We love Rodd royalty, the pool is warm, the slide is fun and the beds are really comfortable. The hotel itself is a bit dated but is clean and comfortable. The breakfast is great !

The smell of mildew hits you in the face as you open the door; I spoke to the attendant on duty and he came down to the room and informed me that they aware of the odor and have in turn informed the owners who have done nothing…my concern is why rent this room out to people when they know there is an issue; its not that there was nothing else available because they offered us to look at 2 additional rooms that were available if we wanted to move…along with the musty smell, the sink/tub drain poorly and baseboards are falling off….definitely needs some TLC

Beautiful hotel

We loved the room, but as an end unit the immediate area included garbage bins, and it was a bit unsightly. At a minimum it honestly could be a bit cleaner/tidy.
Your reception staff are absolutely amazing; so pleasant, welcoming, lots of patience, kind hearts.
I do realize full well that staffing in other areas can be difficult, and this is only my suggestion, but better monitoring might help time management.
I would recommend this location to visitors.

The hotel is quite dated and needs an upgrade. The bed not too comfortable.

Nice stay. Breakfast offered only sausage for the meat, which I can't eat, but was good otherwise. The bathroom had almost zero counter space, which created some turn taking with 2 people instead of being able to share. Room was very clean, comfortable beds, quiet. The game room looked fun.

We stayed in the drive up rooms which are a separate part of the hotel because we needed to keep an eye on a dirtbike on the back of our truck. The rooms are old but they have tried to update them but there is no ventilation for the bathroom which of course creates alot of humidity and a continuous musty smell. The grout and tile in the shower looked moldy. The air conditioning is an house style conditioner mounted into the wall beside the bed so it blows directly on you and is extremely noisy. If the temperatures aren't high that part might not be so bad. Staff in the main hotel area are great and breakfast was good as well. They did offer to place us in an upstairs room for our second night but that didn't meet our needs since we needed an outside entrance.so we forfeited the prepaid second night. I cant speak to the inside of the hotel but it looks newer and cleaner

I don't understand the 4.5 star rating of this property. As a frequent traveler this is more of a 2.5 to 3 star property. The basics are fine, it's clean, staff friendly and rooms have what you need for a standard stay.

Right from check-in to check-out we had a great experience with this stay. The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was clean, comfortable and our kids loved having two floors. The pool was a hit with our kids, the water slide was their favourite part of our vacation. Breakfast was wonderful, with a great variety to please everyone. Can’t wait to stay here again.

Convenient location

Our first room with a king bed had a major problem with the toilet. The next morning they changed us to an upgraded room with a suite with 2 queen beds and a separate room with a tv and couch, for the same price. The shower head was exceptional. We liked that 4 EV charging stations were available at the back of the hotel, at a cost but very convenient. Only issue: not well indicated around the stations so non EV vehicles parked there occasionally. The breakfast buffet had a good selection of food.

Roomed smell like feces. Clogged toilet, which got worse over the weekend. Staff came and just sprayed Febreze. Offered no compensation at all or a new room. It was horrible. Would never stay there again and do not recommend it.

It was a good property but the view was horrible. We looked out onto an indoor swimming pool.

Stayed with my family in the executive suite which was advertised as being soundproof. It wasn't. We could hear people in the hallway and the neighboring rooms. Also, the pictures make it look like the suite is 2 rooms, when, in fact the wall Berrien the bedroom and living area has a 2 or 3 foot gap at the top. This means that you can hear everything in either room. I booked this for my family, so the young kids had a seperate sleeping area. However, given the lack of sound proofing between rooms, it was not a restful sleep. The hotel itself is fine. Great pool and really nice staff. This doesn't make up for the false advertising about the room and the super high costs. Unfortunately, we won't be staying there again.

I didn’t like the biker gang - this is my second trip to a ‘Rodd’ property in PEI which had a huge amount of bikers staying there! (Hell’s Angels and Red Devils)

We stay in the two story loft room. For our family of six - 2 adults and 4 children well with lots of space. Breakfast had lots of options and was delicious. Easy walking distance to food and shopping mall and grocery. Would recommend. Staff very friendly.

The property was a little dated, but the rooms were tidy and comfortable enough. The kids liked the slide at the pool and breakfast was nice enough.

Very small rooms and very old hotel which actually gives you a vibe of a motel!

The tub wasn't washed on my third stay. I had room 136 twice and the tub didn't drain well and the shower head had too much pressure and was declined when asked about moving to a different room.

I confess I was expecting a little more of the hotel. I had a great stay, but:
- The door didn't properly isolate the noise from the corridor. There were children running the corridor after 10 PM, and I could hear them. Children are children, and that's not on the hotel, but the noise isolation of the doors is.
- It was not easy to find parking in the parking lot. Apparently, they really have many many rooms, as the lot was practically full.
- Breakfast was consequently also full, especially because it's served between 6:30 to 9:30 on week days. Everyone comes down at around 9:00. I work in manufacturing, so I'm usually up at 5. So, I couldn't sleep until late on my vacations because I'd miss breakfast. Quality was good, though.
- The room was always clean; although, there was a rip in the carpet.
- The only mirror in the room was the one in the bathroom, not full body, though.
- To be insanely picky, the door stopper would prevent the front door to hit the closet area. Since there's nothing in the closed but the hanging bar (no drawers, bench, nor a door) I tripped on the stopper a couple of times. But again, this is very picky of mine, it's just a comment.
- In summary, I had several comments, but I had a good stay. I would try the one in Downtown Charlottetown, but they didn't have free parking.

We were in the motel section which made it very easy to unpack and reorganize as we were camping the days before we stayed here.

The room was a great size for our family. The sofa bed was lumpy, extremely uncomfortable and was extremely noisy when moving just a little bit. No sleep in that bed and had to move to a chair. Other two beds not comfortable either.

Lovely stay. Great breakfast!
