It was an ok stay. Bared minimum: plates, cups, glasses and utensils for 2, handwash everyday. Warm temp experienced at 91 degrees, no fans. Booked and paid for 3 nights, took off and went home after 2. Please ask this property to clearly post their pet friendly policy with FEES. Credit card was charged $303 upon check in. Overall it was nice coming up to the mountain and see the lake is filled up again after the rain we had.

I really loved how private it was and how they made us feel comfortable! Plus the snow storm made it super pretty to wake up to !

Heaters didn't work. $75 extra cleaning fee for " excessive " cleaning needed. I personally cleaned our whole cabin before leaving and it was left almost exactly as we found it. Shady charges, extremely outdated. Cabins/ rooms. Would not recommend this place and will not be staying again

Stayed here for a girls weekend with my teenage daughter. We had a great time. The cabin was very clean upon arrival, including the bathroom and kitchen. They have cute twinkly lights strung outside. The resort is very close to the Big Bear Village and both ski resorts (Snow Summit and Bear Mountain). We brought our small dog with us which worked out fine. The cabin provided silverware, coffee mugs and dishes for two people. There was one tiny pot which we used to heat a can of soup but bring your own cookware if you plan on making larger meals. There was no toaster so we will bring our own next time.
The front desk person I spoke with on the phone was super nice and helped me with selecting the right cabin for us. The cabin also has wifi, a tv with lots of channels including Hallmark which we liked, and an excellent wall heater which heats basically the whole cabin except for the bathroom. The water was hot which was nice after skiing! We enjoyed our mother-daughter ski weekend and will definitely be back. Each cabin has a parking spot right out front. We had no noise issues during our stay. The only thing that could be improved upon would be better towels. They felt kind of damp when we got there like they weren't dried all the way and they were not very absorbent regardless. I recommend bringing your own towels if that is important to you. Other than that, we thought Grey Squirrel was wonderful and we will definitely be back soon. I rate it a 9/10 overall!

We stayed in a sweetly rustic little cabin for two. It had everything we needed for a comfortable 2-night stay.

The Grey Squirrel was the perfect place for us. Far enough from the village to be quiet and calm but close enough to grab any supplies we had forgotten. The property is big and the snow fall was beautiful.

It was enjoyable and we would go back again.

The shower and sink did not drain. Shower drain was clogged with hair and had spider web's. I was not to happy with our stay.

The cabin floor was incredibly dirty. Walking barefoot and my feet turned black.
Kitchen is beyond sub-par. Pots were dented, stovetop only had one working burner (the ignition spark wasn't working on the other 3).
Pool was out of service even though we were told it would probably be fine by the second day of our stay.
Dirty bedsheets in floor of upstairs closets.
Bathrooms were very hastily cleaned, and it showed.

The cabin was dirty and dusty, the kitchen was not fully stocked as stated , the oool was closed down by the county while we were there, the jacuzzi smelled like swamp ,very disappointing. The bathroom was disgusting

The property is beautiful. The cabins have everything you’ll need. Floors were a little dirty but other than that it was perfect.

Some of the electrical was not working and we had a minor issue with the drains. The service was great and they responded quickly. The particular room we stayed in had a floor heater and a sharp incline on the stairs. Not recommended for small children.

Nice to be in the cabin is lovely except the closest is so small for 2 ppl.

The cabin was rustic and charming. The beds very comfortable. But we had no hot water and couldn't get a hold of anyone to resolve. The kitchen was also woefully under stocked with no basics like coffee or coffee filters.

The cabin we booked had a huge backyard, perfect for snow play.

awesome property. the cabin we had was nice and spacious. the price was right. my kids loved it. Parking was a little tough for my oversized vehicle but otherwise it was perfect
2.0 / 5.0
The cabin was not equipped with basic necessities and comforts. Advertised as sleeps 3 but there was only 1 king size bed and a tiny ikea futon with no bedding provided. Only 2 towels provided in the bathroom. Coffe machine was there but no coffee or coffee filters in the kitchen? Supplies were available at from t desk but why not in the room? Garbage left out in driveway blocking our entrance from former guests and it was ripped open and spilling out. I had to move it out of the way to get to our cabin and it spilled everywhere. Toads in the facility and the Stairs entering our cabin were not properly shoveled and were covered in icy snow, so dangerous. No shovel provided at the cabin either. Overall, obviously I would not recommend staying at The Grey Squirrel.

Nice property with more space than a traditional hotel room. Closed for season, but would be great to utilize pool and spa in summer. Would definitely recommend and stay there again.

Clean and love the style of the cottage, parking just outside your room.same price per day as the other hotel room but you can cook, you have your own dining and living space. You can just stay and relax there.

Great place.

Where do I begin; we had to wait outside and texted her to check in and it was cold, the entrance to our cabin was very confusing, the property was very dirty, the inside of the cabin was not pleasant at all, I found several spiders in the bed, kitchen, living room and the kids bedroom. The cabin wasn’t properly cleaned and Definitely not worth the $642.36 I payed for it ; not recommend it.

We stayed in the Rustic Hideaway and it was nice. Very roomy and lots of space for the kids to play. Very family friendly. While it is outdated, it does have a great rustic feel to it. Very pet friendly as well. Convenient to the village and local markets/eateries. We recommend!

Was peaceful and quaint but not close enough to things and not a lot offered.

Nice staff, pet friendly. The property next to the boulder bay park, My Cabin named Secret Garden, a little bit old but clean.

This is nice rustic property and we got lot more for what we paid compare to what would have paid to motels. Property had lot of family activities to offer as well. We wanted nice quiet get away cabin. This has perfect for that.

It was a very beautiful stay
