This was our second stay at this home. Great kitchen for cooking (staple spices/oil), blankets (including heated blankets) and towels, plus a few other extra touches that make your stay very comfortable. The location is minutes from Volcanoes Nat’l Park and access to miles of trails and outdoor activities. Highly recommend this host/home, they really make you feel like you’re on vacation. We enjoyed our time here just as much as the first time and look forward to spending our next vacation here!

Lovely home with all of the amenities we could ever hope for on vacation. And such a serene and peaceful property. We loved our stay.

Loved the place! very clean and well appointed. I was a builder for 40 years and really appreciated the features and construction of the house.
Only criticism would be; with 5 people there and rainy weather, the entry was kind of small for everyone to remove shoes and hang jackets. Maybe a few hangers outside the door, and a shoe rack inside or something like that.
Thanks again for letting us stay there and will stay there again in the future.

This custom built home was absolutely one of our favorites. It was clean, comfortable, quiet and had all the amenities you need for your stay. The layout was great and spacious, including the outdoor lanai. Just a really lovely home with so much custom details. Exactly as described and more in person. It was minutes from Volcanoes Nat'l Park, making it convenient to come back everyday for lunch. This time of year it was in the mid/high 50s at night and mid/high 60s during the day. There were lots of blankets (including electric blankets) to keep you warm at night. There is also a stove heater in the living room. The house manager was excellent and quick to respond to our questions ~ thank you! We did all our grocery shopping in Hilo (at KTA) before heading to Volcano, about a 45 minute drive. The hosts do a wonderful job of making one truly feel on vacation. We would definitely love to stay here again and highly recommend this home.

We had a wonderful stay in Volcano! The house was very nice & well maintained. The kitchen had everything we needed (and more). It was close to the park so we could quickly drive in at night to see the volcano or drive home in the middle of the day to take a break from the rain. We would definitely stay there again!!

Great house, wonderfully appointed, good location. Super close to Volcanoes National Park, so it was easy to get there before the crowds. Quiet, peaceful location, with nice landscaping touches, wonderful to enjoy on the covered deck. Layout was excellent, with master bedroom on one side and other two bedrooms on the other side, so parents could have some peace and quiet.
Kitchen had excellent equipment, and even some supplies. Plenty of linens. Best thing - two umbrellas, which we definitely appreciated!

Fantastic family house
Beautiful home in unique forest surroundings. Thoughtfully equipped (even flashlights for that night or early AM walk at park). Minutes from park entrance. Comfortable beds. Spacious kitchen and living room. Next time we get back to big island, we will stay here for sure!

Perfect setting for visiting the Volcano!
Very comfortable home to enjoy this area. Fun jungle atmosphere. The outdoor seating area is wonderful for enjoying the rainforest.
Volcano village is near by to visit with some nice restaurants. Volcano winery was fun to visit with a new take on wine making techniques. Who knew there was a golf course nearby.

Peaceful Rainforest Getaway
The house is beautiful (in our opinion). Loved the architecture; the layout and feel; the lanai and the gas fireplace were perhaps minor, but important features. Both my bother and I were exhausted from a preceding island trip and it was perfect for recuperating. We went to Volcanoes National Park as planned and that was super-convenient as well. We like to be away from the noise and hustle of more popular areas... this was our favorite place between where we stayed between Oahu, Big Island, and even Kauai. Only complaint is that you need a decent wine opener!!

Perfect for exploring Volcano
We were delighted to find the property exceeded our expectations. Clean, even equipped with cute socks. Lovely lanai, plenty of space for a family.
And every question was answered and we were given good suggestions for our adventures. Thank you

A great place for traveling with friends and family.
We visited this lovely home at the end of our vacation. We wanted to visit the Volcano National Park and Hilo. This was a great location that allowed us to do both. The house was clean and comfortable. It was also well stocked with everything we needed. We were a group of 5 (composed of 2 families- including a 2yo). The design of this house gave each family a private space while providing a nice central gathering space to hang out. The house was very cold when we first entered but it warmed up quickly with the propane stove.

Great Cabin
We loved this cabin. It is very nice inside, and set up very well for either two couples (our case), or a family. The finishes and furnishings are very nice and well done. We found the house very clean. The location is remote and very quiet (except for the frogs that croak all night). The house has some essential kitchen supplies in terms of spices etc, and we really appreciated that. The host warned us that food and dining is limited in the area, and we found that to be very true. There are restaurants, but many are closed mid week, so check ahead of time. We would definitely stay here again if in the area.

The perfect stay!
We loved everything about this house. It was spacious with a large patio and beautiful jungle yard. Minutes from Volcanoes National Park. The house was well stocked with everything you need. Make sure to get groceries before leaving Hilo, but if you forget, it wasn’t that far from Hilo. Thank you for a great stay!

Our family of 4 (2 kids ages 10 & 8) vacationed first on the Kona side and then came to Volcano for 5 nights. We chose this location because we wanted to make the most of hikes and sightseeing in Volcano National Park, and it definitely delivered on this goal - an 11 minute drive from doorstep to the Kilauea Overlook see see the Lava Glow. Péle made her appearance just before we arrived here after a 2 year break and it was exciting to take in the emotions, excitement and geology surrounding this incredible place. We benefited from other perks. Very quiet location. Volcano’s altitude seems to get above the majority of the rainy weather typical of Hilo. And the cooler air was a nice break from the humidity of the coast. This house is well built and appointed. We had all the dishes, knives, and possible cookware we could need. Our kids divided up into separate bedrooms but 3 kids could be very easily accommodated.
