Gorgeous property! Super comfortable beds and soft linens. We had a shared bathroom but never saw the other guests so it felt private. Highly recommend!

This is a historic bed and breakfast in a great location. Room was fine and because its a historic hotel we had to share a bathroom, however this never posed a problem. The breakfast part was less than average. What is missing is the charm of staying in a historic B&B which typically means special touches and a warm host.

Loved this place. They make you feel so welcomed and the space is beautiful and amazing.

This was a very unique experience and we're so glad we got to stay here. I booked early to secure the great room. Very spacious room and bathroom. The property is very old but that's what was intriguing to us. Everything in Salem is walkable from here. Would highly recommend!

Perfect location for walking to everything. The house itself is so interesting and full of history. We stayed in the East India room and our beds were so comfortable and cozy. Beautifully decorated, quiet and relaxing. We loved that there were snacks and drinks available pretty much all day and evening as most places do not seem to open very early in Salem (and we are early risers). Would not hesitate to stay here again.

VERY EXPENSIVE, POOR CANCELATION POLICY, POOR PARKING POLICY, VERY LIMITED BREAKFAST.

We really like staying at unique or historical properties. The Daniels house was both. The Hostess at breakfast was very friendly and helpful with our questions about parking for my brother who was coming to meet us. Would stay here again. The only con would be thevceiling height in the 3rd floor rooms.

More communication with the staff would have been better as well as making sure each occupant is doing what is ask. I understand sharing a bathroom in a colonial house is a hard thing but if you are making people follow rules then you should not book two families in that floor.

Great location within walking distance to all the sites and shops. Room was neat and clean as was the common areas. Definitely would stay again.

I booked Daniel’s House as it is the oldest inn in Salem but also because they offered free breakfast each morning so I thought that would save us money. It cost nearly £200 per night and the bed was very comfortable, the room was big and both the bedroom and bathroom were spotlessly clean. The only think that let it down for us was the breakfast. The bread and muffins were under a plastic lidded container but were left out all the time, and I found it all to be dry and slightly hard and even after toasting I just couldn’t eat it. Coffee was good and there was fruit and cereal bars, but comparing to other places to stay in Salem, I don’t think this was worth the £200 per night seeing as we then had to buy breakfast each morning at one of the local eateries.
The location was great but they also charge a $10 baggage hold which ruined our plans for the day we left as we thought $30 to hold 3 bags was crazy, I’ve never had to pay for baggage storage before whether we’ve stayed in hotels or B+Bs so we didn’t and that meant we couldn’t visit one of the attractions that we’d planned to

Daniels House was a unique experience. Walkable and safe to All the sights. Highly recommend.

Great stay at Daniels House! I would recommend as it’s super convenient and walkable to most everything in Salem. They did provide parking pass which was awesome as parking in Salem is non-existent and wouldn’t recommend driving. Only negative was that the key pad at front door was a bit tricky and other patrons weren’t closing it properly so it was left open Overnight.

The shared bathroom made me feel like we were spending the night at a friends house. If I caught that in the description I would have probably stayed elsewhere. I may have also missed the part about the low ceilings. At 6’3” I hit my head several times. I can’t review the staff because I never met them. I can’t review the breakfast because we didn’t go to it. The bed was comfortable and the decor of the house was cool. Everything was within walking distance which was cool. If you you don’t mind the shared bathroom I say go for it. If you’re tall I would ask about one of their other rooms (not the Marion room) that may have higher ceilings.

Everything was great. The only thing I would have to say is that they can improve their breakfast. It was just ok. I stayed in the East India room which was great but I would not reserve a room with a shared bathroom ever again. But that is our opinion after having the experience of having to share it with other guest room.

My friend and I traveled to Salem for a brief overnight trip. We could not recommend the Daniels house more. We were assigned to the Great Room which was huge. We also were given access to the private driveway for parking (perhaps that’s the parking space that goes with the great room).
The room and bathroom were both very generous in size. The king sized bed was so comfortable we slept so well. When we stayed in Salem it was super hot/humid and they had the room at a wonderful temp upon our arrival.
The Inn was also very quiet. I expected squeaky floors with it being an holder home and that wasn’t an issue either.
I also loved their check-in, check- out online system. It’s personable, informative, and helpful. We also feel like they vet their guests a bit and every gets a personal code to access the building- it felt very safe to us as well.
The breakfast was more like a hotel breakfast but it was perfect. Water, OJ, self serve coffee and house teas, assorted breads, PB and jelly, cream cheese, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, fruit, cereal etc. they also asked if we had any preferences (allergies etc) prior to our stay.
We also met the manager and he was so kind and helpful!
Would highly recommend and stay there again.

