Rooms are in need of upgrading. The AC was very loud (prevented me from sleeping properly).
The food was well prepared and tasty, however the variety of juices they offer is limited, the orange juice taste nothing like orange juice.

Don’t believe the pictures!!!! This resort is so outdated, I would never stay here even if it was free. The ladies at the front desk are beyond rude, the waiters inside of the dining room are crooks. They got about 50 stray cats walking ALL OVER the resort INCLUDING the dining room. I’ve seen a few cats drink out of the swimming pool water too. I was quite disgusted and safe to say that I did not swim in the pool. The ONLY positive thing I can say about this resort is… the drivers stay with you during your excursions outside of the resort and give you some history behind the beautiful country of Jamaica. Mark my words, save up some more cash if you can & stay somewhere else. I know I wished I could’ve stayed somewhere else !!!

Ocean front room was clean and comfortable. Grounds were clean and being refreshed by busy staff. Love that they don't use throw away plastics. All inclusive buffets were delicious and had a good representation of local foods. Drinks were yummy even though they don't use fresh local fruits (why not??) Staff were SUPER friendly, polite and informative! The four star is for the two (at least) restaurants that were no longer in service but still advertised. The Terrace restaurant service was good but food-not as good as buffet.

Catalonia (Holiday Inn) used to be my favorite place to go to however, when I booked my stay I was expecting the same energy and vibe like before. I don’t know if it’s because of the new management and they are probably trying to fix things but down to the drinks menu is limited and not much food options in the restaurants. I will be making a YouTube video with my honest review on Anthonette’s Diary feel free to subscribe and let me know what you think . Over all I would rate the entire experience 6/10… they only had bands as entertainment every night and the crowd wasn’t always feeling it . I am use to bands, dance groups etc coming in… definitely not what I expected .

The staff was amazing- they really do their best to make sure that you are enjoying yourself!
Orrett - the bartender at the adult pool is top notch- very professional and insightful! “Shorty”- the bartender at the Jerk Hut is very entertaining and makes amazing drinks! Stephen-the life gaurd is a man with a constant smile and watchful eye and always willing to answer questions about the sea creatures! We will be returning in a few months- our perfect place to recharge our batteries!!

Overall worth it outside of the room. Room could have been better a high smell of mold when entering in the room. Bathroom quite small could been a bigger size as it was cramped. Shower head needs changing out as the water does not spray out correctly. Water leaking from the corner of the tube due to the shower head. I didn’t want to complain as I was only there for 2 night and I was mostly out of the room. However buffet was absolute delight. Beach and pool was amazing. Staff super friendly and helpful.

I have noticed this issue with hotels in Jamaica. You have to prove to the security you have a reservation to go to the lobby to actually book one. Call the front desk and they claim to be sold out but there are so many rooms on Expedia. Book it online and bam! You can now go in. How stupid is that. I think it's just a way to keep Jamaicans out and I hate that. It's our country.

It was nice the only problem I had is I book my food on hotels.com and the price was $2964 and when I get there they charge me $3300 even though I show that it say this $2964 on the property one guy try to help and than walk away real rude and they tell me there will be no manager until the next day which I know it was a lie. Eventually I go to my room and it didn't clear and when I go out there and demand to speak with a manager that when I talk to a supervisor and she was very nice and respectful to me. She give me a room by the Ocean and I think that was nice of her! She did a good job making sure I was taking care of. But I love and I will stay there again and also recommend over to stay there.

When me and my 4yr old daughter checked in on August 3rd and went to my room, which was a superior room, there was no wifi and the tv didn’t work.
The shower was dirty with female hair all over and stains all over. The a/c was very noisy as well. I went to guest services and they only offered to send someone to check, not even an apology for the inconvenience and I had just checked in. I ended up not staying the next day because it was extremely upsetting. When I returned I went to guest services again and requested that they changed my room, which they eventually did.
When I went to the new room which was now a junior suite on the other side of the property just to find out again that the tv and wifi wasn’t working all over again.
I went and spoke to one of the ladies at guest services just before I went and had dinner. On my way back to the room, I stopped by guest services again to see if they were sending someone to check on the problems. The lady spoke to the maintenance guy over the phone and told me that he was going to come up in a bit.
I waited for over an hour which was now after 8pm. So I called down to guest services and tried to get some answers. The lady that answered told me that “she don’t know who I spoke to but it wasn’t her and that I would have to put in a ticket to the get the wifi looked at, also that if I wanted further answers the she would have the manager call the room”. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. Nothing was done for my inconveniences

The room was uninhabitable. Air condition did not work.
I requested to move to another room and the hotel would not accommodate my request.

