Disappointing. Historic building but that’s not enough. Room was noisy and dim. Irritating dripping noise kept me awake. Coffee maker did not work properly. Won’t stay there again.

Amazing stay, beautifully decorated for Christmas, breakfast buffet was great

Beautiful hotel with lovely staff. I will say the walls are thin. Lots of party with Christmas parties. Nothing wrong with that but you could hear a lot of noise while trying to sleep

We enjoyed our stay very much.
The service and amenities were great!
We were pleased with our dinner at Zoe’s and relaxing in the bar!
Our room was spacious and comfortable.
Our only concern was the ability to hear others around us in their rooms.
Thank you for an enjoyable getaway.

Not as expected. Have higher expectations.

A quite uncomfortable, a quite noise room and midnight can't sleep at all because of beside room talks, very clearly listen the conversation.
No secret as voice.
Old facilities so not clean, even no fill up soap and comolementary water, terrible service.
Not recommended as accomodation on Ottawa.

Had lunch and was given the wrong salad. The correct one was replaced, found a hair in it.
The upholstery in the restaurant very worn.
Shower unit was not working in our room
Washroom could use a paint

Beautiful!

Very disappointed. We experienced delays and issues from the moment we arrived. There was only one valet member once we arrived and at least 20 cars that needed assistance. Once we checked in, we were surprised to see plenty of dust, stains, dirt and a broken shower. We werent able to enjoy it and quickly left.

The room was not cleaned properly, there was a lot of dust everyday

The room was updated and smelt moldy. Everything was old, curtains had rips in them, bathroom was moldy and dirty. Quite disappointed for such a historic figure of a hotel

Property is very tired and need some updating and maintenance. Valet is terrible. Had to wait over 45min for my car and st that pricing, it’s simply unacceptable.

The only problem is the waiting time to get your car from the parking.

Absolutely beautiful hotel with impeccable service. Location is close to everything. Hands down, the ideal spot for a stay in Ottawa.

Just amazing to stay in the Chateau Laurier!!!!
And location, location, location….

Beautiful hotel, great location. Hotel room is a bit small but comfortable. The bed is exceptionally comfortable. One of the dining rooms is being renovated. As the hotel is right downtown it is a little busy in the lobby.

Everything was great

Love the classic grand hotel experience but man those walls are paper thin and the shower pressure wasn’t great.

Primary location to walk around the city .

I think for the price we paid for the room per night was a bit overpriced...the shower head leaked and sprayed water everywhere ...and they charged a price for everything even wifi was $20...the building was beautiful but showing its age and parking was very expensive also...but the staff were amazing

The hotel is beautiful and historic but it’s showing its age a little bit. The staff was very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Valet was a nightmare and it took us 30 mins to get our car when checking out.
The room was nice, outdated but still nice. The bed was very comfy. The biggest downside is this hotel allows dogs….I love dogs, but I don’t like hearing them back at 7am when I’m spending 350$ a night on a room
Overall we enjoyed our stay but would not stay again due to the risk of being woken up by barking dogs early in the morning.

Great hotel, affordable too. I recommend

Beautiful lobby and exterior. Unfortunately the walls are paper thin due to the age of the property and the fact that appropriate upgrades have not been made over the years. Noise is an issue. Highly unlikely I would stay again with several other options in the area provide nicer rooms at better value.

Lovely hotel with charm

Lovely stay overall! The building is beautiful and a signature is lovely. Few things that need to be improved: the parking situation, lighting in room, and bathroom cleanliness.

Fairmont Hotel is a famous luxury hotel in Canada, but unfortunately, the rooms seem old. the bathroom door did not close properly. the room door closed with pressure. the fridge did not have space if you wanted to keep something there and the parking cost is too high. I parked my car somewhere else. but the staff are friendly and helpful.

Amazing Hotel and building, in an incredible location.
Could be great to have a in a top floor a "terrace or city viewpoint" open to hote guest, the piscine is beautiful, only with a lot of chlorine and a little bit cold.
4.0
It is a very beautiful property but the rooms show their age. The main door was very hard to close and the bathroom area is very small.
1.5
It is a beautiful and full of history. However , I found the lobby furniture dirty. It is great if you are staying for an event there. It is a very busy hotel, a few weddings & conventions going on. You can hear the music in your room up until 11:00pm
The people watching was great but not my scene. The bar-restaurant Zoey is under construction. We did not like the terrace bar or menu. The only staff I found really friendly and helpful were the bellmen , housekeepers & bartender in the smaller quieter bar.
The rooms were updated but on the small side.
If you going to Ottawa as a tourist I cannot say I recommend staying at the Fairmont. The concierge has limited hours. I love the historic feel of the hotel but would pick a more modern place to stay.

Having to wait 30 minutes to even drive onto the property because of lack of parking attendants set the tone for our whole trip. The front desk staff was rude as I tried to check in as my husband was with the vehicle and (screaming) baby, we had to park blocks away from the property, the walls were paper thin and had to hear a dog barking all night. We asked for a late check out and when I had returned to the room to nurse our son and put him down for a nap, the room was already being cleaned. Overall, this was the worst Fairmont experience we have ever had.
2.5
The staff and condition of the hotel was excellent. Unfortunately we didn’t get to see much of the area around or explore the hotel as it was only one night stay. But for what we experienced, it was excellent.
Awesome staff!!!
