If you are just looking for a place to sleep you got that here. No TV service, no where to up pack clothing, no blow dryer for your hair, no coffee pot, no fridg., etc. Just a place to lay your head.

It was exactly what i expected or needed

I get that NYC hotels are smaller, but this particular La Quinta also had chipped paint on the walls, a broken outlet in our room, poor noise isolation from the street (probably because of the window AC unit), tape wrapped around the plumbing in the bathroom, an uncomfortable bed, and cheap bar soap in the bathroom. For an upper west side hotel, I expected better.
The room served its core purpose well enough I guess - providing me a place to sleep (albeit, poorly), but it was uncomfortable and generally seemed to be in disarray. Next time I need an UWS hotel, I may need to splurge and look elsewhere.

Stayed one night for a concert. Would recommend to anyone

The tiniest hotel room I've ever stayed in (no room for even 1 chair!) and also the most costly. But I DID get a room even when the UN General Assembly was meeting. Nice location between Lincoln Center and the Natural History Museum on the west side of Central Park. Clean room, nice people, and good breakfast area. - jj

Most staff is very nice. But I called to ask about luggage storage before the trip and one of the female staff told me that we can’t keep the luggage after check-out which made us troublesome while planning the trip. When we check-out, we saw some luggage at the lobby so I asked again and the male staff told me that keep the luggage is not a problem.

The location of this hotel is perfect for our needs, but for the price, the place is pretty run down. We had a king bed room on the second floor, and the furniture seemed like it came out of a frat house dumpster, frankly. Lots of dings and paint splotches on the walls that could have been easily fixed up. The rooms are small, but that can't be helped because of the building itself. The staff was very friendly and helpful, although we did pay for a very early check-in, and still had to wait in the lobby for about 45 minutes after our check-in time for the room to be ready.

Very dirty, not worth the money at all. Spend elsewhere

Our keys didn’t work. There was a bug in our room. The shower wasn’t clean.

This was an amazing Upper West Side location. Just around corner from the B and C trains. Easy to get everywhere by foot or by train.Safe neighborhood. Right off Columbus Ave and great restaurants just on the corner. The hotel itself is classic older bldg. We had a queen size room on 1201 and this gave us great windows to central park and even the sunset skyline. One small size elevator and sometimes it takes longer time to get up/down at checkout times and breakfast times. But, we took steps to avoid this. The room is small but has all you need (a queen size bed, deep reach-in closet, a dresser, and two nightstands-- that's alot of storage for a small hotel). Breakfast was just OK. but you're in NY so go out and get bagels and smear instead! The price was great for the value of the location, ability to store luggage before/after, great front desk staff (all of the people were so lovely and helpful), and comfortable bed made this a great stay.
3.4
Convenient location but the property is in a bad shape.

Highly recommend for those visiting the area on tight budgets. The hotel is older, but efforts have been made to update the facility and it shows. Rooms are small but sufficient (if you're planning to be out & about rather than room bound) & clean. Water from the tap tastes good; showers have plenty of hot water. Staff - and I mean *all* the staff, on any day and at any time - were absolutely terrific, very friendly and very helpful. The free breakfast was varied from day to day, but warm and tasty - I looked forward to it each morning. The location is great - right next to Central Park & the American Museum of Natural History, as well as shops and plenty of eateries. Just a perfect choice for travelers with restricted budgets. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat! Thanks to all at the hotel for a wonderful experience!

Hotel was great but it’s New York so rooms are very small. Front desk staff and cleaning staff are awesome!
3.4
I am an older woman and I don’t have a cell phone and the phone in my room was not working. Making hard to call family members. I would have to go down to front desk to make a call.
3.4
Not so good
3.4
Less than 1 block away from central park
3.4
Many things didn't work or worked poorly, shower handle broke, air conditioner leaked water on the floor, elevator was a long wait. Lobby and breakfast room were HOT. Staff was responsive.
3.4
Cockroach in the room
Mold in wall cooler unit
Rat in breakfast kitchen
Dirty sofa in lobby
First and last visit

It is a hotel located in Manhattan. Like all affordable hotels in the city, there are tight spaces, one elevator and no central air. The rooms were tight and hard to navigate; however, the service by staff was amazing. Our check-in experience was warm and welcoming!
3.4
size of room and air conditioning was sub-par
3.4
The property was not clean. Rooms were super small! Staff were nice but services were poor. They charge resort fee which was not mentioned while booking on Expedia.
3.4
Clean, safe, great location for getting around NYC.

