The location was good and convenient, easy access to eateries, convenient stores and bus-stops. Service staff were helpful too. The only thing i was upset about was the dustiness in the room. I have very sensitive nose. Once i entered the room, i started sneezing and having stuffy nose. Kept feeling there were plenty of fibres and dust floating around. Made my face itchy too.

Great hotel in a very convenient location in Kyoto. Japanese-style breakfast was very nice!

Spacious, clean and cozy rooms! Hotel also makes you feel safe, close to Nijo-Jo Castle which is a must-to-visit I think. Also there is a bus stop 1 min walk distance from front door. I recommend here. 10-15 mins bus trip to Kyoto Station.

I loved that I was able to get some manga to read during my down time at the hotel. The staff were great and the bento breakfast was delicious
8.0
Close to metro, staff were accommodating, I was comfortable and it was everything I needed. Very clean, I enjoyed the Japanese breakfast. The bed mattress is hard but I was still able to sleep. The room is also small.
10.0
Very friendly staff, walkable to Nijo-jo castle and the imperial Palace. Right next to the city bus stop, and easy to get to from Kyoto station.
We didn't stay long enough to use it, but the lending library of manga seemed a nice option, especially on rainy days.

This us a great property and the location is excellent with easy access to trains and buses. The only thing i would like point out is that the mattresses are extremely hard. The rest was great.

Was a very nice hotel with great staff and amenities. The only downside was it was a bit far from kyotos main attractions and the subway but hotel was amazing.
4.0
Convenient hotel, not too far from the station and walkable to sites with bus and subway lines close by. Very small rooms, not the most comfortable for long trips with large suitcases.
Staff are very friendly. Breakfast is Japanese breakfast which is great to experience but again, for longes stays, may get redundant.

Nice, clean, and modern hotel. They have lots of manga to read in the lobby that you.can sign out and take up to your room to read or even up to the little rooftop terrace they have if you want. Room was small and space efficient which suited me just fine because I wasn't going to Japan to live in a hotel. A complaint I have would be the mattress and pillow were super hard and uncomfortable, but after walking around all day that didn't stop me from passing out. Also that street sounds were pretty loud, but again, I had no problem falling asleep. All in all a decent little hotel and I would still stay again if I was back in the area.

So much to do near here, really recommend renting a pedal assist bike and seeing everything you can (the covered shopping district / castle etc)

Lovely hotel, great staff, very clean. I especially enjoyed the lobby area where there were bookshelves full of manga, which you are able to take to your hotel room with you to read, and there are even some manga in English! 10/10

Very nice boutique hotel with excellent Japanese hotel. Interesting library of comics. Located on main road and near bus and metro. Close to Nijo jo castle.

4.5/5 Excellent customer service. The staff speaks English and they offer luggage transfer services for a very reasonable price. The room is small, but it met my need. The bed is hard, but it’s actually very good for the back (better for my back than my super soft bed at home). The bathroom is compact, but the tub is actually quite large. The terrace is cute. The breakfast is Japanese style, they also have coffee and tea. The manga selection for non Japanese speakers isn’t great. The location is pretty convenient, there’s a family mart and a 7-11 just a few steps away. And a few central bus lines. Close to nijo castle and few minute bus ride from Gion. I would stay again. If the bed were soften and the room a little larger, I'd give it 5 stars.

There's a Lawsons and a 7/11 right near the hotel so getting snacks late at night is a breeze! They have self serve tea/coffee complimentary near reception so it makes it nice to have when you're reading their manga selection. They have only 2 washer/dryer combos starting at 100yen per 30 min cycles but when we went, 1 broke down and started leaking but they got it fixed right away. The beds are really hard and hurt my back as I laid on them but all in all it's a nice hotel. Kind of a walk from the closest JR station but it's a nice location.

Love that there are even a few English comic options to borrow. Rooms designed for reading and a small free drink bar.
The beds are firm. I liked it but may not be for everyone.

Hotel is good, we had a nice stay. Overall mostly clean, I did see some dirty spots on the wall. The beds are very firm (typical of Japan/Asia). Great price and decent location. Would stay again.

Room was small, but still super cozy and fuctional :) I did not need anything more. Room had everything. Quiet and easy access to most attractions. Castle 8min walk away, market and bazar 8min walking. JR train station, bus station, everything is in 10min radius
10.0
Standard hotel room but with more clever design features than is typical - fold down desk, under bed storage, etc. Quiet, clean, comfortable, easy access for public transit. Staff friendly and helpful.

I stayed here for 21 days and really enjoyed my stay. The beds are a top hard for my taste, but it's not an actual complaint, just something to keep in mind if you only can sleep in soft beds. While staying I made good use of their Manga library. I mostly read them in Japanese, but I saw they did have a small selection in English as well. The location was great but not the best. I had a lot of places to go that required me to first go to Kyoto station, which was easiest to do by bus, but could also be done by subway (with one change), which made for bit of annoyance. However, there was also a lot to see around the hotel within walking distance, and the shopping options including cafés and eating places were great (from the ones I tried). The staff is very nice and helpful. I got by with a mix of Japanese and English without any trouble. The room was very small, but it had everything necessary and I was very happy about the small fridge there as well. The bathtub was my highlight, as I am a very tall person (185 cm/6,? Inches) and rarely can I fit in the normal bathtubs I've seen around on hotels, but I COULD FIT!!! And I didn't had to become a human pretzel to be able to do so, it was super nice. Overall I really enjoyed my stay, and the only negative thing really is the hard bed that started hurting my back a bit the last week, but if I had just stayed for a week or two it wouldn't have become a problem for me. I recommend for the price, especially for shorter stays.

Apart from the bed being hard (hey some people like that i know) the hotel was brilliant easy walking distance to sights and the train station.
Would stay again

A very nice located hotel close to bus stops and convenience stores. The rooms are on the tiny side and the beds are not that comfortable but overall I recommend it if you’re on a budget.

I had a great stay. It was so nice to have a small bathtub. The room/bed was small but expected in Japan and I didn't fell like I needed anymore space. It was quiet and the staff were super helpful. Would definitely recommend staying here. I stayed as a solo female and felt super safe. The rooftop garden is also nice.

It was a cute hotel with lots of comic books to borrow! It's mostly in Japanese with a small selection in English (Demon Slayer, My Hero Academia etc). We paid extra for breakfast and it was delicious! There is an included tea and coffee bar at the lobby, and a vending machine. Price is also very reasonable. We stayed in a two twin beds room; the space by the bed is decent but the space by the washroom, in the washroom, and the counter area is a bit tight. Air conditioning works fine and the room and bed were comfortable. There is in house coin laundry but the machines are a bit weak. Within 10 min walk there is a conbini, a few restaurants, and Nijo castle. Overall it's a comfortable hotel and I would consider staying here again.

good value, good location and comfortable

The room was small and well furnished. There was plenty of hot water for a bath around 2300. The lighting is somewhat unintuitive. You have to stick your room keycard into an illuminated slot in the room in order to turn on the lights and anything else that uses electricity. Some of the staff didn’t seem that good at English, but you can easily manage despite that. The laundromat takes coins (only 100 yen if I believe), so be prepared for that. There is a Lawson’s less than a minute away, and I believe a bus stop less than a minute away. There are also guides, maps, and amenities on the first floor. The bed is firm.
Overall, it was a really enjoyable experience and I would get a room here again!

Affordable room. Friendly staff.

The bathroom though small is probably made up of several smooth surface prefabricated units and assembled. The surface is easy to clean and the bathroom was very clean. The shower and drainage are also very good. Bus transportation very convenient to downtown and Gion district.
