About this cabin rental
Updated cute and spacious bunkhouse-like cabin for a romantic retreat in a small old west-like town. Incredible views of Lightener Creek and trout ponds. Feed the rainbow trout and domestic ducks, hike, ride mountain bikes, and enjoy a campfire. At 6900 feet, it's cooler than Durango so bring a jacket for the evenings. Rustic on the outside, but completely modern inside. Quick access to the Colorado Wildlife area, hiking of Twin Buttes, and only 10 minutes to downtown Durango. Close to skiing, fishing, hunting, and all the recreation the Durango area offers.
You can cross-country ski or ride mountain bikes out the front door!
Pets are welcome but please keep them off the beds and couch as the hair is challenging to remove. We will watch them for you if you're taking the train or going somewhere you can't take them.
Weddings and other special events are possible. Please call if interested.

We loved our stay in Dan's cabin! The beds are cozy, the location is close enough to town but away from the noise. Check-in was easy and effortless. Dan was there to welcome us on our arrival and explained where to find anything we might need. We loved walking around the property at sunset and seeing turkeys and deer. Definitely a great stay for the price. There was a steady rain on our last night and the rain on the metal roof was so relaxing. Would definitely stay again if we return to Durango!

Very nice relaxing place to stay. Great location to downtown Durango. Plenty of wildlife to watch. If you love camping without the tent this is the place to stay. Beds were cozy just like the overall feel of the place. Very Welcoming and would stay again.

We had a great time over there! It’s so peaceful and relaxing. Loved the owners dogs and ducks! Close to Durango but far away to have a peaceful stay

Loved the simplicity of the Bunkhouse!
The creek running through the property and the trout ponds added to the charm. We didn’t even turn on the tv. It was a wonderful location close to Durango that felt miles away.

We has a wonderful stay at the bunk house. 30 acres of meadows, rainbow trout ponds to ourselves. A rental property that is very unique. The owners were very friendly and inviting. Highly recommend staying here. Is very close (5 minutes) to DT Durango.

Great cabin with separate bedrooms and 2 bathrooms ...so much space in a beautiful location watching the geese and ducks in the pond. Superclean too!!

Absolutely beautiful view! Large area to walk and explore, not too far from town but far enough to get a break. Absolutely loved it!

We had a lot of fun with the kids and the property owners, feeding the fish, ducks, geese, etc. We also brought up motorcycles and rode around the property so beautiful and loved our stay.

we loved the open spaces, the ponds and river. The cabin was clean, comfy and cheerful with the owners art work. Everything we needed for our three days there. We would definitely return. PS our dog had a great time playing with Mocha, the owners dog. they ran and ran.

Awesome Adventure.

Unfortunately we are unable to provide a proper review because when we arrived at the property we learned that the owners had doubled booked the Bunkhouse. The only positive thing I can say is that they very promptly refunded our money. However, we were terribly inconvenienced, had to find a hotel for the 1st night and scramble to find another property for the remainder of our trip. Extremely disappointed.

Had a great time in the bunkhouse over a three day weekend. Hosts were kind enough to provide the space for us to put on a small concert. Property is beautiful, but still close to town. This is as old school Durango as it gets. We'll be back soon.

The bunkhouse is a nice property with comforting beds located on a beautiful piece of land with trout ponds. The owners are very nice and shared the history of the property as well as let us explore it. Our dog and kids loved running around outside. We would stay there again next time we are in Durango.

We could not get the furnace to work. Had a lot of difficulty getting TV to work and there was no regular TV - only things like Roku, Netflix, etc. could not watch football games on Sunday. Kitchen was not well stocked. Bathtub drain didn’t work (showers only). Just not pleased with the quality of the cabin for the price we paid.

Was wonderful just a little bit of a musty smell inside but we got a candle and it was perfect got to see lots of turkeys the area is beautiful and quiet everything is amazing very clean and well kept

We just loved looking out the picture window and staring at the surrounding natural beauty. Morning coffee and walks were a hit for us. It was indeed a romantic stay for us. The log cabin was clean. There is a coffee pot- but don’t forget your favorite coffee! Also don’t forget your hair dryer! We loved our rustic stay💖💙😎

We enjoyed our stay so much! The views are beyond gorgeous. Beautiful ponds and the creek is right across the meadow. We saw turkeys every day! Hosts were very kind and welcoming. Perfect location to feel remote, but less than 5 minutes into Durango! If you have 6 people in your group, bring an air mattress - one of the beds is a single.

This property was perfect for our stay. Our dog loved running around the ponds everyday and the host was very nice! Cabin was perfect for our needs and we were able to take a deep breath of fresh air every day! We hope to stay again soon!

Stayed here for 4 nights while moving Son into college. Beautiful property with views of meadow and trout ponds. Close drive to downtown Durango but far enough away to feel like you are in the backwoods. Would highly recommend and stay here again on future visits.

Two bedrooms really sleeps 3 there are futons in the living room. But it was worth the stay to see the nature. Close to Durango and the train. The owner was there next door very helpful.
