I'm a truck driver delivering slot machines up there. Was lucky the weather cooperated and wasn't snowing or else it would have been treacherous to get up there. On top of a mountain But comfortable. The only thing that I didn't like was that there was no place to eat, no breakfast, and you had to walk down the mountain to the Golden Nugget sister property to have food at the restaurant which in the winter time, in the cold, wasn't a good option for me. Also the bed was extremely non-supportive. So if you like a very soft bed this place is for you. The staff was nice, kind And they do have a indoor pool that I didn't use but if I would have stayed there longer I would have. The most affordable hotel on the mountain is here so if you have to stay somewhere up there, this is the place.

We last minute needed a place to stay in Cripple Creek and this place looked nice and affordable. We were able to book and check in easy, however, the hotel and room were quite dirty. There was also a bandaid stuck on the inside of our door (?) We spent most of our time at a casino but the beds were comfortable and worked fine for the one night. Room service knocked on our door at 8:30am? Not sure why but that was kind of weird. Overall, not a super nice hotel but for one night and cheap, it wasn’t awful.

So the front desk staff was very friendly and the pool was perfect but with that being said.... We did not receive a room key (guess the system had an issue prior to our arrival) didnt receive one our entire stay and had to have staff let us in our room. They had no extra creamer or sugar only coffee pouches, there was no lid for our ice bucket, I asked if they had a spoon so that I could eat my yogurt that I brought and was told no they didn't...Didn't have anything for breakfast and didn't have any complimentry coffee made till close to 9. So yeah for the price and all the pros and cons that I experienced during my stay I wasn't very impressed and to be honest would have paid the extra to go to a different motel / hotel.

Our stay was ok. The cleanliness was less the subpar. Everyone in my family has blond hair and we found black hair on the shower walls and facial hair in the handle of the sink. The bedding was thin and my girls were cold most of the night. The hot tub was out of order and so was the steam room.

My granddaughters and I were very disappointed that the hot tub was broken/closed and the indoor pool was too cold to be at all comfortable. The bathtub had several long black hairs in it and was not clean enough to use.

When I first arrived I had a reservation. I didn’t arrive till around 5:30pm. The front desk lady had no customer service told me they didn’t have any rooms ready. I said umm check outs are 11 check ins are 4 and no rooms ready and she just said no like I was bothering her. So I asked how long before one would be ready and she said oh about an hour and a half to two hours I said you’re kidding right no she says again and that’s it. Very rude didn’t seem to care at all that I didn’t have a room ready nor did a few other people so I went down to the golden nugget, which is what two blocks and I asked that lady if they had any rooms and I told her my situation she’s like what’s your last name so I told her she looked me up on the screen and said oh your room is ready I said the girl just told me there was no rooms and the golden nugget lady said it was. Sorry, get back to back up the hill again tell the front desk lady that I went down to the Golden Nugget and they said my room is ready then she finally asked what is my last name because she didn’t the first time, so she was like yeah a couple rooms just opened not very happy with that girl whatsoever and a few others did not like her as well. Definitely would be a better place without her at the desk. Everything else was great!!! And all the other workers i encountered especially the cleaning guy. He was the best I had to go to the gas station down the street to get more cash so I could run back up there to give him a tip

I did like the quiet because it was away from the other casinos. The pool was awesome but the front desk lied and said that the pool and hot tub were operational and the hot tub was closed. I thought there was a continental breakfast but I was mistaken. We went off property for breakfast.

When we checked in and asked about the pool and hot tub, we were told the hot tub was broke and had been for a long time. He added the pool was warm and the exercise facility was open. The hot tub was full of brown water and the sauna was padlocked. The exercise room was very dirty.

The Gold King Mountain in has the most comfortable mattress I've ever had when staying in a hotel. I did have a problem with the fact that the tub/shower was not clean. Overall I would recommend this location as it is centrally located to all of the Cripple Creek locations.

Hotel was clean and check in was seamless. Every employee encountered was friendly. Lobby smelled like weed every time we returned to the hotel. Rooms were spacious and well equipped with fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Beds were a little soft and squeaky. Overall, it was a good stay. Wish the pool and hot tub had been operable.

First thing was trying to find it. I'm glad I had a navigation system in my car. It got me there, but would have had difficulty on my own. Room was quite large with two queen beds, mattresses a little bouncy, and TV system with limited channels for this day and age. A surprise was a large indoor pool and hot tub both clean and refreshing. No restaurant on site -- had to drive to sister location at casino. I guess it could be walked, but not easily. Overall a good stay.

Out of coffee by 7:30am. Refused to make more. Reservation made through Expedia didn't show up. Expedia had to call the hotel to get it straightened out. Bathroom sink is out in the bedroom so brushing teeth is visible to everyone in the room.

We got there and was told they didn’t have our reservation and we would have to find another place to stay. There was not another place available. My boyfriend ride his motorcycle all day from Parker and this was at 6 pm with rainy weather. There was no way he could ride back to Parker. Finally my son who came in from PA said to speak to a manager. I spoke to a manager over the phone and finally got a room. Then they wanted to charge me $198 instead of $164. Finally got the room for the same price. The 2 people working were great and it was beyond their problem. Was not worth it for the price.

The reservation I made through Expedia never made it to the actual hotel. Therefore I had no resevation. Could not stay. Had to drive an hour away to get a room. Extremely disappointed and frustrated with Expedia. Not sure if I will use Expedia again.

I didn’t realize when booking but there is a casino across the street and a lot of people come here for the casino. Even then, it wasn’t loud or uncomfortable in any way. We had an enjoyable stay and the area is absolutely gorgeous. The staff was nice and accommodating. The property could use some updating but for the price, it was nice.

The staff were very kind. However, that was just about it for us. Our beds were uncomfortable, one more so than the other. Our A/C sounded like a paper bag was stuck in it and kept us up all night. The pool and spa were out of service which was very disappointing for our four year old. Our TV would randomly turn off, once it was on it would buffer badly. There arent any places in town to grab a quick bite so breakfast would be a nice idea. We were very excited to stay here but it just didnt really live up to expectstion. Again, the staff is great! I need to remember that you get what you pay for next time.

To start with we called the hotel on our way to Cripple Creek, they could not find our reservation. We arrived 30 minutes later, and they still could could not find the find reservation for our two families. After a 30-45 minute wait, they finally gave us rooms. The one that we were in, there was dirty laundry in the draws of dresser, the shower curtain was ready to fall off the wall, the TV would not work. After asking about all these issues I was told they did not have staff to fix anything. They did give us another room that wasn't much better. The shower curtain was ready to fall off the wall, the room was not very clean at all. Then one reason we had booked here was that they had a pool. They did not saying anything before hand, once we arrived there was a posting on the wall coming in stating that their pool and hot tub were not available. Then once we asked about it, we were told that the hot tub could be used. We came up here for a wedding, so the hotel had quite a few guest for this wedding. Everyone I spoke with were so disappointed and said that they would never ever stay again. The hotel was almost just disgusting. From the upkeep to the ignorant staff at the front desk. Well I should not say all.. just the woman that was working the front desk. The gentleman was trying to do all he was capable of doing. This is diffidently not a place you really wanted to put anything on the floor, or even crawl in the bed.

We made reservations two weeks in advance of our stay. When we arrived to check in, we learned the pool and hot tub had been non-functional for the last week prior. Someone should have informed us so we could make other arrangements at a location that DID have a POOL and HOT TUB. This was incredibly unprofessional and poor business practice. In addition, we had so many gnats in our bathroom sink and they would not stop coming up through the drain (which had no drain cover or plug). It was disgusting.
