Pleasant staff, helpful. Pity about the weather but there was nothing they could do about that!

Clean comfy room, good food, close to shops & helpful attentive staff.

It was absolutely fine nice hotel nice rooms only downside is the hotel due to its town center location doesn’t have a carpark but there a carpark 5 minutes walk away. Also you can park outside for an hour so you don’t have to walk with your bags

Nice hotel in centre of town. Friendly staff.

Rooms were clean however stayed for 2 nights and not cleaned on second day.
Disappointed that we were unable to have a coffee after 9pm???

Great staff and location!
3.0
No lift to top floors
Noise what would appear to be fans from kitchen

Everything was great. Only downside was parking but wasn't a major issue

The booking was smooth but we got there around 2am (had pre-infirmed the staff that we'd be arriving late) and the doors were locked, no doorbell to alert the reception , the number given on the door to ring was incorrect and neither was anyone at the reception. Had to knock around and hope someone would see us and eventually the receptionist did.
Check-in was smooth once we got into the hotel and the room was pretty standard.
Not good - not bad.. pretty average I'd say.

Great Location, easy check in & out, clean, good service, plenty of character and quiet enough for a good nights sleep

Staff very friendly and helpful.
We did not get the room we booked. Less beds. The shower had no power. They put us at the very top of the building with no lift when we were older. Watch out if you don’t want to walk up and down 45 steps.

Room was perfect for me for a 1 night stay. I was sorry there was no lift but I understand the problems with a listed building. I was on the 2nd floor but will certainly ask for 1st or ground floor next time.

Very outdated. Service was slightly below standard

The hotel is in the town centre but is quiet. Our room was adequately furnished, clean and comfortable. Information in the room assured me that there would be plant based milk alternatives for breakfast, so I decided to pay for breakfast in the hotel instead of going out to a cafe. In fact there was only dairy milk available, but I wasn't told until Id already started my breakfast.

There is no parking. Instead of offering you a voucher for the parking, they appear to blame you for not knowing.

Check in was fine, manager told us restaurant open til 9pm for food, did not recommend us to book, around 6.30pm we came down to eat & told tables were fully booked and were not even serving food in bar area as too busy. Room was in need of update, very sloping floor, bathroom looked dirty & tired. Definitely not worth the money we paid.

Excellent location in the town centre with easy walking access to the cathedral and the canal basin. I had a clean and comfortable room with a nice en suite. Breakfast and dinner were very good. A pity there's no lift but I was warned about that and I managed the 2 flights of stairs despite being 70 and lame. I would certainly like to stay at the Wellington again.

May fair! Directly outside our window from 1st night set up to dismantle until midnight. 3 days of LOUD noise! No secondary glazing and window didn’t shut completely. Should have been warned when booking!! 4th day beer delivery directly below our room!! No sleep at all. Luke warm water so no bath just very quick shower. Had to ask for fresh towels and toilet roll on day 3. Shower rail and radiator falling off wall and mould in bathroom.

Lovely old building staff very helpful
clean bedroom but bathroom was a bit tired, the tile grout was discoloured, toilet roll holder detached and no hook on the door. Drains gurgled when you let water out of the basin radiator made strange noise in the night.

Nicely done rooms and hotel but not as clean as some I’ve been in. The food being served as not of the level of the price paid. The staff were very very lovely and friendly, couldn’t fault them.

The hotel is nicely decorated and very clean. Shower took a long time to warm up but when it did it was fine. The beds ate really comfy. Sunday lunch was lovely and the staff are friendly.

Room was ok. Mattress could have been better but had worse. No toilet paper at all. For a night or two it’s ok but not longer really.

The Wellington is a lovely place in the middle of town, a real wood fire in the middle of the pub and a great menu. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Only down fall is the parking but there are plenty of carpacks near to the hotel.
