This is a hotel emphasize minimalism and zen feeling. As soon as you walk in you have the pressure to be very quiet. At first it was fine, after a few days of lack of interests to provide services from the staffs, it just makes me feel very cold. Hotel staffs seem like they’re afraid of you talking to them. A few are nice and smiley but kept their conversation minimal. Others just showing one question is too much especially one particular staff during check in time. Very uninterested and cold. One staff Chris is very nice though. They don’t clean and replace your tea cups and refill some basic stuffs like toothbrush and Q tips. But room is genuinely clean and comfortable. Except the design of window is low on the floor level. I bumped my head twice as there is a wall built above the low window. Very weird design. All windows are on the floor level. Walls at your eye level. And easy to bump your head everywhere.
On the last day when we were checking out, we saw a bug crawling in the room.

Wonderful hotel.
Roof top onsen was amazing.
Great location.
Will definitely be back.
4.5
Fabulous place and very convenient Onsen on the roof with a beautiful view! Only downside is that the room is very small but it’s like that in Tokyo…
4.5
Overall stay was great. Location was very convenient to 7-11 and resturant was convenient. All the staff were very helpful.
4.5
Beautiful tranquil spot in Tokyo! If you’ve never been to an Onsen before, this is a great place to start :) Friendly staff and pristine property near 7-11 for extra convenience. Loved it
4.5
The stay was great, staff was very friendly, and the room was clean and well kept. The room we did get was quite small, although expected for a basic room in Tokyo! If you plan to stay here with many luggage, I might recommend trying to get a bigger room.
Onsen was nice and relaxing. Couldn’t ask for a better view of the city from the bath.
4.5
Our stay was really incredible. The staff were so friendly, and the rooms were so nice and clean. If you stay here, definitely pay for the breakfast. It was one of the best things about the hotel. The onsen was beautiful as well. Definitely try to go at night for the onsen for the city view. Overall, 10/10 and would DEFINITELY recommend.

Hidden gem in Tokyo with great rooms, staff, onsen, restaurant. A welcome zen retreat from busy Tokyo.

This was incredible. Onsen: fanstatsic, Rooms: stunning, staff: brilliant. What a perfect stay for our first trip to Japan. Location was amazing, right across the road from an amazing 7/11 but more importantly great izakayas, restaurant and travel all very near by. Will be thinking of this place for a while and have already recommended to our friends!
4.5
A tranquil oasis. The onsen on 18th floor was a wonderful experience. Great value.
4.5
Loved the onsen, we arrived at midnight and were able to go straight into it after such a long day travelling as it shuts at 2am. Was a highlight of our trip.
4.5
Great place to stay!! the most comfortable beds and pillows ever!!!
4.5
The place is clean and organized. Onsen is really good but crowed at night. The room is really tiny. No extra space for visitors to seat and relax anywhere at hotel.
4.5
Beautiful hotel! The ONSEN view was incredible, still dreaming about it.
4.5
Onsen hotel in Tokyo. Great place to stay and recover from yet lag. The views from the Onsen are great especially at night. Please note anyone with Tattoos are not allowed in the Onsen. This is Std practice for whole of Japan.
4.5
Good stay, and enjoy the onsen very well.
A little be far from the traffic system.
There is a 7-eleven in front of the hotel, very good!
4.5
It was clean, comfortable and convenient. Would recommend.
4.5
The staff was excellent: helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. The cleanliness is top notch. I look forward to staying here on my next visit to Tokyo.

An absolute hidden gem in a great area with an amazing mineral bath on top of the building

We had the most wonderful stay here. A stunning hotel, and the onsen was incredible. The staff were so lovely. Would come back in an instant!

Beautiful aesthetics and very traditional Ryokan. As soon as you step your foot in they will make you feel very special. Property is very well kept as it was clean and remodeled. Staff are super friendly and welcoming. Private hot bath was also a very nice experience and the Japanese breakfast was beautiful and tasty. 5/5 highly recommended.
4.5
Beautiful entry and lobby with compact yet very convenient rooms. Loved the atmosphere and traditional style with modern conveniences. Great location
4.5
The excellent ratings didn’t lie. We had one of the small rooms and in spite of being huge North Americans, we loved it.
4.5
Room exactly as described. Warm in the room and comfortable bed. Good shower and hot water. We booked a small double so we knew the room would be small so this was fine. Just be aware there is limited space for bags etc. we have rebooked to come back in a few days.
4.5
The hotel is lovely, the location is handy for Shinjuku and we loved the Onsen!
4.5
It would be even better if the onsen area is larger
4.5
Very hot and no air circulation
4.5
The room was too small, the matress was too soft, can’t get hot drinking water.
4.5
It was nice
4.5
The hotel was very comfortable and quiet atmosphere
4.5
Enjoyed the onsen facilities, need to walk about 15mins tonthe subway.
4.5
The rooftop Onsen was the perfect way to end my stay in Tokyo. Rooms are small but clean, and the bed was comfortable. Was glad to see they had water stations on multiple floors. It is a short walk away from the most lively part of shinjuku, which made it feel a little more relaxing. About a 10 minute walk from the nearest subway line, and about 17 minutes from Shinjuku Station.
4.5
A bit far from subway
4.5
Loved staying at Yuen Onsen Shinjuku. Cleanliness of facilities are great. Onsen on top of hotel is nice to have.
4.5
It was too dusty.
4.5
A walkable distance to subway lines and the Shinjuku business area. There are several convenience stores around. All the staff we met are very friendly. We especially enjoy the hot spring on the top floor. It's a satisfying experience staying here.
4.5
On the edge of Shinjuku busy area. Good thing about this is it is quiet compares to the crowds and unsafe in Shinjuku 歌舞伎町 area. Then a little walk from the train / subway stations about 15 mins is needed everyday. I would still count it convenient. 7-11 and Family Mart just across from the facility. And 5mins walk, there is a York food supermarket, price is good. Hotel is very welcome and comfortable. Onsen at the top floor that I used every morning. Hotel staffs are super helpful and polite, this includes the front desk and cleaning staff. Definitely will stay again.
