We loved the style of the room/design of the hotel and it was a pretty good location. The bathroom was quite small compared to some other places we stayed throughout Japan, but it had everything we needed (so no real complaint). The 2 twin beds is perfect for a friend trip for everyone to have their own space while sleeping. The one thing we noticed here and throughout Japan is that the beds/pillows can be quite hard, but great duvet covers and easy lighting/outlet situation throughout the room.

Nice hotel close to Kyoto station.

The staff was friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make our stay run smoothly.

Wonderful experience…beautiful design in modernized ryokan style seems best description—mattress beds on raised tatami platform. Nice onsen in basement. Staff very helpful eg with taxis. It’s a little away from subway—but coffee shops and izakaya a few minutes away.

Brand new hotel located 20 min drive from the Gion area. The hotel is brand new and eco friendly offering great experience to their guests . The rooms are quite small but overall it’s very recommended

From check in to checkout, we felt catered to! Our room (king with garden terrace) was spacious, silent, and gorgeous! Great if you want a traditional ryokan experience with modern, thoughtful touches. Hotel staff arranged taxis and restaurant reservations for us that were also spectacular. Food and amenities on property were also top tier HIGHLY recommend

Loved the ambience of this property. By far my favorite stay during my trip.

This hotel was really modern and clean. Walking distance to Kyoto station and dining area. Also there is bar and restaurant on grand floor too. Me and my mom had Japanese style breakfast as cooking with Kyoto vegetables. It was delicious!!!
Highly recommend!

Good hotel, great breakfast. Staff were a little confused by my request for allergy friendly bedding and that was stressful. The bathroom fan would also not turn off so that was annoying.

The hotel is clean and feels new, staff are nice. Noise between rooms is a big problem, one night I couldn’t sleep due to doors being opened and closed til 4am. Rooms are very small, really only suitable for one person with one case. Nice area but quiet with not a huge amount around but about 15 mins walk to Kyoto station. Photo is the “view”!!

Cool, modern hotel. Easy walk from Kyoto station and easy walks to buses and subway. Room super quiet. Wonderful breakfast. I really enjoyed my three nights there.

Pros: Nicely designed hotel. Modern and new. Close to train station. Really nice showers in room with good water pressure. Nice shampoos, body washes, etc. Great onsen on site, closes late at 1am.
Cons: Seems many windows in room were frosted and could not see outside. Pillows were foam and not that comfortable. Not many dining options nearby. Usually need to walk/bus to get anywhere.

Clean, comfortable and great location. Staff was friendly and thorough and was responsive at all times. Everything exceeded my expectations.

The hot bath was really relaxing with lots of ammenties like lotion etc available. Hotel Japanese style breakfast was worth a try and also take the bus 50 outside the hotel to skip walking 11mins everyday to Kyoto station !

Bed was very comfortable and was a modern take on the traditional. Bathroom was small, like most in Japan.

We loved this hotel. We had the superior queen room, which was a pretty decent size. The hotel staff were some of the best, most friendly and professional we have encountered, anywhere. The breakfast was something we really looked forward to every morning. The location is convenient for walking to the train station. The hotel looks absolutely beautiful. The public bath was a great intro to public bathing in Japan (whether it be baths or onsen). The self-serve laundry facilities were very handy and not unreasonably priced. The bar is very pleasant place to kick back in the evening with a plum wine or craft beer, the bar snacks are very tasty too. If we are ever back in Kyoto, which I hope we will be, we would happily stay here again.

This place is fantastic, I would recommend it. Best described as a modern Ryokan. Only downside is that it a bit out of the way, and there was construction near when I was visiting. However, Kyoto station and tower is walkable (10-15 min).

We stayed for 5 nights (4 rooms) and the daily cleaning could be better. There were still dust balls collecting in corners of the room. We liked the amenities like the daily teas for guests in the restaurant.

Hotel feels relatively new and upscale. The room was comfortable if a bit cramped. There is no place to store large luggage or unpack your bags during extended stays. Also, no desk/desk-height chair to do any work. Still, the futon was very comfortable and it was very very quiet.
The staff were extremely approachable (even with the language barrier) and friendly.

Great little stay, good location, classy room, helpful staff. Hard bed and pillow (for British Standards).
The only thing that was annoying was my wife’s pyjama top must have been picked up with the bedding and it’s gone missing.
We told the hotel but nobody ever got back to us and nobody responded to our chasing email, shame as it was her Wedding Pyjamas.

it's hard to clean in such dark environment for cleaner. Some dust around in corner such TV, lights.

Design was great! I loved the coziness of the place! The staff were very nice and helpful. Check in and out was done through a kiosk making it very easy to manage.

I booked two rooms. I requested to make my room in the morning. When i came back in the evening, both rooms were not cleaned at all. Trash cans were not emptied, bed was not made, didn't picked up the used towel, robes were not replaced. They just left a set of new towels on the messy bed. For my friend's room, they emptied the trash can, but bed was not made, and re-folded used towels and put it on the bed with a new set of towels. It was very strange. When i asked the staff, one staff said it is a total mistake, but another staff who my friend talked to said it is the usual way to clean the guest room.

the staff is very nice when i check in eventhough its in the afternoon and the weather is good but she remind me to have a coat as the temperature will go down after sunset. The space for the luggage is very limit although I am a solo traveller with one suite case.

I had amazing stay (8 nights) at this hotel
- great location wich easy access to Kyoto station (on foot or by bus nb 50), the neighborhood is quite quiet and food options are close
- good room size and simple Japanese style and decorations, firm futon mattresses but that's what I love
- great attention to detail, an added bonus - there is an onsen in the hotel
- the only negative was construction going on in front of the hotel (Nov 2022). Luckily got a room in the wing from the other side. Probably for this reason the price was also great
