About this house rental
Spacious 5-bedroom (4 full- and 2 half-baths) waterfront getaway built along the natural topography of Fairhaven Cliffs. All 5 bedrooms have the same five-star/A+ view of the Chesapeake Bay! Watch the sun rise over Poplar Island and the Eastern Shore in the distance.
This property was designed for family fun: You'll have a private pier on the Chesapeake Bay, just below your own 35-foot pool. Sit on the pier, in the hot tub, or on the pool-side deck and enjoy the peaceful views of Herring Cove (a protected section of the Chesapeake that is a sailing favorite), while the kids play on the new play structure just next to the pool. Or sit in the waterside hammock and be lulled to sleep by the splashing of the waves. If you want to enjoy the water, descend the 5-step swim ladder off the dock and swim in the Bay! (Or walk in the Bay....the water is only a couple of feet deep, even a hundred yards out.....in the winter the tide is so low you can walk on dry land all the way to Herrington Harbour!) Or grab one of the kayaks or stand-up paddle-boards and go out a little further! (Caution: A bit of strength and dexterity is required to get the boats into the water....)
Inside you'll have a spacious living area -- enjoy the large smart TV from the family room or the adjacent built-in bar area. Large dining room seats 12 with plenty of elbow room. Have breakfast in the indoor gazebo, or on one of the many patios or balconies. Enjoy the fire-pit (usually down by the water but portable if you prefer it elsewhere) outdoor games like Cornhole and Spike-Ball, or the various indoor games and puzzles available. Relax and detox in the 5-person hot tub or the 2-person cedar sauna!
Sleeps 16 comfortably. Perfect for multiple families -- the bedrooms are spread apart, so individual families or groups of kids can have their privacy, while still enjoying the same great views.
Fun and relaxing in all four seasons -- three fireplaces (two gas), as well as heated floors in the dining room, make it cozy in the colder months. (Those staying in the two downstairs bedroom will want to make use of the provided space heaters.)
Convenient to Herrington Harbor South (the Inn at Herrington Harbour) for wedding parties and events.
Best of all: Less than one hour from both DC and Baltimore....and no need to deal with bridge traffic! So much to love here!
Setup:
~20 steps down from the parking area to the front door.
Master bedroom (king bed) is on the same level as the front door -- jetted tub in the master bath (no shower).
Top-floor bedroom (queen) is one flight up -- half-bath off the room, but shower is in the full bath at the base of the stairs (outside the master bedroom).
Half a flight down from the master bedroom is the foyer -- a stairway then goes down underneath the master bedroom, where there are two bedrooms that share a full bath (one with two queens, and one with two bunk beds).
Beyond the foyer, a few steps down, is a bar area, and then the TV/family room. Beyond the TV is a split-room master (queen bed and full-size daybed with twin trundle) with en-suite full bath.
One flight further down is the dining room and kitchen, and a living room with two-story windows (the family/TV room is lofted above).
Cautions/notes:
-Lots of stairs! (Benefit is that all five bedrooms have the same million-dollar view of the sunrise over the Bay! :-)
-All summer rentals are full-week only, and are Sunday to Sunday.
-New rental Summer 2022. If anything is missing, please reach out and we will quickly supply whatever is needed!! We want to do whatever we can to give you a "5-star" stay. :-)
-Exterior surveillance cameras for security (motion-triggered) on the front, side and rear of the house. (No coverage of the pool area.)
-Use the pool, hot tub, dock, boats, sauna, play structure and all other items/areas at your own risk.
-The pool will be open from March through October (roughly -- check with us for availability) is generally unheated. If you would like the pool heater turned on, there will be an additional fee of $100 per rental to get the pool up to temperature ($200 in March/November, $150 from April 1 through May 15 and September 15 through October 31), plus $15 per night. Please notify us at least one week in advance if you will want the pool heated.
-Up to two personal pets are allowed, but only if communicated in advance. There is an additional fee of $35 per night.
-We don't always have firewood stocked for the firepit and fireplace, so you may need to run out to get some.

We run from
Ages 1 month to 70 years old and had a great stay at this lovely property! Lots of spaces for my whole family and big warm areas for us to all gather! We spent the majority of the time in the kayaks on the bay and in the pool; we needed nothing else- thank you Jacob!

