The hotel itself is lovely and the room was very nice. They don’t help you with luggage. The food in the restaurant could be improved. Spa is great. Outdoor bar on terrace is great.

Be prepared to pay 18% more for room service. The room was so small it was hard to have room to get dressed. The bathroom did not have a tub. They could not arrange for a small fridge for our room. We travel and this is not on our destination list. This hotel, though close to the hospital , does not offer any medical discount. We reserved online and apparently amenities cannot be accommodated when you go online.

No choice but to stay here. Checked in at 10, paid 400.00 for the tiniest room with no microwave, no fridge and the room was so close to the next room over I felt like I had a roommate. Highway robbery

Loved everything, except that the room did not have a mini fridge. We were staying and doing alot of hiking so it would have been helpful to be able to keep some food items in a fridge. My fauly for not checking before rebooking but I did not realize it was not a mandatory amenity in a hotel anymore.

One of the days my room was not serviced. I asked to be in the main hotel and I was placed in an adjacent building. I did not have a good experience. I asked to change my room but they would not accommodate my request.

The bar was a great place to relax after a 4 1/2 hour road trip. Shower was great! Just miss not having coffee in my room. I understand it would be difficult to fit it into the room. Breakfast in the restaurant was a treat especially before the Timber Sport Competition at Paul Smith College.

We loved the Hotel Saranac. It is a beautiful old hotel located in the downtown area just steps away from shops and restaurants. Be forewarned, the rooms are small, but filled with charm, well appointed and very comfortable. Everything was spotlessly clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel restaurant is very good and well worth a visit. We will definitely be back.

My only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars was how the bathroom was laid out. You have to get into the shower to turn it on, and outside of the shower the towel bar is placed higher than most I have encountered. Also I am not a fan of bowl sinks. However - the rest of the room was very nicely planned , and very clean. I had not been in years, and it was nice to see the property restored so well. I would definitely come back. Staff was very pleasant and helpful.
