This is a lovely old style fine hotel in a very well located place - 3 nights in February. Spanish Steps is at one end of the street and the other meets the Corso. Loro Piano is across the street, Eleventy a bit further down the street.
So plenty of shopping and restaurants to hand. Negresco well worth it for breakfast and lunch. Easy walking to most of the big sights, including Borghese Gardens.
Needs a more thorough refurb than the superficial one it must have got a few years ago. Receptions areas are enthusiastically decorated and are very pleasant to pass the time in. Chrome is well worn off the bathroom fittings. But spotlessly clean and housekeeping was thorough.
Bar is cosy. Dining room is also accessed from the street so it is like a restaurant separate from the hotel.
Staff are super friendly and helpful. Even the Concierge, a serious old school professional meticulous in appearance and manner.
We loved our stay and will be happy to stay again…when in Rome!

This was the second time I stayed at this hotel. The staff is wonderful, the location amazing, the bar and restaurant charming, we enjoyed everything about it.

TEH RESTAURANT STAFF IN GENERAL WERE NOT FRIENDLY, SUPER SMALL ROOM NO SPACE FOR LUGGAGE AT ALL. VERY NOISY STREET.

This hotel has a perfect location to enjoy Rome. The staff is excellent and the hotel itself is beautiful. For all these reasons, we've stayed at the Hotel d'Inghliterra over a period of two decades.

Very very good hotel, the best location in Rome, steps to the via Condetti, good restaurants around, Nice and helpful staffs. The only thing that I didn’t like was that the washroom was not fully renovated but it was at it’s cleanest possible.

Amazing location in Roma and wonderful staff.

Best location, great staff I feel the property needs some upgrade and maintenance

Smack in the middle of the upscale shopping district in old Rome in the Spanish steps area.
Rooms are small as well as the bathrooms, but super comfortable.
They offer turndown service as it is a 5 star hotel, but we missed it twice in our 4 day stay. The desk must be reminded of this when you go out for the evening.
The hotel facade is under renovation, so book your outside room carefully to avoid construction noise after 8AM.
Loved the hotel and staff and will go back again

We have wanted to stay here for a few years and it was disappointing. We travel to Rome frequently. The staff is very nice however the condition of the Hotel is very dated. Room had a leak which a pool of water accumulated under the carpet. Hotels.com should have advised construction outside property. We will not be returning to this Hotel in our future travels. It's a shame as the location is good. Rates were too high for a luxury property to have all of these details go unnoticed. We don't mind spending money on a Hotel as we were at the Hassler 2 weeks ago and it was amazing. I hope Starwood gets their act together because this hotel used to be a gem

Terrible sound due to reconstruction of the hotel.

We had to move from first room because of noise from renovation of hotel. We were not told about it. This is something that Hotels.com should have made it aware. Second room was not noisy but some light switches and electrical outlets did not work.

Despite being an ancient monument, this Hotel is comfortable enough to stay. Good service (don’t expect anyone to take your luggage, however) and clean rooms. The location is perfect, near Spanish steps.

Great location and will definitely stay here when in Rome

The room was on the top floor, in a kind of very small board. There was a very ugly bird smell. It had no windows and had a small door with access to a very dirty mini terrace, full of pigeons, feathers looking unpleasant. It was very small, it had only one light table, it didnt have wall sockets to charge a cell phone or laptop.I complained again and they told me it was the only one they had. They could not change the room.Recommendation: Do not accept a room on the 5th floor.

Location is excellent but hotel needs renovation
Breakfast is ok and you feel the ok touristic aspect on room food and service.

Photos of the rooms on the site are completely misleading. Rooms pictured are the only renovated rooms in the hotel. The rest of the hotel rooms are very old. Fine if that’s your thing but it was the complete opposite of what I was going for. There should be rules against doing this.

Amazing service, wonderful location.

Amazing location, amazing staff, my husband lost his sunglasses in a taxi, and the hotel was able to track them down and have them returned. Also the restaurant in the actual hotel is really good and reasonably priced vs some of the tourist traps out in Rome. Super clean rooms, overall great hotel if you have the option to stay here I strongly recommend you do

Great position.Would really like a kettle and tea coffee within the actual room rather than just room service facility.

The best hotel in the whole Italy. I want to say big thanks to Concierge Carlo. He is the diamond of this hotel. He is truly hardworking and professional. He made our trip exceptional. Besides that the stuff is nice and rooms are clean. Food is good. I’ll recommend this hotel.

I booked a superior double room and requested for 2 single beds at the time of booking for my friend and I. When we checked into the room, there was only one double bed. The room was also very small and I was not possible to open the suitcases. The room was also nothing like the bright airy rooms showed on the website. I then called the front desk and they said they did not receive the request for 2 single beds from Expedia and said the hotel was full for that night and any change would have to be made the next day. We did our sightseeing in the morning given the hotel was full and check out was at noon. When we got back in the afternoon and asked for the change of the room. The lady at the front desk said that all rooms are full, and blamed us for not going to the front desk first thing in the morning. Firstly, we were not informed what time we need to go to the front desk for the change of the room. Secondly, it was unreasonable for the hotel to expect us to sit around to wait for a room to become available. Thirdly, they should have reserved a room for us. The only option was to downgrade us to 2 much smaller single rooms.

I booked the trip through Expedia with breakfast included and when I arrived they told me I did not have breakfast included and they tried to charge me more per night. I was very upset how they treated me I will never go back.i had to have Expedia call them to say breakfast was included.
