Long-time fan of Princeville and found this awesome home! We loved this home and the ability to spread out or hang out together in the living room. We would surely return!
8.0 / 10.0
This house is well-maintained and very clean. We all appreciated the level of cleanliness as well as the amount of complimentary items to use throughout the house. There was plenty of bath and beach towels for all 8 of us. There was also numerous snorkels, fins, goggles, bikes, boogie boards, and more fun items to use in the garage. The property manager was kind and easy to reach.
The only caveat was the living room ac did not work. We specifically picked this rental for the ac because tropical climates can be quite humid and unforgiving. We were informed the night before that they were trying to get parts to fix it, but for the duration of our week stay it remained broken. Thankfully, there were numerous fans we could use to manage the heat. But it would have been nice to give us a bigger heads up and overall really try to prioritize the functionality of amenities. The bedroom acs did work, so that was fortunate.
Overall, we would recommend this rental and would re-book with them in the future.

We had a great stay! The house was clean and was a nice respite after a long day exploring Kauai. We really enjoyed the view off the balcony and having our coffee there in the morning. The beds were all comfortable and we slept great. The garage was stocked with beach chairs, snorkeling equipment, boogie boards, a cooler, etc. Oh, and the outdoor shower was lovely after a day at the beach. It was nice rinsing off all the sand to keep from tracking it into the house. The property manager was great working through an issue we had and was very easy to get in contact with. We would definitely stay again!

The house was perfect for our needs. It was well equipped with all of the amenities. The garage was stocked with plenty of beach chairs, snorkeling gear and bicycles so we save money from not having to rent these items. Beautiful views of the ocean and for watch the sunset. Also close to the supermarket and beautiful beaches. Only issue we had was the upstairs shower was not usable until halfway through our stay but the property manager was able to get it fixed.

We loved spending this past week in this BEAUTIFUL home in Princeville!! The house is even better than some of the pictures! The kitchen was very well stocked. We loved enjoying family meals at the large dining room table as well as on the lovely lanai! The ocean view from the lanai was stunning! We loved the beautiful landscaping of the yard as well.
The bedrooms were very comfortable and we made ourselves at home! I loved waking up in the morning and looking out the window at the ocean! The full washer and dryer were a great asset after beach and hiking days! (as was the outside warm shower!) They had a great assortment of bikes, boogie boards, snorkle gear, beach chairs, beach towels and shade beach canapies in the garage for our use!
Thames was very responsive to our questions and shared his recommendations for north shore activities!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!! We had an unforgetable trip with our family! We would love to stay there again!!

I live on Kauai and when family comes, we usually rent a house for part of their time here. I’ve stayed in many vacation rentals on Kauai and this one is great. Great location, big and spacious, very well stocked and beautiful views! Love this place and will definitely try and rent again.

This was a great place to stay for our family of 8. It was a great location, great house and it matched the description of the property. The beds were very comfortable and everything was clean. Great views of the ocean. The neighborhood was very quiet. We had access to beach chairs and bikes. The kitchen was well stocked. The communication with the property managers was quick on questions. Each member of our family enjoyed this home.

Oh my goodness - the photos don't do this property justice. It is heavenly! Views are amazing, plenty of room for everyone, comfortable beds, and well stocked - we had everything we needed and more! Loved it!

We had an excellent holiday due to our stay at Hale Makalapua. The house was in a great location for walks to the beach, enjoying views of the ocean where we could see what’s from the deck and the Kauai’s verdant landscape. The neighborhood was quiet and just a short drive for groceries and eating out. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen well equipped for actually (!!) cooking meals. It felt very much like the owners actually use the home themselves, and as such it’s stocked with quality items- towels, glassware, snorkel gear, bikes etc. This was one of the best rentals we’ve had in a long time.
The property managers were very responsive to questions and requests.

Construction next door started at about 7 every day. At least start after 8 to be considerate of visitors wishing we knew well in advance. There was really no trail to walk to the beach from the house. Thames was very nice and responsive to requests.

The property is located on the north shore in the quieter town of Princeville. The house sits at the end of a cul-de-sac. The views from the lanai are stunning! We saw whales every day as we sat out there. The house was spacious enough for our family of eight. We had grandparents, four adults, and two teenagers. Communication with the property manager was easy. The quaint town of Hanalei is also very close by. The house was well stocked with kitchen equipment, and we loved the beach gear in the garage. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Kauai.

This house was fantastic. It worked so well for our family. Loved the view of the ocean! Didn’t use the beach that was close due to the weather (high surf). Had everything we needed and then some. Thames was responsive and helpful. We would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!

We had the most amazing stay in Princeville! The house was well appointed, spotless, beautifully airy, gorgeous views, with tons of space for our family.
The beds were comfortable and all rooms have their own fans and individual AC which worked flawlessly.
The hosts went above and beyond to make sure that our stay was perfect and they succeeded!
100% recommend this house!

Princeville gem with mesmerizing ocean view.
This house was the perfect layout for our incredible family vacation that included a 4 year old and a 20 month old. The north shore is our favorite town and beach area on Kauai, so this Princeville residence was perfect. The ceiling fans and mini split A/C units provided more than adequate comfort. The master suite is more than spacious with its ocean view bay window. The landscaping at the residence is very well maintained along with the Princeville common areas. It was very convenient to pack up the beach supplies from the garage that this rental has, plenty of beach chairs, cabana, boogie boards, snorkel gear, and sand toys. Bicycles readily available too. This extraordinary rental will be missed by all and will be booked again. Mahalo Thames.

