Good enough hotel but too pricy.

It was better than most 5 star hotels I have stayed at, it might even be in the top 2 hotels ever. The rooms are beautiful, the service exceptional, the comfort of beds is incomparable. We would have loved to stay longer but only had 2 nights. There is a very nice rain shower and the toiletries are amazing as well. They give very nice bath salts. We made the most our stay there.

Wonderful staff. Excellent breakfast. Exquisite beds, bedding, PJs, robes. Adored our stay here.
4.8
Well appointed rooms with graceful and impeccable service. The garden that offsets the lobby and lounge and restaurant is an oasis of calm in and of itself.
4.8
The staff is very nice. The rooms and common areas are beautifully appointed. I would definitely stay here again if I were to visit Kyoto again in the future.

What a gem!! Staff was wonderful and goes above and beyond to help you have a great experience
They recognize you the next day after you check in - you are not just a face in the crowd. Housekeeping keeps the place so clean and breakfast was amazing !!

We had an amazing stay. Everything about the experience was 5 star.

The Hotel is located away for the city center and in a quieter area, but Uber/Taxi are relatively cheap to get around in Kyoto. The staff is very attentive, and the hotel property is very well maintained. Food is a bit pricy but great tasting and excellent presentation. Would stay again.

This hotel is perfect for Kyoto! Great location, beautiful hotel, incredible service. Perfect!
4.8
Amazing service by an extremely friendly staff. Meet the general manager and he most helpful in suggestion places to go and places to eat.

I cannot say enough good things about the Hotel Okura Kyoto Okazaki Bettei. First, it was luxurious, new, clean, well staffed and convenient to all of Kyoto sightseeing. Second, the intimate luxury accomodations were neither too small or too large. We got to know all personnel by name. Management was very chill and accommodated our every request. Third, our room's amenities were top notch and no detail was overlooked. We particularly enjoyed the confortable bedding and oversized TV with Netflix access. Lastly, meals, including breakfast, were delicious and appealing to the eye. In conclusion, we are glad we chose this hotel over some of the bigger corporate names we might know in the US. The hotel was totally fantastic and we felt aw if we were at home. The general manager, Mr. Shinkawa is a gentelman and a star and will see to your every need.

Lovely hotel with a gorgeous breakfast and wonderful staff. There isn’t a lot around it though so you’ll need to Uber or cab it everywhere.
4.8
This hotel had the best English speaking, friendly, respectful staff in Japan. Our rooms had beautiful view of the temple and really enjoyed our breakfast at the hotel as well. The hotel is fairly new and beautiful!
4.8
Amazing hotel with great service. The staff really takes good care of you.

A beautiful building in a great location with a friendly atmosphere and very helpful and accommodating staff. I would rate their service even higher if I could.
4.8
Very modern building, staff is very nice and friendly, room was extremely clean, breakfast is really good

A great hotel with excellent service if you like luxury a little outside the city center, but still close. You need to be aware that it is a big difference on rooms facing the garden and the street. The reason you want to be there is to face the garden and the view to the shrine. The restaurant concept is kind of a miss so prepare to eat outside. Lobby menu is ok, but you sit in uncomfortable chairs for dining outside the emty restaurant with set french meny which seems silly. Breakfast is excellent. There are many good restaurants in short distance. All in all very good if you know what yoy buy.
4.8
Their service is perfect. That’s nice for us.

5 star stay

Excellent staff, with a great sense of hospitality. Very clean rooms and very excellent service. Breakfast was delicious. The staff was very courteous and very kind. Would very much recommend this location to others and I definitely plan on staying here for my future trips in kyoto.
4.8
Exquisite new hotel. Fine service. Rooms standard plus. Breakfast superb.
4.8
My mom and I really enjoyed our stay. We could see a temple from our hotel. That was really nice. The hotel staff were super friendly and accommodating. Everyone communicates in English well, so that makes things super smooth for us. Breakfast was fantastic. The only reason I didn't give full score for service was because we had to wait for quite some time for our breakfast to come on the second day. We were not in a rush, so it was fine, but it would have been stressful if we had been.
4.8
This is a premium hotel. The service and staff were accommodating and very gracious. The room and surrounding area were spectacular. I would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting to create a wonderful Kyoto experience. We will be back.

Amazing service. Fantastic food and presentation in hotel restaurant. Very comfortable and beautifully designed room with everything you could possibly need provided. Attention to detail in everything. We wished we could have stayed longer.
4.8
Beautiful garden and quiet place. Friendly staff. However, breakfast comes out slowly and requests are not communicated well.
4.8
A very nice stylish property. The breakfast is excellent. The location is not great for sightseeing however.

It’s very clean and neat. Japanese style hotel. Stuffs are very kind.
4.8
Our favorite hotel in Japan! The atmosphere was so special that it really felt like home to us. Our rooms were extremely spacious and beautifully decorated in harmony with the landscape. There’s an excellent restaurant and bar. The chef is very attentive to food allergy and diet restrictions. An ideal location for exploring many temples on foot.
All respect for the general manager and all of his staff who do a great job here; a true sample of excellent hospitality! We will come back.
