My husband and I stayed here for the first time but it won't be the last. I mentioned when I booked that it was my husband's birthday and when we got to the room, the hotel had put on a little cake selection and a lovely card. The room itself was clean and stylish, the bathroom was big and clean. The street the hotel is located on is full of bars, restaurants and shops. We loved it.

This is a great hotel in the city centre close to many drinking and dining options, and within easy walking distance of most of the city's attractions. My small double room was on the 3rd floor at the back of the hotel (away from the street) with a comfortable bed and a good shower over the bath. Excellent breakfast. All the staff I met were friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay here. However, I listed on the booking it was our anniversary and not much care was taken. The first room was ok but not cleaned properly, with hair and dust left in easy to see areas and the door handle was wabbly. We received an upgrade and the staff were lovely when we brought their attention to this. Unfortunately similar situation, handle on cupboard came off when I opened it, bathroom clean but few hairs that weren’t ours in easy to spot areas. Bed was very comfortable, bar staff fantastic and the girl at reception was lovely. Great staff but think some investment is needed in the bedrooms

The Met is a lovely old hotel! The room was great, clean and quiet. They have a nice bar/restaurent and live piano background music on our day of arrival. Easy access to the shops, food and late night music if that what you want.

The check- in process was easy, the front desk persons were very friendly. Just to note that this hotel doesn't have AC due to the age of the property, however fans are available of you need them. The person greeting us for breakfast was not very friendly and seemed to be upset when one of us changed the breakfast order.

Great location. Room was clean if a bit dated. Amenities fair. Not luxurious by any means, but very functional and conveniently located to central Cork. I probably would splurge for a bit more luxury next time, but if the price of the room were to meet your budget you won’t be disappointed.

I’m going to try and be fair but disappointed is an understatement. Breakfast, and breakfast staff were great, as was the location of the hotel. However, it’s a terrible hotel. It’s old, rundown and unclean. No air conditioning, dirty towels, plumbing including showers and toilets hardly work, the rooms are so small the undersized beds don’t fit in the room (can use the desk chair) and they claim it’s a 4 star hotel. Housekeeping left dirty coffee cups when attending to the room. I could go on. Simply this; find another place to stay.

Had a very bad stay here. First room we were checked into had a broken toilet, took them nearly 2 hours to figure out another room for us. We only had one night in Cork and was very disappointed with the service. Staff were helpful and accommodating but would NOT book this hotel ever again. Recommend to anyone find another spot.

Location good particularly if you travel by train. All staff thet we encountered were very friendly and helpful. It's an old ornate hotel but quite run down and in need of repair in areas, e.g...tiles in bathroom chipped, drawer in room didn't close. Also, cleanliness was an issue...dirty towel rails and door in the bathroom,dusty surfaces in the bar/restaurant area and the tv remote was definitely not clean! We had a twin room yet there was only one large bath towel. Breakfast was beyond disappointing! The hot breakfast which we ordered was good. However, the continental breakfast was certainly not 4 star. The selection was very limited. In addition, some of these selections were gone and not replaced e.g. pastries, yogurts and fruit! All in all I think there are better 3 and 4 star hotels in the city.
