An 11! In the heart of town, warm, comfortable, scrumptious breaks: relaxing stay!

If we could give this stay an 11: we would! The location was central, right in the heart of Ambleside. The room was warm and inviting with fluffy towels and the bed comfortable. The spa was lovely and was used every night after our daily hikes. We enjoyed the wine and other complimentary items every night while using the free wifi to plan or watching Netflix and Sky TV. The abundant breakfast options every morning were delicious and Niall with his local knowledge provided us with many helpful suggestions which we followed and enjoyed. Thanks for having us! We will definitely rebook when we return to Ambleside from Australia!

Nothing- everything was perfect! Niall even kindly offered the use of the washing machine as we had stayed 3 nights.

Gem hidden in plain sight

This really is a gem hidden in plain sight.After years of walking past and not noticing that they provided accommodation, decided to stay here.Large spacious room, plenty of storage, great view of the church (and Loughrigg beyond) Breakfast is served in the cafe, and there is plenty of choice So good we will look at booking again

Excellent location for touring the Lakes district. Central to the town- walk to restaurants, hotels, buses, hikes etc. Easy check-in. Very clean and comfortable room. Great breakfast.

Stiles is the best by miles 10+

We’ve stayed in many different hotels/b&bs over the years in the lakes and Stiles has been the best by miles! We were overwhelmed by how great the service was. The people who run Stiles are what make it so great. They all go out of their way to make it special for you - for example printing the weather forecast for you at breakfast for Helvellyn, keeping the kitchen open for you to have some lunch and just in general welcoming you to their place. They act like they want you there and for you to have a great time. We stayed in the king room and it was large, comfortable, clean and I would look to book it again and again. Book Stiles if you can, you will be pleased you did.

Smiles at Stiles!

Great location in centre of Ambleside, staff were efficient and friendly. Loved the jacuzzi bath and shower. Nespresso coffee machine in room and plenty of teabags, coffee sachets etc. Even had 2 complementary mini bottles of wine. Really nice toiletries and super comfy bed and pillows. Lots of little touches that went above and beyond. The breakfast was great too. I will definitely be recommending Stiles!

The only thing, and this is being super picky, we didn't like the towels. They felt really lovely and thick and soft but they weren't very absorbent when drying yourself. First world problems I know! Everything else was spot on and we really enjoyed our stay. Wouldn't hesitate to return!

Nice service but smelly.

Staff put a lot of effort into welcoming us. We were there for our anniversary and they had put out a congratulations card and balloons, along with an afternoon tea upon our arrival. Breakfast was very good loots to choose from and bed was very comfortable. We had sky tv in our room too which was really good.

Unfortunately the bathroom smelt of stale urine. We asked for it to be cleaned but that didnt resolve the issue. Air freshner sprays were provided to us which made it a little better, but the smell was so powerful that it made relaxing in the bath not so enjoyable. They must have a problem with the plumbing..

The room was beautiful, spacious and comfortable. The complementary items were fab. Loved all the personal touches. Excellent location in the quaint town. The breakfast was outstanding! What a choice, we loved the smoothies. Staff were so friendly and made us feel really welcome.

The washing machine was noisy outside the room, very early in the morning.

Location was great Room was clean and adequate for what we needed Hosts and all staff were very friendly and breakfast was fab!!! Also gave us a permit for parking which was a lovely added bonus Would definitely stay again
