I stayed in a king size suite with a balcony. It was absolutely wonderful. The staff was friendly and helpful.

We had booked a room with a lake view. Got a room on the opposite side facing the highway and some houses. The lady at reception was very sorry and helpful but they did not have those rooms available. She got us a room with partial lake view and arranged a reasonable discount.
Breakfast was good and big, but the service in the restaurant was not good. We also had not been given the breakfast vouchers so had to go back to get them.
The place is nice and beautiful, but the staffing and service processes could be improved.
We also had some bad luck with them having a loud wedding party that night, some loud people in the courtyard under our window till about 1am, and then somebody taking a dog out at 3 am, barking for a long time until another guest started shouting at them from his window.
This was not quite the experience we were expecting.

Room was not cleaned despite repeated request.

My fiancé and I enjoyed the stay immensely and liked all the extras that were available and the proximity to all the places we wanted to visit. The view from the boathouse was stunning.

Lovely spot. We enjoyed our time, we did happen to stay during a transition to new ownership, so restaurant was closed. Wish we could have seen it in full service. Views are great and staff are very helpful. Saranac Lake is great for families

Very nice property with great options in exercise room. Pool and hot tub were enjoyable as well. We appreciated the outdoor space options to view the scenery. There were kayaks to rent from a local business next to the hotel, and a fun ice cream stand right off the property's parking lot. Definitely would stay again.

They allow barking dogs in the rooms!!! I don’t want to sleep in the same bed as someone’s dog.

We hike the high peaks and this hotel is in a perfect location. Hotel is very nice and staff was very attentive. Food in Boathouse was great too.

Beautiful location, lovely hotel, very uncomplicated. Doesn't have the usual rustic Adirondack feeling, but staff are helpful and professional, if not the more usual "folksy" I've been accustomed to in that area.

Ownership changed during our stay. The new management honors their promise of quality and service. We will definitely return.

The hotel is beautiful inside and out. Modern furnishings with unique decor. Incredibly soft bed and good towels.

The Saturday wedding was too loud.
The people above us walked around all night.
Horrible time trying to sleep Saturday night.

Nice hotel - pleasant staff - stay away from onsite Boathouse Restaurant - terrible staff and service - mediocre overpriced food - the view is the only plus.

Everything was great about the hotel. Unfortunately while we were there the main onsite restaurant was closed without reason and they offered a continental morning breakfast as the replacement. The breakfast was embarrassing. It was coffee in urns with mini muffins from the store, bagels in a box without any butter, jam or cream cheese. I had to ask for milk for the coffee and one employee said, “we have yogurt back in a fridge if you want.” How would we have known about the yogurt if I hadn’t asked for milk? At check in and the check out the Manager with nice red hair was stand-offish and avoided eye contact. She said on check out “how do you want to pay?” We said we paid a while ago on Expedia - she said “you probably did, ok here’s your receipt”. Other than that great place to hang out.

Room and hotel grounds very clean. Only complaint the bathroom was very small.

We chose this hotel because it was slightly away from Lake Placid and the touristy area. It’s a great place to stay; quiet. Nice pool and jacuzzi. My only complaint, I could hear the family of kids stomping above us. Otherwise, very clean hotel!

The hotel was lovely, clean and well maintained. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Only downside was the Boathouse Restaurant onsite which is owned by the owners of the hotel but markedly poorly managed in contrast to the hotel. Service at two breakfasts and a dinner was extremely slow (although servers were lovely and trying very hard with the woeful understaffing). One meal at the dinner had not been properly prepared (the shrimp had not been cleaned), we advised them but the concern was sloughed off. Would happily stay at this hotel again but would eat at one of the lovely restaurants in town.

The property could use some trimming and clean up of the grounds and the hallways should be cleaned more frequently.

Excellent, grounds, excellent room.
4.0 / 5.0
The property was nice and rooms simple. The rooms could be bigger and the showers wider. The sound insulation between floors is not the best - I could hear people stomping around their room above us. The associated restaurant is about a 7/10. Overall, it is an OK alternative to busy Lake Placid only 9 miles away.

This is a newer property. It is certainly clean, everything works, and technically has everything you might need for a stay (pool, spa, workout room, etc.), but the overall feeling is rather bland and lacking in warmth or any sort of personality. The attached Boat House restaurant was fine, but short staffed during both breakfast and dinner, which led to longer wait times for service.

The hotel was very nice and the girl at the front desk when we got there was nice. We had to leave a day early and they didn’t give us a problem about that. Would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful hotel. Everything is new. Very clean. Friendly staff. The restaurant right next to it attached to the building has awasome food and Friendly staff.

We were able to check in early, the location is beautiful right on lake flower, the restaurant had great food! The rooms are nice and comfortable and clean!

Beautiful exterior, beautiful interior……but don’t let the advertisement fool you. The pool they show is NOT at this hotel, it isn’t even outside. It’s a 5’ deep by 10 foot long bathtub. The hotel in its common areas was clean and beautiful, but the pound of long black hair under the pop-up cover in the shower caused it to flood the bathroom forcing us to change rooms at 9 at night. They gave us 2 breakfast vouchers (up to $25) which we decided to hold for the last morning of our stay. We walked in to the restaurant, only one other table occupied. We were told by the waitress “sit wherever”. No hello, no good morning. Ok. When she finally makes her way over to us, she has air pods in, doesn’t introduce herself just hands us two menus and walks off. After sitting for 5 more minutes with no one in sight, I set a timer and told my son if we don’t see her before this goes off we are out. Needless to say, we were on our way 5 minutes later. We handed our vouchers back in at the desk and said we wouldn’t be needing those, and drove over to Lake Placid where we had a fantastic breakfast at Generations and continued on with a great day at the Olympic Center.

Inside hotel was great-its just the outside grounds looked run down, weeds all around, duck poop all over the lawn. Its a great location but they should take better care of the outside area's.

Hotel is very good. Quiet, clean and pleasant
We went to the hotel restaurant . Be aware.
Horrible food, slow setvice.
They should get chef that has at least some sense taste and flavor.

Staff friendly
Design crisp with a cool mixed Adirondack feel but not over the top. It is a airy and welcoming lobby design
Large Light Gold Glass in lobby mimic antlers very cool.
Chairs around fireplace- comfortable
Pillows on chairs cool design
Bar could use an attendant? Happy hour?
Or a welcome water and lemon self serve.
Rug round- sharpe too!
Room with water view a plus I paid extra for. Not sure how much a balcony water view would have been? Same price?
Room cost $297 on high end compared to some in Lake Placid. Those one was select because those in LP and Saranac the furnishings looked old with a few new furnishings. Their objects like rugs looked very old. Beds in other hotels looked dated with old headboard designs. ( mattresses old possibly. Lobby look nice, but the rooms look sparse with all the furnishings.
Some the lobby look beautiful, but the room &
bathroom, the entrance to the rooms especially did not.
Many had exterior entrances to the room that I don’t consider as safe as interior.
This hotel was a complete new build. Linens,
beds excellent!
Quiet vs hotels “in town.”
Convenient with a boathouse and back with seating for dinner on the water with no way or line.
Ice cream stand again, conveniently located only a few feet away with generous scoops of hard and soft ice cream.
Return to the hotel to enjoy around a beautiful fire pit overlooking the water.
Staff very friendly and helpful. They Found my phone cord left behind in room. Thank you!