I would not stay at this hotel nor would I recommend it to anyone. The room that we stayed in nothing worked, not TV, not the phone, toilet seat broken, night table lamp full of mold, ironing board dirty, bathroom door has no knobs. To be honest I should get my money back, thank goodness it was for one night.

The food was bad. The wifi is non-existent. The only place to get a signal is the lobby. The staff is rude. The keycard reader on the door kept glitching out.

We loved our stay! Between the food and drink options, the gorgeous beach and pool we had minimal complaints.

I didn’t know it was a cat city hotel.. ridiculous.. what about persons who are allergic to cats. My husband had a terrible experience because of the cats. I witness cats climbing on the dining chairs, heading for the table.. the utensils are full of flies..dining area smell terrible with garbage and dead animal

Didn’t like the fact I payed all that money to stay and I had to showered in cold water there was no hot so I end up catch cold and cough. Came back to America with this horrible cough and had so called out sick from work. That’s was my worst experience staying there.

The staff is and facility are unorganized, lack of enthusiasm, hospitality, time management, efficiency, and overall just very poor quality service and attention to detail. The furniture need to be upgraded, the staff trained. I felt that everyone there including the taxi services are just so hungry for money that they just want a to rip off the visitors and are only willing, happy and readily available when you show them American money. For my first time visiting the country I wasn’t as pleased to return unless they revamp everything including the staff.

Not what we requested. No TV, poor internet, poor food/drink availability. All staff told us different reasons for lack of basic services. Our room was clean and most of the staff were nice.

This was my first stay since the new management. The property was not a bad choice, entertainment was not enough, and there was no cable, so staying in the room during a rainfall was dismal. The food choices were also not the best in range. I would want them to get rid of some of the cats, especially in the dining area- this may be the reason for the name, but I would not have expected so many cats.

Definitely not a 5star hotel, therefore do not set your expectations too high on this one. Room services was upon an asked for it basis, I assume. I left for the entire day, returned to my room after midnight only to realized that my room wasn't cleaned, bed wasn't made. Only the bathroom amenities were restocked. I spoked to guest service who apologized. The tv never worked not once. I enquired, guest services said they had cable issues. One of the bellman was very rude, not Marlon. Marlon was extremely pleasant. The door to the terrace could not be locked. However, the food was great. The room was cool and the hot water worked. The beach made everything better.

I recently stayed at the Catalonia Hotel in Montego Bay, Jamaica, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. I've stayed here three times before at the Holiday Inn, no complaints.
First, the hotel was overrun with street cats. They were everywhere—on the grounds, by the pool, and even in the dining areas. If you’re not a cat lover, this can be incredibly off-putting. I was constantly on edge, trying to avoid stepping on or being approached by one.
The check-in process was another disaster. The staff seemed disinterested in helping guests stay at the hotel, preferring to prioritize those coming in for day passes. I had to wait for an unnecessarily long time while they roamed around aimlessly, handling other tasks that didn’t seem urgent at all.
As a disabled adult, I was appalled by the lack of assistance when I had an altercation with another guest. Security eventually arrived, but I had to coach them on how to handle the situation properly. This was beyond frustrating and made me feel even more vulnerable. There was no support offered, which is unacceptable.
The only saving grace was the friendly lifeguards, a few bartenders, and some of the dining staff. Unfortunately, their kindness couldn’t make up for the numerous shortcomings of this hotel.
Adding to the disappointment, I was there to celebrate my daughter’s 30th birthday. Not only did the restaurant staff fail to sing "Happy Birthday," but they did

We LOVE this resort SO much! This is my 2nd time staying and everything was just as wonderful as before. In fact I loved it so much last year that when I got home I booked my stay for this year. The only issue is we had NO internet/wifi and NO tv. It’s ok if no tv BUT we NEED Wi-Fi so that needs to be rectified immediately. It definitely affects/affects if I’ll rebook.
