We had a great time in the pool, fishing off dock, paddle boarding, kayaking and swimming. The kids (5 under 8) loved playing in the bAsement.

Wonderful trip! Amazing views from multiple rooms. Really great amenities. The basement with the pool table, foosball table, entertainment center and beautiful kids house- is an amazing hangout space for kids and teens, or the whole family. The house is incredibly spacious- perfect for large or extended families. Beds over all were very comfortable - although basement bed is a little in the hard side. Pool was lovely. The inside of the house was beautifully appointed and very clean.
With two bedrooms on the first floor the house is good for adults with mild to moderate mobility issues. Given it’s set up, with a few tweaks like shower hand rails, reducing or eliminating the step into the main floor showers, and ideally one ramp (could be removable) this property would be ideal for renters looking for handicap accessible properties.
With that said, my Dad has a walker and with help was able to navigate and enjoyed the property very much!
There are some maintenance issues that drag it down a bit. While they have a ton of showers, the water pressure in pretty much all of them is on the low end. The pool is missing a few tiles, which is a shame because it is an otherwise beautiful pool.
One of the posts on the pool gate needs to be secured. It looks like it was secured with tape at some point which is now longer working and not attractive. The outside cushions were in need of cleaning. We had to fix one of the door handles to the deck as it fell off when using it.

The property is well appointed, near several nice features (Chesapeake City, hiking, wineries etc.) and has beautiful views of the bay. Overall, we really enjoyed!

Great location with stunning views. House is amazing with plenty of room. Exceeded our expectations will definitely stay here again.
Jesus loves you!

Wow! The pictures do not do this place justice. It's even more beautiful in person. We had no issues. 10/10 - thank you!

We live in the area and hosted family here for a long weekend. It's in a spectacular location along the river and we loved the large deck and pool area. The weather was great so we spent most of our time sitting outside, either on the deck, by the pool or by the firepit.
The bedrooms are lovely and the huge downstairs is like having another apartment. We will definitely rent this again if we have a large number of family members visiting.
4.7
Beautiful property with awesome views! Our family enjoyed every minute!

Overall it went well. Just a few things that were a little of a disappointment but not anything major.
Code did not work to get into the house
Garbage disposal didn't work and we ended up fixing ourselves
Jets in the master tub didn't turn on
Spa to the pool didn't work
The flies outside and in the house were out of control. Fly traps would be nice
No dresser in the basement bedroom
It's a beautiful property. We will definitely try and be back someday.

The property was very clean and well stocked! Highly recommend for families. Amos and Liz were great to work with and will definitely book this property again!

Eagles View Estates has many qualities – secluded location; exceptional view; a superb location for boating and related water sports; interesting and changing wildlife; great sunsets; comfortable furniture throughout; a great new basement layout with massive suite; ample appliances; covered patio with table/chair seating; etc.
Unfortunately, the rental has some real issues that a renter needs to seriously consider depending on their intended use -
o Wi-Fi is not strong enough - Internet connectivity/TV repeatedly dropped or nonexistent causing inability to work remotely.
o INABILITY TO USE A BOAT LIFT HUGE ISSUE - Despite site advertising to ‘Feel free to rent/bring your own boat or jet ski …’ (a major draw of the property), the property manager (in retrospect) does not want renters using the pier’s two boat lifts and said so. Our boat got hung up for 1 ½ days until a temporary repair by a local handyman enabled it to be floated off in a high tide. Why? At low tide any boat grounds. There is no floating dock - tie-up complexities to a stationary pier. Limited ability to access a boat from a stationary pier during low tide (no ladder). Any stormy weather could easily damage any boat.
o COMMUNICATION WITH THE HOST IS FRUSTRATING both in overall lack of complete responsiveness and the fact Host lives over 2 hours away. The Host vacillates as to how he likes to communicate, and at one point opined that he does not constantly monitor renter’s Text communications despite advertising “…we are only a message away ... should any problems arise.”
o HOME REPAIR - The sink disposal is repaired with electrical tape; has been leaking for a while as evidenced by the stained and warped interior cabinet; and water actually shoots out. When told of the issue in person, the Host was ambivalent. Water pressure in the main floor master bath shower is low.
o ISSUES WITH ADVERTISED AMENITIES - Pool had initial cleaning issues; one paddle for two paddleboards; no foosbal balll; broken basketball hoop; no firewood etc.
o STEEP HILL to dock without steps is a concern for older/mobility challenged.
With almost 20 years of high-end rentals, our prior experience has always been when any issues are encountered, a caring, responsive Host makes all the difference, and makes one excited to return. Since this is the home's first year rental under current mgmt., we wonder if communication, condition, and/o management will improve - if not, that is a real shame.

