Located just two blocks away from our home, Lake Tomahawk Park offers gorgeous lake views year-round, an exciting playground, scenic walking path, fishing, games, and a seasonal public pool.
While you visit, be sure to explore Black Mountain’s gift shops, specializing in hand-crafted artisan wares, spend some time at one of Black Mountain’s 35 restaurants, or sample a beer or spirits at a local brewery, some within walking distance of the property. We recommend starting your vacation off with a walk to the Blue Ridge Biscuit Company or the Dripolater Coffee Shop.
Just a short drive from our home in Black Mountain Golf Course, which offers a superb 18-hole course marked by the regions’ natural beauty.
Be sure to explore the region’s other sights while you’re here. Only two miles away is Montreat, the former home of the Rev. Billy Graham. Hiking and Biking trails abound around Black Mountain. The Swannanoa Valley Museum features “Rim Hikes” of both moderate and difficult levels.

We enjoyed staying at your property. Thank you.

Gartness House was perfect home base for our summer retreat to Black Mountain/Montreat. We loved the central location near Lake Tomahawk. We took daily walks around the lake, golf course, town and up the ridge. We had easy access into town and up to Montreat to enjoy all the July 4th holiday activities. The mattresses were particularly good, very new and right level of firmness without being too hard. all enjoyed good nights’ sleep. The kitchen had everything we needed for family meals. Our kids enjoyed the oversized swing in the yard and our dogs enjoyed the corner lot with lots of room to run.