We stayed in the India room. Dark. Bad lighting. Small windows. Very lttle natural light. On window has a/c unit in it. Doors thin and hard to open and clise. One electric outlet.

Beautiful B and B, very easy registration and check out all on my phone. Great patio area to enjoy the ocean breeze.

The Marion room was spacious and very comfortable. The room and hall bathroom were spotless. Patrick, the owner, was gracious and gave me a tour of the kitchen and dining room.
We were able to walk to the Hawthorne Hotel where we were attending a wedding. All in all it was a very pleasant stay and fun town to visit

We loved the Marion room!! My partner and I are not tall people so the low ceiling did not bother us in the least…
Bed was comfortable and the (shared) bathroom was spotless

Lovely old property in one of the older parts of Salem. Immaculately restored and sympathetically decorated as a historical building. As with all old buildings the floors creak and groan and sound proofing is unmodernised. But heaps of charm, great location, just 5 minutes from the harbour and 12 minutes from downtown by foot.

Very cool place to stay! Room was just as described online. We did get confused on whether we had to share our 2nd floor bathroom (but No, it was all ours!) Bed was so super comfy. Plenty of room including small fridge, microwave, large bathroom. I will say our Great Room shower was a little tricky (water pressure & temperature were great!) but we struggled showering and not getting the floor wet. Just a heads up for anyone (like myself) that is used to noise while sleeping - Bring a Fan!! It’s very quiet (until you hear your neighbors moving around/coming in and out) But that comes along with the age of this beautiful home! Owners are wonderful & accommodating. Breakfast was simple but awesome! The area/neighborhood around was very pretty & peaceful. We walked everywhere. Really enjoyed our 2 days here!

Visited the Daniels House with friends and family for my sisters birthday. Everything was so wonderful. The house is impeccably cared for and the overall vibe is pure magic. It’s in a great location with easy access to all that Salem has to offer. Communication with the property owner was great before, during, and after our stay. My only issue, and I would barley call it an issue, was the bed in the Marian Room. The mattress and bed linens were very comfortable, but the bed itself was very creaky. Taking everything else I to account though, it was very easy to overlook. 10/10 would recommend.

The place was very stylish and unique. Very well decorated and maintained. Room, bathroom, sheets and towels were very clean. The entire house was beautiful. We felt like we were living in 1600th. Thank you.

This little bed and breakfast was so beautifully kept by the owners! They really transported us back to the late 1600s.

The Daniel's House is an amazing piece of history and a wonderful place to stay. We couldn’t have asked for more in such a historical house in Salem!

Amazing to submerse yourself in history. Beautiful decor and preserved. Patrick and his girls were super friendly and Vijay is a wealth of information and accommodating. Not recommended for people with physical disabilities. Completely secure and safe.

Vijay the resident historian made this property come to life! He is indispensable for this B&B to thrive.

The Daniels House B&B was a lovely place to stay. The home was built hundreds of years ago and still retained much of the charm of that era. Our hosts were very kind and helpful as needed—extra towels.. parking early, etc.
One note—on Orbitz the listing does not tell you that if you book the east India room with two double beds that you will be sharing a bathroom with everyone on the third floor. That would have been a deal breaker for us. It was very awkward. With a family of four.. using showers and the bathroom took a lot of time and it’s uncomfortable feeling like you’re putting other people out. Just be aware.
Other than that the house was lovely… we would have loved to have taken the tour of the historic home but our flight was changed and our time in Salem was cut very short. We would definitely stay here again but would try for a room with an en-suite.

Our first stay at a B&B and I can’t imagine going back to a noisy motel/hotel experience. The Daniel House was absolutely beautiful. It was like being transported back in time. Will definitely be our home away from home next time we head out to Salem.

A warm welcome. An amazing property. A gem of American colonial history.

The property itself, location, and host were all excellent. The house is fantastic, and our bedroom very spacious. Breakfast was a 10 dollar voucher each for a nearby diner, which was also very nice. Would stay here again if we went back to Salem.

I loved Daniels house. It is a beautiful B& B. The decor was beautiful with period antiques with the modern comforts (comfortable bed, good lighting, nice tub and tv) The B & B owners were attentive, accommodating, friendly and helpful. I highly recommend a stay here for a romantic getaway. It's location is excellent and you can walk all over Salem if you are so inclined. I will be back. Due to the Corona Virus they aren't doing breakfast instead they give you a 10 $ per person voucher to Red's which was so so good. You won't be disappointed if you choose to stay at Daniels' House.