The property was on a beautiful setting and the family had a great time.

This is everything the listing promises! The home is stunning, spotlessly clean, kitchen is well-equipped and the view cannot be beat! There is something so peaceful about a home on the water! Lots of little extras throughout and they don't skimp on the supplies. The beds were comfortable and the couches lovely for lounging. Perfect gathering areas and more than enough space to spread out if that's what you need.
CON: Though I did receive emails regarding the property itself, a list of local recommendations and check-in and check-out instructions, the communications themselves were clearly auto-generated and impersonal. No one contacted me to ensure everything was to our satisfaction upon arrival and thankfully we had no issues at all because I was also never given a local contact name or number if there was a problem.
Besides the communication issue, I would absolutely recommend the property - just gorgeous and my friends and I are already talking about booking for next year.

We returned to this property for a second stay, a few weeks after our first visit. We really love this house, and the location.
The house is huge, well appointed, and can easily fit 8-10 people (probably more, if there are children). It has a pool, hot tub, soaking tub (jacuzzi), a very large basement (pool table, theater area).
Outside, the views are magnificent. On one side there are river/bay views, on the other is a walking trail with miles of solitude (and a nest of eagles, hence the name of the property).
4.7
Lack of communication with property manager created inconvenience when kitchen disposal backed up, question unanswered about hot tub and lack of information until the last minute about entrance to the property. NEED BETTER COMMUNICATION WITH THE RENTER.
4.7
This house has great views of the water on one side, and the woods on the other (with an eagles nest visible nearby).
There are bedrooms on three floors. The house has a pool, a hot tub, a soaking tub in the master bedroom, a small beach access to the water, a fire pit, TVs throughout the house, a pool table and play area in the basement. Every bedroom has its own bathroom.
As nice as this house is inside (and it is really nice inside), the views outside are even better. On my last morning at this house, I spent 30 minutes on the deck, looking at the water.
I am looking to make another reservation over the winter break.
4.7
We had an opportunity to spend 4 nights at this property this October with my wife, son, and parents (in their early 70's). We selected this property because there are very few steps to get in/out of the house and to either of the main floor bedrooms. As my parent's get older, ascending and descending steps becomes more of a challenge for them, so having two available bedrooms on the main floor was a key factor for our rental decision. The kitchen was very well stocked with plenty of kitchen items from knives, to pots and pans, to utensils. Being in a quiet rural setting, had planned on cooking most of our meals ourselves, so having a great kitchen with ample countertop prep space was a big plus. There were plenty of bedrooms including a surprise basement bedroom that wasn't featured in the VRBO pictures, but was really tastefully decorated and had one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in! A++
There were only two items I would mention as clarifications that were not abundantly obvious in the listing - 1. There is a very steep grass hill (with no steps/stairs) in the back of the house that needs to be traversed to get to the dock if you want to go fishing or sit on the dock. Not a big deal at all for someone who is young and able, but for my parent's in their 70's the descent to the dock was a risky adventure. 2. It's hard to tell from the photographs, but the pool table is a 7 ft. smaller recreational table - not a big deal at all, but everyone in our family shoots pool and would have enjoyed playing on a regulation 8ft table more.
Overall, our experience at the property was phenomenal and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet riverfront getaway in a truly beautiful home that is in exceptional condition! Thanks so much!!!

We loved the water view, pool, hot tub, fire pit seating, and the recliners. Plus the Eagle sightings,
Disappointed that all the bedrooms didn't have Direct TV, the 2nd floor air conditioning didn't seem to cool the 2nd floor.

