0 / 10.0
I was hoping that the low price wasn’t a reflection of the property but in this case it was. The flooring was a beige carpet and there were stains throughout the room. There were also beverage stains on the doors and the walls. The chair in the room had visible discoloration. The bathroom floors were not clean. The staff did accommodate us with an early check-in as requested which was appreciated but upon arrival the room was only 60 degrees. I really wanted to like this place but I couldn’t wait to go home and shower. I would not stay here again or recommend it to anyone else. I will note that I am a clean freak so these things really throw me off, if you are not then it may be fine for you.

The whole check in-check out proccess was smooth and very convenient. Hotel room and bathroom were amazingly renovated and beautiful as well as clean. Had a great stay. Only inconvence was the lack of parking at the hotel. I understood that it was small and a tourist town, just felt inconvenienced when i had to park at a different hotel and walk to my hotel. Just feel in future the information ahead of time would have been appreciated so i would have known to uber or lyft. But all in all it was an amazing stay and a great hotel.

The room was beautiful. Everything looked clean and new. The location was great. Parking was the only negative. The smallish lot was full when we arrived (8pm). Would definitely stay there again.

10/10 Fantastic place to stay, nice comfy & cozy bed, great bathroom, nice outdoor features. Chairs to sit around the docks and view the lake. Nice fire pit beside the lake!

The hotel had no check in. This would have been fine if we received the check in details, but we didn't and the phone provided to contact someone did not work.
When we finally accessed the room it was very small. The bed was lovely but took up the entire room, leaving no space for anything else.
We booked this hotel for the canoes&kayak hire. These had been removed before we got there and were unavailable. This hadn't been communicated in advance.
I would describe this hotel as "ok"
