The Lokal Fishtown "Garden Jawn" was such a beautiful, well-designed, elegant, airy and light-filled space. I arrived exhausted from travel and it was the perfect place to refresh and recover. The outdoor garden is a delightful quiet spot, the kitchen is a minimalist masterpiece, and the rainfall shower luxurious and refreshing. The passing El makes a lot of noise, but it quickly just fades into the background. I'll definitely stay at the Lokal again next time I'm in Philly!

First time with Hotel Lokal. Fantastic location and incredibly cool space! Kitchen is spacious and well stocked and bed and room were very comfy. The location is absolutely perfection for all of the Fishtown restaurants. The staff was also very communicative. I will be coming back.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The information emailed from the hotel was extremely complete, which made our arrival very smooth. There is paid parking just a one minute walk up the street. The building is secured with a key pad. The property itself is very lovely- clean, modern, well thought out. There is a beautiful courtyard with a table and chairs. Our room was beautiful, sparkling clean and contained everything we needed for the kitchen. It is just feet away from the train tracks, which does go by regularly, however the room is well soundproofed and it caused no more (actually less) noise than street traffic. If you are sensitive to sound they provide earplugs and also some rooms that do not face the tracks. The only improvement that could be made is that the Expedia listing does not explain the process for this hotel. They have no on site personnel, your room charge is paid 7 days prior to arrival, your checking information is emailed to you- a handy guide to the hotel and area is sent about a week before and your PIN for access to the building and room are sent the day before. If you don’t receive any emails you need to make sure to call the property and give them your email address. I only found out the process because I called them to confirm my reservation. The literally ONLY thing I would suggest they improve about the room itself is to replace the table top ironing board with a full size one. The table top one was a bit cumbersome.

The property was interesting and well designed but some things have not held up as well (missing penny floor tile in bathroom, bowing wooden floor planks) and the poor plants needed some TLC when we arrived. I also don’t recall in the description at booking that the room faced the train, and had a good view of it as it rode by.. it was loud but the windows were quite soundproof. Location was walkable to many restaurants but the street has lots of construction right now, and it is difficult to pull over to get out unless you pull up on the sidewalk. Parking is about a block away for $25 for 24 hours. Wish the tv could have been rotated to face the bed as well.

We really enjoyed our stay! Adorable neighborhood, with tons of restaurants and bars within walking distance. The room was exactly as pictured and was super clean and tidy. Invisible service was perfect, no hassle. If I could make any recommendations I would say to put the TV on a swivel arm so it can be viewed from the bed, as the couch is a little small for cozying up to a movie. Also, the walls are a bit thin. Overall, this was a 5-star stay for us - we never wanted to leave!

This is an amazing hotel in a terrific spot. Just steps from some of the best restaurant in the city. Room is appointed with many nice details and the kitchen in particular is super well equipped. Very clean. Cons- bed was super uncomfortable. No hair dryer that I could find? Super minimalist style was nice to look at but there was hardly anywhere to set anything, no drawers for clothes, no nightstand. Given the other aspects of the room/location I would still stay here again despite my back and neck still being sore from that bed.

Stayed here several times, great property overall. Exceptionally put together. Only concern is the cleaning crew - this is the second time they have opened the door a couple hours early to enter before my actual check-out time. Maybe a sign on the door is needed to let them know we are still inside to avoid disturbing us (especially if we are in our robes or something)

Lokal is a very stylish and comfortable hotel with one glaring caveat. The hotel is adjacent to the El train. This resulted in constant train noise all night long with the exception of 2-3 overnight hours when the train does not run. I was only able to sleep during those handful of hours. It is just too loud and disruptive. This would be an issue for all rooms facing the El which are the odd numbered rooms. I am not certain if the rooms on the other side of the building would be as loud. Those are the even numbered rooms.

Everything was great. The room was beautiful and comfortable. My only complaint is why there was a Black Lives Matter sign in the window. Why does my hotel need to be political? Its completely unnecessary.

It was cool. Location was great and staff were super accommodating by getting us to check in early. Clean and very nicely decorated property. Only qualm was neighbors in the building slamming doors at 1 am.

Great, large space. Lots of space and located within walking distance of many great restaurants and coffee shops. Only downside is that it's literally directly underneath a public transit line which runs constantly. If you're looking for peace and quite, this is not the spot for you. I didn't mind it so it wasn't an issue for me.

Nice place overall, good experience but the entry floors were slightly sticky. I had an issue with the hotel room door not unlocking but after a 5 minute conversation with someone this was resolved.

Staying at Lokal was great. They communicated everything in advance, took care of every question and detail, we’re responsive and pleasant. The apartment was beautiful and met all our needs. The Fishtown location is perfect walking distance to lots of great restaurants and bars and parking was right across the street.

Really nice rooms like above expectations. Comfortable beds and convenient location Nearby a lot of restaurants. And the nearby train was actually not as loud as I thought it would be. Only downsides was someone left some weird ice cream in the freezer and I’d say that some of the chairs weren’t that comfortable. Other than that it was really good and I’d highly recommend this hotel.

If you like Boutique Hotels you will probably like this one. For me, I had the feeling I was staying in an IKEA showroom and the walls were paper thin when it came to transmitting sound. It was Fishtown so the EL overpass was our scenic view. We just kept the shades down. If city noises bother you, stay away. Personally, I miss the human touch of a conventional hotel and I don't want to waste my time reading electronic material just so I can follow rules, operate the room and amenities. It was only one night and was close to the event I was attending so that was the plus for paying a large fee for no personal service or ice. Parking in a commercial lot was expensive on the weekend but, again, it is Philly.

Beautiful digs! Great neighborhood! Our unit faced the courtyard, and so we barely heard the train (which stops around midnight -6 am); it did not keep us up at all. Very peaceful and cofortable.