What a fantastic vacation spot! The property is amazing - the heated pool overlooking the river, expansive deck & covered porch created the perfect outdoor oasis for us. That view was everything! We spent 90% of our time outside and didn't experience much of an issue with bugs/flies/creepy crawlies. Some gnats around twilight, but overall - we could be outside as much as we liked! The river access was so great - being able to quickly launch a kayak (and - the hosts fantastically provided a couple paddleboats too - fun!) was lovely. It was the perfect relaxing, spur of the moment kind of place! And the eagles - we had a nest so always had the fun of watching them take flight throughout the day!
The house itself was perfect! Every kind of space you'd want for vacation. Three floors with bedrooms/bathrooms on each so folks had their own spaces, but could also gather together in the main, open concept kitchen + dining+ living (with the great view). The kitchen had everything we needed to handle meals (coffee maker + coffee = happy). The basement is kitted out, pool table, foosball, playhouse and games - lots of indoor activities too! And the finishing's/furniture/styling of the house are lovely, felt like we were in a private resort - that coupled with the views made the place feel like that private oasis!
Great communication with the owners too. Entering/Exiting directions were clear and reasonable, and Liz helpfully shared local attractions and restaurants (thoughtful and fun surprise). She was super accessible and thorough in ensuring we had all info needed for the spaces - really appreciated her attention to details!
Overall, a truly stunning space and experience!

The location of this house is absolutely perfect. The cove is calm, and the property was conducive to being outside even during rain.

We had high expectations but we were blown away by almost every detail of our stay. We are so grateful that we were able to be guests here. Also the owner was very good with communication.

The house is gorgeous and the layout is perfect for large family gatherings. The basement was the perfect hangout for our tweens and teens after a day enjoying the outdoors.
The outdoor space offers plenty to do for all - we enjoyed the bay and the shallow water that made it easy to launch the paddle boards or just float around. The pool and hot tub offered a nice change at the end of each day.
Overall, the house matched the description on VRBO and I would highly recommend.

This is a gorgeous property with really beautiful views, and if you're lucky, seeing eagles up close! The house is well equipped with lots of useful and great amenities. We loved using the heated pool, but the deer flies are relentless, so make sure to bring a hat and maybe bug spray if you're going to be outside or in the pool during the day. We did need to skim the pool, which was expected, but we wished there had also been an automatic bottom pool cleaner as it had a more debris than expected. We cooked most of our meals during our 5 night stay, and found most everything we could need. Very pleased with what pots/pans/utensils, etc. were in the house. I will say that perhaps other guests were not as careful in cleaning items before putting them back in the drawers; we made ample use of the dishwasher. We loved the pool table and foosball games in the basement, and Roku-connected TVs. Remember to bring your streaming account logins with you, and to log them out when you leave! Quick drive to Chesapeake City for dinners and cute shopping, Mary was easy to get in contact with and responded quickly. Thanks!

We really enjoyed our long weekend stay at this house. The views are amazing and the outdoor living space, pool, kayak and hot tub were definitely highlights of the trip. The house was spotless upon arrival, and very new and clean inside. The property manager was very responsive to any and all questions. We would definitely recommend this property.

We booked the house to meet up as a family following a long year getting through Covid-19. Everyone was vaccinated with the exception of our grandchildren so we wanted to spend some quality time together. The location and house was great. We had room for 8 of us and with the layout there was privacy for all when wanted. The game room downstairs and the child play area was a big hit as well as the small beach out side. There were a few things that didn't work electronically but they did not deter from the stay. I would highly recommend this house.

Mary was very communicative and made sure we had everything we needed. She was the perfect host.
The home was every bit as good as the photos looked, if not better. Everything was in good condition, did not look worn out which we have commonly come across in other homes. Plenty of space for everyone, plus the amazing basement space is perfect to keep everyone entertained. The weather was nice for a day during our spring trip so we were able to take the 2 person kayak plus paddle boards out on the water. Then at night we were able to use the fire pit.
We all left saying this was probably our best stay out of the past 5 or 6 homes we've been to. Would definitely book again!

We had a fantastic stay at the Waters View property. The owners were lovely and wanted to be sure we had a great stay. The views are incredible and it was such a delight to enjoy the hot tub on the chilly mornings. We happened to come on a perfectly sunny weekend and it was so nice to take the kayak to the water. The house is equipped with everything you need for a family getaway.