We stayed the last week of July into beginning of August. The property is fabulous, laid out in a very unique way to provide private space for numerous family groups. We had 8 adults, 1 teen, 3 elementary kids and 2 toddlers. Be prepared to climb steps, inside and outside. However, the height of the house is what provided excellent views of the bay and boat traffic. All 5 bedrooms have a bay view. The house is adequately stocked; could use a few more specifics in kitchen. The pool was large with significant decking and seating. The dock to the bay was kind of high and the only way into the bay was via 5 steps on a ladder from dock to water. That made it difficult to get paddle boards and kayaks in and out of water up over the dock. The base of the bay was all sand/ dirt and shallow for walking around, getting on and off paddle boards. It was no more than waist high on an adult quite a ways out from shore. There were very few fish in shallow, some jellyfish that varied. The wildlife was special; mom and 2 fawns walked around the yard every morning, watched osprey dive for fish, lots of butterflies, skinks and blue crabs. We enjoyed our stay!

Perfect getaway for a 3 generational vacation! Spacious bedrooms, on different levels. allowed for quiet times to take in a book or dance parties when the grands would pop in! Conveniently located for day trips to Annapolis and the National Harbor. The pool, hot tub and dock were most appreciated amenities. The large dining area allowed all 14 of us to share a table for family meals. Nicely secluded with wildlife but grocery stores, small beach areas and nice restaurants were only a10-20 minute drive.

We spent an entire week at this house with 7 adults and 2 small children (3yo and 3mo). We had more than enough space for all of us to have our own areas. The house was awesome, but just a little upside down of a house with the kitchen on the bottom floor, living room on second floor and bedrooms on third floor - but the house is disconnected in a sense with lots of stairs. It wasn’t terrible, but just something to be aware of. We loved the pool and pretty much lived there all week. The kayaks were used ever since day and it was so nice having multiples of them. Only a little challenging to get the kayaks out of the water onto the dock after a ride. The swing set was a nice touch as well for the little ones. Kitchen was nice, and it didn’t have too many utensils for cooking and not many serving plates, but it was fine for what we needed it for!
The host was always available when we needed him and was so wonderful to work with!
We will for sure be back to explore more of the surrounding area.

I chose to stay at this property for the duration of my wedding weekend. It was really great to be able to spend that extra time with family all together! Getting ready at the house, rather than a hotel was also really nice because we had much more room to space out. The make up artist and hair stylist also complimented the ample natural light and space to work. The pool and hot tub were beautiful! The only downside was a lack of curtains in the master bedroom. The sunrise is beautiful but sleeping in was not an option. It would have been nice to have the option. There are also not curtains or blinds in the master bathroom. There is a beautiful tub that overlooks the backyard. However it is visible from certain spots of the house and therefore I did not feel comfortable using it. Overall a fantastic property with amazing views, and ample parking! I certainly hope to return again!

A few of us girls got together-sisters, cousins, and a few friends to celebrate a wedding coming up. We spent time in the different lovely areas of the house and outdoors. It was the most spacious and gorgeous lay out. A weekend of rain didn’t matter becusee we had to much to do with the indoor games provider, the hot tub, the beautiful kitchen area. We loved our stay!

This house and property is GORGEOUS. Well maintained, beautiful setting. Amazing amenities (pool, hot tub) which enhanced our stay. We had no problem finding multiple places to all hang out and chat- the living room with plenty of seating, the dining room table with seating for at least 14, and outside in the hot tub. It was a perfect setting for valuable time away with friends!
Additionally, the owner was STELLAR in communication. I very much appreciated his quick and attentive responses throughout the booking process and stay.

My family and I had an amazing stay!! Jacob’s correspondence was timely and very friendly from beginning to end. We had some problems with cleanliness (sheets not being washed, cobwebs, dead beetles in windowsills), and Jacob refunded our cleaning fee. Despite that, the house was beautiful and had plenty of space for our big family to move around. Be warned that there are A LOT of stairs! But nothing my older parents couldn’t handle. The views are absolutely breathtaking and every single room had one. Would definitely recommend during summertime to make good use of the pool and kayaks.

Our whole extended family stayed for the week - it was wonderful! Every bedroom has a great water view. We especially enjoyed the hot tub and hanging out in all of the open spaces.

We gathered our adult children and their families here and had a wonderful time. The views of the bay are as promised -- beautiful sunrises -- and Jacob's hospitality was generous. It was something of a celebration for us and we wanted it to be special. Jacob helped...and he was tremendously responsive.
The house and the grounds have lots of space to gather in or separate to. The kitchen and dining area are spacious. Matching light switches to fixtures in such a large house can be a bit of a puzzle, but it wasn't really a bother. We had a great time during our stay.

