Davide has more than helpful. Amazing building. Highly recommended.

Stayed during low season early March, very pleased with our stay. Tasty breakfast, eggs cooked to order, fruits, ham, prosciutto, salami, cheeses, coffee freshly made, Keurig, teas, you can lace your beverage with Porto (fortified Portuguese wine). David, the manager, was very kind, always ready to please, let us check out later, let our luggage in the room. That was great.

Excellent accommodation. Staff made our staying memorable. Will definitely return for the same experience.

Absolutely charming! Very welcoming and helpful staff. Amazing breakfast.

Our stay began with an incredibly friendly and welcoming David offering us an early check-in and breakfast (we were exhausted from the flight/ time change so this was awesome!!)
The building has very interesting history and details throughout the building. David and the staff made our stay memorable and so comfortable.
We highly recommend this property for your trip. FYI: paid parking (coins only!) is readily available across the property and free Sundays. Thank David and team!
Sincerely,
Lisa & Drew (Ottawa, Ontario, 🇨🇦)

Although the rooms are on the smaller size, we had access to a large lovely antique living room. The blue/white tiled dining room tables and buffet counters with the beautifully maintained wooden cabinetry, ceilings and floors made for an outstanding atmosphere. I cannot say enough about the staff! Sandrine was a delight to speak with and was always finding ways to make our stay easier (helping with luggage, accommodating whatever needs we had). Rachel and Teresa (dining/cleaning staff) were equally pleasant to speak with. They were available to us at breakfast and could not be more pleasant. The one and only drawback is that because this was a former monastary, there are stairs (no elevator) to get to our room. That said, Sandrine took it upon herself to help us lug our bags up and downstairs. We both would definitly go back!

We had a wonderful stay! Our room had everything we needed, including our own terrace overlooking the square and its two churches.
Breakfast everyday was an absolute delight! The food was delicious, fresh, and abundant.
The staff members and owner were so friendly and accommodating and always shared knowledge about activities and other things we might like to do.
Parking was our only concern, but there was ample paid parking (4-5€ per day) on the square or there were two free parking areas that we also used that were about an 8-10 minute walk.

Excellent service, excellent breakfast! The location is great for exploring Ponta Delgada on foot, but keep in mind you will hear the airplanes and, if you get a room to the front, cars on the cobblestone road.

My 87-year-old mother and I stayed here 4 4 days at the start of our 2-week Azores visit. We enjoyed it so much we returned for another four days at the end.
Formerly a chapel of the Sao Fransisco Churches in the square, the owner Theresa has retained most of those elements. There’s a font and some stations of the cross as you enter.
The full breakfast was so hearty featuring fresh Azorean breads, cheeses and fruits, that we didn’t have to eat until dinner most days.
Manager Sandrine tends a pretty garden that the breakfast are overlooks. All her garnishes feature edibles from the garden, and for my mom she made a refreshing mint water every day that we were able to take with us as we adventured.
Easy walking distance to a myriad of resturants and shops and just a block away from the waterfront, we found the location ideal.
The rooms are immaculately kept, although you need to bring your own wash cloth.
Sandrine willingly offers advice, but unfortunately there’s not 24 reception where you can organise tours, get brochures etc. It’s more like having your private apt in the quiet part of the city.
Higly reccommend to travellers who aren’t looking for hotel amenities like room service, reception, gym and swimming pool.
For my mom and I it was lovely.. oh, you are allowed in the garden!

Sandrine, the hotel Manager was remarkable, she went beyond our expectations, she treated us as family, the room was clean, comfy, cozy amd private, we wanted for nothing, she was warm and loving, she even packed us a lunch and personally saw us off at 5:15 in the morning!!!....the old church was soo romantic. A must for anyone traveling to Sao Miquel. We miss Sandrine and that church already.

very old building with its unique charm, all newest amenities, central location, THE BEST CUSTOMERS SERVICE I ever got in my 40+ years of extensive travel. Sandrine is THE BEST, She even came on her own time with little surprises for us. Highly recommend this Casa, you will be wowed from the moment you enter the house.

Casa do Campo de São Francisco is PER-FECT-TION. If you are looking for a place with charm, authenticity, comfort, location and personal touch, look no further. The staff, the food are also amazing. I could not recommend this strongly enough. If you want a big chain hotel with all the services, look elsewhere. This is personalized lodging at its best!

We stayed there for five nights and it was lovely. The hotel is in an impressive, beautiful old building in a central location. The lady running the hotel, Teresa, is a lovely person who is always helpful and has clearly a passion for running the place. The extraordinary was based on local ingredients and was extraordinary. Best accommodation experience for us for a long time!

It was fantastic staying in a 400 year old church. It was nicely furnished and very interesting. The breakfasts were delicious with many local foods. But the proprietor, Teresa, really made our stay perfect. She was very welcoming and provided a wealth of information. Hopefully we get to stay with er again!

Our host was incredibly sweet, helpful, and attentive. She offered great recommendations for daily activities. Breakfast each more was set out beautifully with a selection of local breads, meats, and cheeses. The house is gorgeous and located within walking distance to everything in town and directly on an open historic square. Would book here again anytime!
