We rented both the house and cabin and had plenty of room for 8 adults and 3 children. Also enough space for introverts to spread out. Supplies in kitchen were adequate, but from past experience we brought a couple of good fry pans, but we could have gotten by on what was there. Swim area was nice. Because the lake level was high there was less sand to play in than in previous years, but we had a blast in the water on the days the air was warm enough. One cooler, windy day we drove to Monticello Community Center indoor pool where they have a nice play area in shallow water as well as a giant slide. We also went to a fun playground at Clearwater Pleasant regional park about 10 minutes away. And a couple folks did some golfing nearby. Kids were entertained daily with feeding the fish from the dock. Overall wonderful chance for our family to get together!

Overall, this is a very good property. My family has stayed here 6 or 7 years now across two different owners. Though the price has risen quite significantly during that time (what hasn't?), the new owner is continuing to take feedback and add value throughout the property.
Examples: New beds in most of the bedrooms. The upper floor bathroom was redone (yay!) and the door to that bathroom was shaved meaning it actually closes this year (yay again). New flooring and bathroom in the guest house. New fridge and dishwasher in the main kitchen.
The place still remains a compelling value. The beach is sandy and clear of weeds. The fishing is decent (dock fishing isn't great due to the weeds, but if you have a boat, you can catch good sized bass, pike and crappie). There is lots of room. The porch off the kitchen is great for games at night without waking kids. The owner remains great about communicating and dealing with issues (like the AC).
Some small things that keep it from being a perfect place. The dock this year wasn't flat across, causing a dangerous trip opportunity. There was an active mouse in the guest house even with everything thrown away and cleaned up each night. The AC unit tripped the breaker multiple times, likely due to being on a 20A breaker. The pots and pans were dirty. The double twin mattresses are bad.
Overall, for the money, this place is hard to beat. Even with the "negatives" (which are mainly nitpicks), I have zero problem recommending.

Had 14 people from age 5 to 65 and had both main cabin and guest cabin. Had more than enough space for all of us to be comfortable and had some privacy. Brought our own boat and fishing gear. Cooked at the cabin and had no trouble cooking for all! More dining space and lounging space inside and out than we even needed. The buildings were very quiet, even when the kids were being loud outside. The kayaks got good use as well. Fishing from dock was fun for all. Went tubing most days.
Beds and bedding were great! No complaints from any members about anything. Temp control worked great.
We will definitely do this again and use same property.

We had a total of 14 people at this cabin, ages ranging from 1-65. There was plenty of space, indoors and out, for everyone to sleep, eat, play, and relax. The fishing off the dock was great. We kept enough fish for a meal for all of us. The beach and yard are great for playing and swimming. Overall, a wonderful vacation!

Good value for the money. Plenty of places for everyone to sleep. Some beds were more comfortable than others. We loved all of the table space indoors for games. Property could use some updating but the space is so huge that could get expensive quickly. We were very happy with our stay.

We rented both cabins and together they were a perfect size for our large group. The swimming area has a large amount of sandy floor to swim in and the lake is crystal clear. We rented the pontoon and had good luck fishing for crappies, bass and sun fish. There is also fish from the dock, though most are small. There are many large gathering spaces to play, visit or just relax. There is a baby crib in the master closet and it's big enough for a twin blow up mattress on the floor making a quiet/ dark place for good sleep for little people. The property is on a deadend road, so it is very quiet. There are beautiful birds to admire, such as bald eagles, cranes and red hedded woodpeckers. The house is dated, but by the sound of things the host is working toward improvements. The large house has a significant staircase and floor transitions in the basement that could be rough for people with limited mobility, but the small cabin is accessible. Amenities are minimal, so plan to bring spices, unique utensils, blow dryer, body/hair soap. In a previous feedback we read, a guest complained about replacing the propane. The host requests that if you use up the propane and tap in to the spare, that you replace it and she will pay you for the propane and your time to do so, which is a reasonable request. The host is communicative and was quickly responsive when we had a need. I have four kids 8 and under and they played hard and went home tan and happy. We had a great time.

This was our fourth year at this property. It meets the needs for our family with six adults and five children. We also rented the guest cabin this year. We love having dock space for our two boats, a sandy beach, and large living space. Some improvements were made to the property this past year and we are hopeful that the improvements will continue. We hope to continue to go to the property again with our family.

We were looking for a property that could adequately house our large family and this seemed ideal. The property manager was very responsive which was greatly appreciated. While there was plenty of space for everyone, we did have a few disappointments.
Leading up to our stay, I found out that if we used the gas grill, we had to replace the tank (even though we were using it for one meal). At home, my tank lasts several months. There was a spare tank and I believe this could easily be included in the fee, especially for the price.
When we arrived, it was disappointing that the first thing we had to do was clean the kitchen. Counters, stove, and refrigerator were filthy and many of the utensils had to be washed as well. The first morning when we went to make coffee, there was a used coffee filter in the coffee maker and the pot and grounds basin both had to be cleaned before it was used. It was ironic that our checkout procedures asked us to leave the place clean like we found it.
There wasn’t much for what I would consider typical amenities that we had in other rentals (no Kleenex, did not find soap for bathrooms until we were about to checkout and saw it in the laundry room, no basic items like Saran Wrap or salt except for a shaker). Also, one of my siblings had their room infested with Asian beetles.
I would recommend better marking for the uneven floors as multiple people hurt themselves because they didn’t notice the transition.
At the end of the day, the place suited our needs - a home large enough for us to gather comfortably but the cleanliness and sparse amenities added some disappointment to the weekend.

We had a great weekend. Buildings aren't new and there was a slight snafu. But property owner was available for communication and resolved issue quickly.
