Good location. Everything else poor or bad.

The location of the hotel in LlanfairPG is good for exploring Anglesey. There is a large, re-surfaced car park by the railway station opposite the hotel with good sized parking bays and, best of all, it is free. The double bed room was a good size with a view of the famous railway station and car park. That was as good as it got.

Upon arrival on the Saturday evening, there was an awful smell in the bar / restaurant / reception area coming from, I assume, the kitchen. The smell was similar to some self-cleaning ovens during the burn cycle. Eating there was a definite no. After eating elsewhere, we returned around 9pm to have an early night. Upon lifting the duvet, we discovered the sheets had many hairs, black bits and a stain. One of the bedside cabinets was also filthy (sticky and stained). The manager / owner(?) changed the sheet, pillowcases and duvet cover and cleaned the bedside cabinets. He insisted they had been washed since the last guests were there. The carpet had not been vacuumed for some time so that may have been the source of the hair and bits on the sheet. The (same) person preparing and serving breakfast had a very bad, persistent cough. He put his hand over the mouth to contain the spread and continued with his work. This, and the smell the previous evening, meant that the full English breakfast was not going to be a pleasant dining experience, but rather a fast refuelling operation followed by a hasty exit. The hotel is in desperate need of refurbishment. The decor and furniture is reminiscent of the 70s. Paper was peeling off in the bedroom. The bed and breakfast cost over £100 for 1 night. This is extremely poor value for money. Would we recommend this hotel? Absolutely not.

Good place to stay at LLanfaire PG

The staff was very kind. Very good atmosphere and the hospitality. It's very convenient to walk to the railway station and shops.

the bed was too soft to me. The carpet wasn't well vacuumed.

Perfect for a quick stopover. Friendly pub and restaurant on site.

Easy to find and parking on site. Staff were really friendly. There is a nice Indian Restaurant on site. What really impressed us is that they opened the kitchen an hour earlier in the morning as we had to leave early to catch a ferry.

For our purposes no complaints at all

Location, easy off road parking . Breakfast was fine, arrived to late previous evening for lunch. But plenty of chip shops near by. Staff where nice and helpful. Room was nice.

Last orders 9:30 ! Fridge in room balanced perilously on rickety table.

Good place for onward travel

Nice place to stay as not far to drive for ferry to Hilyhead, only 25 minutes away. Lovely food in bar. Nice breakfast. Friendly staff. TV with Sky to watch football

Fairly basic, small hotel that ticks most boxes.

Small hotel that's very accessible once you cross on to Anglesey. Convenient for Menai Bridge and Beaumaris for their attractions. Fairly basic hotel that's a bit 'Tired' but still clean and comfortable. Nice staff and a good brekkie. Private parking to the rear which is always a bonus.

Nothing really. I probably wouldntvstay here for a week (that's me...) but fine for a day or two. You can do far worse.

Really wanted to like this place.

Great staff, lovely food.

Awful bed which was a terrible thin mattress on wooden panels because the bed base was broken. Window screwed shut and tv didn’t work.

I would book again in a heartbeat.

The room was great value. The staff were fantastic and very welcoming. I had dinner in the restaurant and it the food was tasty classic pub fare. The breakfast included made it excellent value for a stay.

The bed was comfortable, but a bit old and tired.

Both the breakfasts and evening meals were outstanding with a wide range available. Helpings were large and the food was excellent. The hotel was very easy to find with ample parking. The location was ideal for transport access across the area, being located on a main road and opposite a mainline rail station. However, the road and rail traffic was very light with little or no noise. Despite the weather being cold, with blizzards at times, the heating within the room was more than satisfactory.

Whilst the bed was nice, it was a little soft for us.

The service was superb and the breakfast better than any place I have stayed. Very pet friendly. Clean, easy to find, great location for exploring. Don't be put off with it being a pub. There was no noise at all.

I stayed on agreat deal so had no expectation and for what I paid it exceeded it. The only negative was the bathroom. Although clean is overdue a redecorated and update but everything worked fine. It just was old and tatty.