I stayed here 3 nights in July 2024. It was hot and the A/C was cold (a plus). I loved the location on the Upper West Side. Hotel is a block from Central Park and all the eateries!
Downside is the rooms are so very tiny!! Like super duper tiny but functional. The bed was comfy and the shower pressure was great! Water was hot.
I ran into two small problems during my stay that was corrected! One minor issue was my TV stopped working on the evening of day one. Stephanie intervened and the issue was fixed the next day. It took maybe 3 hours and 3 universal remotes later. Second issue was the power outlets in my room quit working. I couldn't charge my cell phones. Guillermo did "fix" the plugs by the evening of day 2. I would stay here again because of the location and LaQuinta Staff was nice. Close to subway!!!!!
3.4
Great location staff are not professional and one elevator for 14 gl
3.4
Good property for price.
3.4
Nothing ....disapointed
3.4
The staff were friendly and helpful. There was however, always a line for the elevator.
3.4
Bad hotel! The worst. With 94 Fahrenheit in New York and the air conditioner unit didn’t work. And the hotel didn’t give us options, fix it was imposible and they didn’t have fans available.
Carpet in the room was nasty. My white sucks turn black walking in that carpet
Bed sheets where dirty.
Restaurante opened late for breakfast and boiled eggs (only option available) where disgusting
We knew will be no the best because of the price, but gosh never imagine will be that bad.
3.4
Definitely the New York experience as far as space goes, but it was very comfortable, the AC worked wonders even in very hot days, right next to Central Park. Bottom line I had a good experience.
3.4
Nice area. Nice staff.
3.4
There was a surprise hotel fee charge that I didn’t know about. Hotel not worth the cost. Male front desk staff member was blasé, and I felt disrespectful, because when I put my hand out to receive an item, i.e. the pen to sign and then my returned credit card, he intentionally bypassed by hand and placed place item on the counter. I consider that disrespectful and unprofessional.
3.4
Extremely cramped room, not suitable for 3 persons. The washroom is really small, and can hardly stand in there. Clasutrophobic overall, and wifi and A/C did not work adequately to add on to the troubles.
3.4
Great location, next to centralpark. We started every day with a morning run in Centralpark and the breakfast at the hotel was good. Close to subway and Museum of Natural History. Comfortable beds.
We did not stay much in the hotel. Elevator is slow, Wi-Fi did not work in the room, daily cleaning is every third day. However, the staff was friendly and helpful.
For some nights, I think its ok because of the location, but for a longer stay, I would not stay here.
3.4
Bery professional and helpful. It was my first time in New York.
3.4
Many problems. No room key since the key machine was broken. Frontdesk personell was friendly the first day, but not the following ones. Room was not made the second day. Breakfast room with no air conditioning despite summer heat. Impossible to enjoy breakfast there.. Location is excellent, but the building is long overdue refurbishing.. Rooms are very small. Elevator slow and overcrowded..
3.4
The key machine at this property didn’t work so to get in I had to ask the front desk to open my room door. Annoying!
There was a leak in the bathroom above the toilet which was terrible every time I had to use the bathroom
3.4
The customer service was terrible and the staff very unprofessional.
3.4
No key, really a deal breaker. Friendly staff but I advise users to seek a more updated hotel.
3.4
Door keys don’t work. Attendent must come each time to let us in. Internet is not operational. Our bill should be adjusted.
3.4
I never complain but this hotel is not fit for purpose. I'm a seasoned traveller, this hotel had the worsst beds, was dirty, had one elevator for 14 floors and the bathroom was unworkable.
