About this cabin rental
Well… not actually a tree house, but you'll feel like you're in one. Nestled behind two huge boulders, on a quiet street, lies this 1938 vintage cabin, with views of tree or sky from every window.
The space:
Large living room and open kitchen, with an island that is great for cooking and entertaining. A beautiful restored Wedgewood stove is the centerpiece of the kitchen. There is an old oak pub table, with a unique mica hanging lamp, in the dining area that can extend for seating up to six people (vintage folding chairs available).
Upstairs master bedroom has en suite 1/2 bath, Casper bed, and reading area with a claw foot oak reclining Morris chair. The other bedroom is larger, but is open to the stairwell, so not quite the privacy of the master.
Downstairs bath has a claw foot tub with shower and mosaic tile floor.
Coffee beans and a grinder provided. We have a French press and 4 cup coffee maker also. There is a Gas BBQ on the deck.
Fast 500 Mbs WiFi.
No frilly curtains, kitsch or tchotchkes… just classic cabin!
$50 pet fee per week or portion thereof. As noted in our house rules, pet owners are not allowed to instant book.
Five people allowed if one can sleep on the couch.
This is a 1938 vintage cabin. We do everything we can to make it comfortable AND authentic, but please don’t expect Herman Miller- like dining seating, or hermetically sealed windows. There may be squeaky wood floors and clickety door knobs… but we do promise a unique experience.
Other things to note:
We have one air conditioner downstairs and one in the upstairs bedroom that is there only in the summer. There are fans upstairs to move that cool air around. On hot days we open the windows at night and close them in the morning, and the place will stay cool most of the day.

We had an amazing few nights at this charming cabin during our big honeymoon road trip. It was an instant classic, and it’s became an unexpected core memory of our honeymoon so far.
We loved it as our hub for the Jacinto Wilderness and Tahquitz rock, which is all just simply amazing. The house makes for a great place to relax and unwind too, as it’s fully accommodated for comfort and ease, even if it feels a little hot outside in the Summer. Great balcony too.
We loved it so much we decided to stay an extra night when we learned it was available. John was super helpful, and made it easy to extend this part of our honeymoon experience. Thank you! We highly recommend.

Upon arrival, even before entry, this cabin was exactly what we were looking for. A back yard deck surrounded with trees, a quiet bit of nature. The house has all amenities one needs. All cleaned showing no previous use. A comfortable bed. Easy check in, check out. The best is the easy contact with owner making sure all was OK with us. Indeed a super host and hostess. Thank you for the notebook of local history

Stay was great and accommodating for 5 people. Cabin was rustic but appropriate for staying in the mountains. Perhap worth to mention about the bathroom. You may consider upgrading tor more safety. We had 3 senior people. Getting in the high bathtub surrounded by full cortine was a difficult task for one of them.

We had a great get-away, loved the back deck! Spent quite a bit of time just listening to the wind, watching the squirrels and blue jays. Just what we needed!

I loved staying at this cabin. I stayed for 6 nights (early April) for a break from the day to day with another round of snow. The weather was colder than usual so the house was def chilly in the mornings, especially the bathrooms. The space heater warmed the bathroom up though so I could shower! It had comfy and cozy beds and heaters worked fine. I loved the vintage feel of everything! Creaky floors, old knobs. I would def stay here again.

I had a great weekend away at this gem of a cabin. We had unexpected snow so shifted plans but very much enjoyed this little cabin and would definitely come back. Easy check in and quick response to any questions I had.
