We had meetings in nearby Lugazi and originally planned to stay in the town.
However, when the option of staying in the nearby rainforest came up, I decided the cool of the forest and its quietness where a far better option.

This hotel is so rundown and disgusting. The pool was so dirty. The baby pool didn't even have water. The pool bar was not in use. The pool toilets didn't work and were extremely unhygienic. The furniture around the pool is all broken bits of timber. Nothing has been maintained. The place looks like an abandoned hotel from a horror movie.
The rooms had mold covering the ceiling. The curtains were filthy. There was no hot water. The pillows and mattresses were old and uncomfortable. The blankets had holes in them from rats. There was even a rat in one of our rooms!
Due to the toilets not working is our room, or in my sisters room, they moved us to new rooms.
The toilets there didn't work there either. There was still mold on the ceiling (although less than the other room) and really dirty curtains.
One of the staff did stay until around 9:30pm to fix one toilet for us in which we were grateful.
The restaurant was dirty and stone slate pathways covered in slippery mold. The food served wasn't fresh.
The whole experience was so disappointing and unpleasant. Especially at the high prices they charge - we expected more.
The pictures on hotels.com are nothing like the hotel offered.
As we had booked and paid for 2 nights through hotels.com, we tried to get a refund for the second night but the hotel refused.
We are still trying to get a refund through hotels.com.

My wife and I spent one night here. The hotel is very nicely located in the rainforest and you can see monkeys and birds right from the lodge. You can also do walks directly from the hotel.
The staff were really friendly and the room was very comfortable and spacious although a little dark even with all the lights on. Food was good. The WiFi did not work while we were here and we did not use the pool but it looked nice. The only other downside was the bar was out of a couple of drinks (no Nile or Campari).
Other than that it was a very peaceful stay and the staff were lovely. Food was good. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

The lodge is situated beautifully in what feels like the middle of the rainforest, very nice, comfortable and clean facilities and the friendliest of staff! We thoroughly enjoyed our two nights there, including an easy drive into Jinja for a day trip. The only minor things we were less thrilled about were our noisy neighbors (the walls are paper thin, which works great for the sounds of nature, but also let you hear all conversations and other sounds from your cohabitants) and the fact that the bar was out of tonic water both days, manageable :)

I had the worst experience. I booked for 3 nights accommodation about 3 day’s before travel. As we approached the lodge on Jinja road we tried to call for finer detail directions. The phone number provided on the website did work. As a matter of fact that was the case since two days earlier when I tried to call the lodge website number. Eventually we got through to a person called Helen. She was most unhelpful. She also broke the terrible mews that although our booking had been confirmed by Expedia at least 2 days back the lodge was full and they had no accommodation for us. This was a shock because nobody had informed us all this time until we were only a few kms to arrive at the lodge. At the lodge although the reception desk was friendly they told us they couldn’t help because they never received our booking via Expedia. We demanded REFUND which we needed to get alternative accommodation but all efforts failed. Finally, when it was getting dark there at the lodge in the middle of the thick Mabira forest we decided to go and seek alternative accommodation in Kampala City, the capital of Uganda. In my professional career and as a tourist I have traveled to all the continents and stayed in numerous hotels but this was by far my worst experience. It was very frustrating & also involved security risks because we had to look for alternative accommodation in the middle of the night. We incurred additional costs in transportation that we had not planned,