Beautiful property!
We rented this property for a family trip and we were very pleased with our selection. The views from the back patio, the beautiful gardens and fruit trees, and the location for exploring the island were superb. Thames helped with planning activities before our arrival and shuttled our family to the beach on a particularly busy day. We would rent this property again.

February get away
Location of property was great and view was gorgeous! Communication with property manager was good and Thames offered lots of helpful hints. We did have a little glitch in our stay when we ran out of propane so had no hot water, no clothes dryer, and no stove. This was remedied the next day though. The only real negative we had was that the property needs a good, thorough cleaning. The cleaning staff should be checked on to make sure they are doing the job they were hired to do.

Lovely with a few shortcomings.
It was large enough for our groups of 7 adults. Beds were comfortable. The best part is the view and the lainai and we were able to see whale activity. The grassy area behind the house is also great for bird watching. Kitchen is well equipped.
The house could use some minor repairs. There were hanging wires and spackled areas that were left unpainted. Some window screens were not attached. It was clean but not sparkling, especially the grout in the shower upstairs.
It’s the only place I’ve stayed that did not have written information about checkout and local recommendations, which I found odd and annoying. After seeing a lot of praise for the property manger, we found him unimpressive. He did not respond to my message that we were low on toilet paper, and we had already bought more ourselves after some was left hours later. I had to message him for checkout instructions since none were provided and only learned that way that checkout was an hour earlier than what is stated in VRBO.

Wonderful Home with a great view!!!
We were a group of 3 couples in our late 60's and spent a week in beautiful Kauai and couldn't ask for a better place to stay. The house was wonderful, clean, well equipped and had a great view. We could see whales from the porch. Beds were very comfortable after each busy day enjoying the island. The neighborhood was wonderful! Thank you for a wonderful stay for our first time in Kauai!!!!

A beautiful home in paradise!!
My family and I stayed here for 10 days and loved this beautiful home. The pictures of the property were true to the home with beautiful views of the ocean from each room! We saw rainbows every morning from the living room and lanai. The neighborhood is calm and peaceful, and Thames was a wonderful host who offered us recommendations on places to eat and swim (especially since we were there during winter, so his guidance was appreciated as the ocean can be dangerous at this time of year!) We thoroughly enjoyed our time together celebrating my mom's birthday and Christmas in this beautiful residence!

Beautiful property
Princeville was an ideal location for our group of seven who enjoyed exploring secluded beaches, snorkeling and hiking. We recommend renting snorkels from snorkel Bob's on the way from the airport and trying the snorkeling at Hideaways beach. Thames showed us the right of way to Sea Lodge beach which is a short walk or bike ride, and the Ultimate Kauii guidebook had a great description of "Secret Beach" and the tide pools there. Serious hikers should get a permit to hike at least part of the Kalalau trail. The house had beautiful gardens, was clean and well stocked with cooking supplies and a nice grill on the patio, bikes and boogie boards. Thames was nearby and available to address any issues. The Hanalei mudlside makes it tricker to get there by car right now, but it's possible to walk or bike if you are willing to swim across the channel.

Spacious house!
We had 8 adults in the house for a family wedding, and all felt like the house had good space lay-out. Very quiet neighborhood and although you're not on the beach, you can see the ocean from most every room. Thames was very helpful when we ran into a few snafus with the wedding. Great time was had by all!

Absolutely wonderful!
This home was absolutely stunning and had more than enough space for our entire group! Gorgeous views from the balcony, and very well maintained property! We loved that there were beach chairs, boogie boards, and coolers inside the garage that could be used! Princeville is a wonderful place to stay and allowed for very reasonable travel times to any/all of our daily destinations. We would most definitely recommend this home/owner and would love to stay again in the future!

Our experience with at this property was fantastic. The pictures on the listing do not do it justice. It is incredibly spacious and has a great floor plan for a single family or a group of couples. The house had everything we needed for a week and then some.

Perfect Place for a family retreat
The photos of the house, though lovely, don't do it justice. The view of the ocean and the large lanai are marvelous. We spent many mornings outside watching the abundant wildlife. The house was spotlessly clean and spacious. The bedrooms were far apart which gave everyone the feeling of privacy but allowed us plenty of room to come together as a family for meals and entertainment. The landscaping is lovely. We enjoyed watching the orchids blooming around the garden water features. The large washer and dryer with a folding area were very convenient. The house was well stocked with basic supplies to get you started. It is located at the end of a dead end street in a quiet residential neighborhood. The kind and helpful owner even delivered a brand new gas grill to us at the beginning of our stay. I would happily rent this home again.

Paradise!
Our stay at the Opening Flower home was just as we hoped. The home is beautiful with a lovely ocean view. We saw so many rainbows during our first few days there. Sitting out on the deck in the early morning or evening is so peaceful. The downstairs master bedroom is HUGE! The other rooms are big enough for everyone to be very comfortable. We had up to 8 people with us during our stay and everyone had their own private area when needed. The kitchen, dining area, and living room are large and gave us plenty of room when we all wanted to be together. The only thing I would point out is that there is no beach access close enough to walk to. For us, that was not a problem as we all had cars. All in all, one of our favorite vacation experiences!

We loved staying in this very spacious home....had everything you could possibly need/want, truly felt like home!
Waking up to those views every day was fabulous!
Thames was very helpful and we loved checking out the cool beaches he told us about. He was also extremely accommodating when our plans were changed....can’t thank him enough!
Aloha!
