The location of Sangregado was fantastic! Located right across from Mistico, but so intimate. Our casita had incredible views of Arenal Volcano. We had a wonderful stay from start to finish.

We stayed at Sangregado Lodge for two nights with our family of five at the beginning of August. While the hotel is a little out of town, requiring a car, we felt like we discovered our own magical and serene slice of heaven with a direct view of the La Fortuna volcano.
The hotel is conveniently located directly opposite the Hanging Bridges Park, which was on our list of places to visit. The only downside is that the hotel does not have an onsite restaurant. However, they offer an option to include breakfast, and they have arrangements with two nearby restaurants: one at the Lost Iguana Lodge, about 500 meters down the hill, and another across from the hotel near the hanging bridges. Having a car made it easy for us to access both dining options.
We were pleasantly surprised by the size of our cabin, which had two separate rooms with very large and comfortable beds, two bathrooms, a full kitchen, and even a washer and dryer. This was especially convenient since it rained both days, and we ended up needing to do laundry before heading to the coast.
We loved our experience at this smaller, boutique hotel. It's quiet and not crowded, which was exactly what we needed. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway.

This is such an incredible and unique location. You can look out the balcony on top of the canopy. We saw so many beautiful birds and it was incredible hearing the rain forest wake up in the morning and go to bed at night

The room had an incredible view, house keeping was timely and efficient, and every single concierge was amazingly helpful. I couldn't recommend more.

Absolutely loved staying at the lodge, the staff was very friendly and the lodge was fantastic. Only stayed for a couple of days, but would definitely come back!
We had some monkey business early one morning but were completely safe in the lodge :)

Everything was great and the staff was really nice. They ran out of coffee though. :( We're early risers and were working in the mornings. That part was a bit tough but everything else was great!

The property is located out of town, across the parking lot from Mystico - the bridges place. The cabins are beautiful, with lovely views of the volcano. Good bird watching from your balcony in the morning and evening. A comment about the staff: I left a battery charger, and the staff was very helpful and patient in packing it up and sending it on to another lodge we were to stay at towards the end of our trip.

Our stay at the Sangregado Lodge was excellent. The staff worked very hard to make our stay as smooth as possible. The restaurant on site was excellent with the friendliest service around. The food was wonderful too. The servers accommodated us with special requests and assisted us with shuttle service back and forth from the restaurant to our room.

By far exceeded our expectations. The view from your room is to die for. Left us speechless when we pulled our curtains open in the morning. Lovely grounds. Stuff is super helpful and attentive. Fantastic breakfast on the nearby property. 5 star all the way!!! Oh, yeah, and my absolute favorite part is the ambiance, the sounds of the rainforest, Could listen to it forever!

This was such a beautiful stay! It's located at the top of a mountain and across from a hanging bridge park. We had a great stay and felt very welcomed. Breakfast is included and great!

Oh my goodness, if you’re looking for eco-chic way to enjoy the Costa Rican rainforest this is it. Simple, beautiful, let nature steal the show. Slept with the doors open so we could hear all the amazing sounds.

The perfect view on the Vulcano! There is no other hotel with this view in the middle of the jungle. The staff was super friendly and we felt welcomed. Only thing you need to keep in mind is that you’re pretty far away from anything, which also means restaurants and attractions. So a car is definitely needed.

Amazing views and nicely designed room but not well kept. I understand it is complicated but for what you pay the room should be in better shape. Breakfast was included but not served at the property. There were 2 options, one in Mistico Park across the park's parking lot (not very appealing) and the nearby Lost Iguana Hotel; nice buffet but having to drive to have breakfast is not ideal. People at the front desk were nice and helpful.

The staff at Sangregado are awesome! Wonderful service - friendly and attentive. We were greeted with coconut water in actual coconuts. There is a free shuttle to the restaurant nearby. The view from the room was lovely. Being able to walk next door to Mistico Hanging Bridges was really cool. The area is gated and safe. You need to drive up a big hill to get in but we found this everywhere in Costa Rica as we traveled. Grateful we rented an automatic 4 wheel drive. It handled all the roads beautifully and we travelled to four destinations! Highly recommend Sangregado Lodge.

