The residence, La Colonica, is a magnificent property overlooking the green valleys of Umbria, on the border between Tuscany and Marche. It is a warm, welcoming home, steeped in history as part of it was built in the modern era, given its position as a point of passage between the Papal States and the Grand Duchy of Tuscany. The history of its extension unfolds in four different eras up until its complete renovation in 2012. The panorama enjoyed from the house is picturesque, rich in the seasonal colours that adorn the fields and hills. At the entrance to the estate is play ground area with a private five-a-side football field. The house is located in Sansepolcro, the famous, art-rich town linked to personalities like Piero della Francesca who has left extraordinary works of art visible in the Civic Museum. Also famous are the many churches which conserve intact various artistic heritages of the Renaissance. The geographic location of the house allows easy access to other famous towns in Tuscany as well as in Umbria such as, for example, Anghiari, included in the list of the most beautiful borghi in Italy, but also famous towns like Arezzo, Florence, Siena, Assisi and Perugia, known both for their beauty and for their food and wine culture, which will render unique the memory of your stay in this splendid land.

Our group of 13 adults and 4 kids (5,9,10,16) had a wonderful stay at La Colonica for the final week in August.
We took advantage of the Chef & waiter service for the whole week which really made the holiday.
The booking process and subsequent queries we had about the villa were handled quickly and efficiently.
On arrival we were met by Luca who showed us around all the facilities and dealt with the deposit, etc. Luca speaks excellent English and was very helpful dealing with any issues.
The accommodation in the villa is very comfortable and nicely presented. Outside, the gardens are nicely maintained and the pool area and pool are excellent with plenty of sun beds.
The only area that could do with a little improvement is the outside dining area which was a bit tight to fit all 17 of us but we did manage to just squeeze in.
I would thoroughly recommend this villa without hesitation and also Home Away & Emma Villas that managed the booking

This is a perfect property for a large family traveling together. The beauty and the views were spectacular. Also, the small village atmosphere was exactly what we wanted.Everything was in good shape, the garden looked spectacular, and we took full advantage of all the bedrooms, and the kitchen. We were not looking for a tourist experience, so this was perfect. We were centrally located and that made for easy day trips.

This property is absolutely beautiful and typically Tuscan in décor - exactly what we had hoped for. It's spacious, clean, comfortable, and above all, charming. It’s full of so many interesting rooms and spaces, it allowed our large group to each have privacy, yet also had amazing communal spaces for doing what we do best: eating, drinking, laughing, and enjoying the storied Tuscan landscape. The pool was amazing with an outstanding view, bedrooms were well placed in the villa and the grounds are well kept

The house is comfortable, practical, and full of character. It's well equipped and has everything you could need from microwave to table tennis or WII. The pool and large gardens are very well maintained, and there are plenty of places to sit and read, or just kick back, do nothing, and take in the scenery. I can only recommend this house for both its amenities and locations. We would be delighted to experience again.
