The room was nice for what you pay, the front end attendant Nina was wonderful and attentive

Very quaint inn. The staff were very friendly.

Every aspect of our visit went extremely well with the exception of the bar closing in the middle of the Patriots game leaving a number of fans in the dark

It is a renovated schoolhouse and very nice for the price. Front desk was helpful and nice. Good continental breakfast.

Our room was drafty. The staff, except for the restaurant bartender, was largely indifferent. Of course they charged an additional $15 per day cover charge for being on the premises.

We stayed overnight on our way to Maine. This hotel is old, but well maintained and pretty clean. We were disappointed in the size of the room..very small and the bathroom was very, very small with no place to put or hang anything. Other than that, sufficient for an over night stay.

This inn is located in an historic district and is in a beautiful historic building. Charming is a good description of the place with friendly staff.

Second time staying here while visiting our daughter. Very close to the local restaurants in Exeter. Our room was a bit larger than the first one- but no chair inside the room! Only had the bed to sit on and that was about 3 feet high off the floor! (I have short legs) bed was comfortable sleeping. We ate breakfast on Sunday morning there- sooo delicious and the wait staff was excellent. There was a reception there on Saturday night so parking was limited, however, there are more than one door to enter so we did not have to walk a distance to get into the Inn. Our room was in back, and unfortunately had to listen to the rain hitting the canvas awnings below both nights. The comfortable bed made up for that! Overall a good stay.

Note to self - refuse to take a room on the first floor. Privacy is zero, which makes for an uncomfortable stay. Staff was pleasant and helpful, and the fact that they have a restaurant and bar onsite was great.

Nice personal touches. The staff were all very kind and helpful. Breakfast was pretty basic and rooms are on the small size, but I prefer to stay in a hotel that has charm compared to a chain hotel.

Location was the only positive.
When we arrived there was noone at the front desk, despite our calling to say we were arriving late (at midnight). The whole hotel is very dingy, chipping paint, dirty walls and carpet, poor lighting.
We put our bags on the floor in front of the air conditioner and it leaked and drenched all of our belongings and a computer overnight.
Will not stay there again until it has been renovated.

The Inn is in the center of the historic district with centuries old homes that are in pristine condition.I wish I would have had more time to walk around. The Inn fits right in with that.

Historic building well maintained. Everyone was friendly and helpful except one lady on our last day there. She seemed to have trouble stocking the continental breakfast.

Amenities in the room are quite aged, however they are functional.

A lovely location, so close to downtown, but still quiet. The building has all the amenities that we were looking for, but it had the character that older properties have, that are so often lacking in chain hotels.

Was a stay over on our way to our destination. Has a nice bar area and dining room. Parking on premises for free. Older hotel with charm our bedroom was small but comfortable.

We spent a one night stay at the inn. It was clean and comfortable.
3.0 / 10.0
The receptionist was welcoming, and the hotel is conveniently located. The room was reasonably comfortable but quite small and lacked a mini-fridge. While I don’t mind the older decor, the building would benefit from renovations, particularly in the corridors, which had a noticeable moldy odor.
The most disappointing aspect was the "continental breakfast." It was extremely basic, with only bagels and muffins—no toast, eggs, or anything special. By the time we arrived, most of the items had not been replenished. A couple who arrived after us even left due to the lack of options. Overall, the hotel is significantly overpriced, especially considering the additional mandatory local fees/taxes. I wouldn’t stay there again.

Loved this hotel! We enjoyed the character of the hotel but loved the updated amenities too. We enjoyed outdoor games on the lawn and headed into town for a wonderful breakfast in the cutest town.

The historic building was beautiful and quaint. Very New England.
Room was spacious, and in good shape. It was clean and had 4 windows with much natural light.
The bathroom was small and shower was tight. The hot water and water pressure was great until mid shower when it scalded me. The bathroom blinds did not close and the window looked into other rooms. So that was awkward. The bathroom was not exceptionally clean.
The room did not have a mini fridge or a microwave. The lights flickered which gave an old world charm. The mattress was well worn out and needed to be replaced a long time ago. Tv worked well with a wide selection of channels. Absolutely no noise in the room from outside or other rooms. Very quiet.
The gardens and back patio area was stunning, especially at night!

We were in town for a hockey camp. The food was excellent. The bees were comfy and the rooms were large. Yes, it's an older building but building with immense character. Couldn't be more pleased.

Bed was horrendous… so mushy and dipping. Carpets were gross. Outside and bar was charming. Front desk was nice.
3.0 / 10.0
None of us could shower because of the way the shower was slanted. The bathroom door was very noisy so everytime someone went to the bathroom we would wake up. Beds very uncomfortable and blankets were scratchy. Some of the towels were stained. TV in the room did not work. Grounds were very pretty and staff was nice. Dont think we would stay here again.

There were roaches in the room!

The Inn was dated. Given the cost of the room, the breakfast could have been much better

It was a sweet place to stay in Exeter. Nice, quiet and easy parking. In regards to the accommodations, the room bathrooms were updated but the rooms and hallways carpets could use some extra love and were very outdated.
I would also like a little more attention to details from the staff. We only received 2 towels for the four people staying in the room and breakfast options we're pretty much depleted a half hour after the continental breakfast was set up.

Older hotel located in historic district of Exeter. Room was quiet with a comfortable king mattress. Staff was very nice and helpful. We had an excellent dinner at the on-premises restaurant called Epoch. We started with a cocktail at the bar and enjoyed the atmosphere and the bartender, so we elected to eat at the bar.

Receptionist not much personality. Pity the bar doesn’t open on a Sunday. Surely the receptionist could serve drinks like we do in the UK