The rooms are wonderful and the views were spectacular. I wish there was more to do onsite and that breakfast was on the property. There was a bit of a misunderstanding with a tour that was booked. I never received confirmation and made alternate plans. Due to a late cancellation I would have had the full price. After speaking to the manager he was able to make the necessary corrections for us. Overall, the property is beautiful and the staff is attentive.

We had a fantastic stay at the Sangregado Lodge. The view and room were fantastic and just as advertised. Very convenient for the hanging bridges and an easy 20min drive to the hot springs and La Fortuna. We felt very safe the whole time. I did not feel like a 4x4 was necessary and we were there during the rainy season. I loved waking up to that great view of the volcano and the sounds of the forest. Shower/tub could have been a little better, but it was fine and had a great view as well. Breakfast was good each morning.

Simply incredible. We spent hours watching wildlife straight from our porch with the kids. The view is incredible and the service was fantastic. The breakfasts are at full restaurants and provide great value. We truly loved it!

Great location next to mystic hanging bridges. Great view of the volcano everyday. Secluded area allowing you to enjoy the sounds of the rainforest. Friendly and accommodating staff.

This property looks out on Arenal Volcano. Nature is outside your window and it is walking distance to the Mistico Hanging Bridges Park. Beds and facilities are very nice.
There isn't any food on site, a quick drive down the hill to a nearby restaurant. Really feels like you are in the jungle at Volcano.

This hotel was absolutely magical. It's like you're in the middle of a rainforest with an incredible view of the Arenal volcano! Having breakfast at Blue Hibiscus was a treat and being able to walk right out of the room to the Mistico Hanging Bridges was incredibly convenient!
We even saw two Pecaries in the early morning right on the resort grounds.

We stayed two nights in unit 11. We had an amazing view over the valley and of the volcano. Mistico Hanging Bridges is literally across the parking lot. We went on an amazing night tour there as well as a self guide day walk. The view is amazing. There was a full sized refrigerator with freezer, microwave, very fast Internet, and an amazing shower (with views over the valley). We were very happy with our stay.

Hands down, one of the most amazing views of Arenal Volcano from your bedroom! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful while I was there, even offering to have my breakfast boxed for me the next day since I had an early morning excursion. I spent a whole afternoon enjoying the views and wildlife from the comfort of my room. One of my favorite stays so far!

Sangregado lodge deserves 6 stars. Location was phenomenal being next to the hanging bridges park. The workers were amazing and helpful in answering every question. The views are amazing with a clear view of the local rain forest and the volcano. Keep the back doors open all day and night to feel like you are camping in the rain forest but from a luxurious room. Early hikes through the hanging bridges park and a night hike with a guide were the perfect combination to understand the surroundings. Both breakfast options were excellent!

I cannot say enough about this property and the staff. Best hotel experience I have ever had! You will not regret your stay here, as we stayed 10 days with children and it was truly unforgettable. Jerry will go above and beyond for you, we are humbled from the experience!

This was an excellent location to stay at, we had so much wildlife around, it was incredible. The Coati's were around our porch regularly and we could book all excursions at a competitive rate directly with the front desk staff who were incredibly helpful. We were able to get into Mistico bridges when they opened and beat the rush without feeling hassled to gather the family which was priceless. Complementary breakfast was directly across the street at La Roca Bistro or Blue Hibiscus down the way, they even put together a breakfast box for us when we were scheduled to be picked up for an excursion at 7am and couldn't make it to the restaurant. Would highly recommend, there is nothing that could have made our trip better!

Our favorite hotel in Costa Rica. Such a unique experience with a wall of glass overlooking the jungle. Great location if visiting hanging bridges but a bit far from everything else. Breakfast was great at lost iguana, but a bit annoying having to drive to another resort for included breakfast