We arrived to a modest entry way strewn with several days worth of leaves and seed pods. After a few near slips, I emailed the property manager. We were promptly informed a handyman would arrive to tidy up, but that never happened, so my husband swept the entry way before our guests arrived that evening. I scrubbed a few bannisters, which were too dirty to touch, and bought a few scented Glade candles to help with the staleness.
When we got in the pool, it was clear that the heater had not been turned on, so my husband walked through that with the property owner on the phone.
The random assortment of body hair throughout the house was cringey. The dirty floorboards and mold in the bathrooms was disappointing. This house needs a really good scrubbing and a fresh coat of paint on the scraped-up walls. There’s certainly nothing wrong with an IKEA furnished rental, but it should be clean and tidy.
On the plus side: the house has a great view and plenty of space - we were there with two other families and it did not feel at all crowded. It was also very nice to have the play scape for the kiddos to enjoy (no surprise, it also needs some fixin’). The small pier was perfect for letting the kids catch and release some small croakers.

The house was exactly as we hoped. Would love to return.

Absolutely the best house we have stayed at. The pictures which are awesome do not do the house justice. Incredible space, view, and location!! I cannot say enough about how great of an experience we had. Everything was great and made easy!!

We really enjoyed our stay at this VRBO property. The view of the bay is a million dollar view, and the layout of the rooms makes this view available from all of the upper floor bedrooms. The home is well equipped and the owner was very responsive.

Hard to imagine that within less than an hour's drive from DC Metro area, there is such a peaceful, beautiful waterfront retreat! My family, including three grandchildren, had a wonderful, relaxing escape in this beautiful home. A true gem.

We loved our time here. Place was clean and organized which made for a very easy and relaxing stay. Owner was very attentive with any of our questions. Absolutely suggest this place to anyone.

I traveled with my extended family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. The house is beautifully appointed, well stocked with supplies, spacious, with a bay view from each bedroom. We had plenty of space for our large group. Caught enough crabs off the dock for dinner and saw lots of sting rays, crabbers, and sailboats. Beautiful sunrises each morning. The pool and playground were a big hit with the kids, both big and little. Convenient location, we were able to put the boat in at Chesapeake Beach, around 10 minutes away. There are good kayaks and a paddleboard, which were easy to maneuver in the shallow water, just be aware of the jellyfish. The host was very responsive. This isn't a house for those with mobility issues, as there are lots of stairs and going up and down hill, but our group didn't have any issues with it. Would love to come again.

The house worked perfect for our 4 families. The pool and the bay views were just wanted we needed. The owner’s communication was great and they were super helpful! We would highly recommend this property!

Although the swimming pool did not reach the desired heat level, our stay was most enjoyable. The views, the kayaking, the restaurants, and the general ambiance of the house were great.

We had a fantastic time at this absolutely stunning home! Jacob was so wonderful to work with and responded to all of our questions immediately! He went above and beyond to make sure the pool was heated properly as we requested, and it really made our trip so much nicer! We can’t say enough good things about this property- beautiful house, spectacular views of the bay, lovely pool and grounds overlooking the water - we had everything we needed to enjoy our time there and we can’t wait to return!

We had a great experience staying at this home with family and friends! Jacob was very welcoming and provided great communication prior to our stay. The house was beautiful and did not have any issues either before or during our stay. Would love to stay here again!

We had a fabulous weekend at this beautiful property. Truly, gorgeous water views from every bedroom and the common space. The owner could not have been more accommodating. Highly recommend for a place that holds a large group with plenty of room to be together and have your own space if that's what you want!

This was an amazing weekend rental. I'd absolutely rent it again. There is a lot of sleeping space and plenty of bathrooms. The views are breathtaking and the owner was wonderful to work with. There are a lot of stairs, but that is what allows for a view from every room.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about this absolutely gorgeous home on the bay. You will not want to go back to your home. Every bedroom has a great view of the water and everything in this house is exceptional - location, breathtaking views, parking, bedding, beds, towels, etc. I loved that there are so many great places in the house and on the periphery to view the water. They even have kayaks and a paddle board that you can use right from their dock. I liked the little extras like soap, body wash, etc. i also appreciated the fact that Jacob, the owner, was communicative and very responsive. He was also kind and generous with my group. I will return again and again.

We stayed here for a 50th birthday celebration on a girl's trip. The house is stunning. The views from every bedroom balcony is stunning. We took advantage of the pool, the bay, the deck by the water and the fire pit near the house. All the rooms were clean, linens were upscale and and furniture first class. Plenty of space for 15 women to spread out yet cozy enough for all of us to gather in the kitchen and sitting rooms. Our only complaint would be the fact that we went in the fall instead of summer so we could have enjoyed the bay and pool more. We will just have to go back! Hosts were great at communicating through our entire stay with helpful trip ideas and house issues. I never waited more than 5 minutes to hear back from the hosts so they are a 10 in my book. We will definitely stay here again in the summer time but should mention the fall leaves and setting was gorgeous too.
