This hotel is 17 miles from town and the restaurant wasn’t open on two of our days. Wish we would have known that. Had breakfast on our last day and it was very good.

They very friendly. We just got married and they upgraded us to the best room. It was amazing.

Everything was great except our coffee maker wasn't working properly, so we'd have to go to the lobby anytime we needed tea or coffee. But the view was amazing and we really enjoyed going to the creek to relax. I also appreciated that they allowed us to check in a little early when I was having a medical episode that my service dog also kept alerting me to.

Always amazing to stay here and to see Jenn when we arrive. So friendly and helpful. We also can’t go without seeing Shay at the bar and restaurant. Food is amazing and they always have great specials. The pot roast soup is outstanding!!!

You would expect that a Mountain Lodge with a huge stone fireplace plenty of firewood stacked on the mantle would have a fire going. But even when I asked about getting a fire started it never happened very disappointing

Our room was adequate, clean and reasonably comfortable. The bathroom was very small and there was some water pipe noise that came on at random day or night. The location of the property is good; the surroundings are walkable. The staff were friendly including the restaurant.

From walking into the lobby to checking out, was great atmosphere, friendly staff, beautiful scenery. Food and service in restaurant was excellent. Definitely worth the drive

Only discovered the night before our stay that the restaurant and bar would be closed, despite having had emails from them beforehand. Arrived in the dark(our fault) and did not relish driving anywhere to eat after a long day, so we had brought in some food. Some advice about the closure would have been appreciated. Check in left a lot to be desired. Kept waiting an awful long time and did not feel at all welcoming. The room itself was really lovely, so I’m sure if we had arrived on a different day our feelings would not be the same

Beautiful area with clean, well appointed rooms and common areas. They could skip the "Resort Fee" this time of year, as there really isn't much opportunity for an overnight guest to use the amenities.

We’ve been coming to Kohl’s Ranch since the 1990s. Sad to say it is increasingly impersonal & lacking the charm it once had. The $21 “resort fee” (To cover the laundry facilities, pool, etc) is just another surprise fee that made us feel taken advantage of. Why not include on the price rather than spring on you when check in?! The price is NOT accurate if you leave out $21. Rooms are basic with only 2 towels. I’m sad to say that after 30+ years, this is our last stay.

This place is great! It's in a remote location in the forest that is beautiful! If you don't live around pine trees, you must stay here! The restaurant there was amazing! And the room was really nice. I didn't get to use the amenities cuz I only stayed for the night but they have a ton of activities surrounded by beautiful scenery! If I had one issue it would be that they don't have enough staff to always be there for you. When I got there I had to wait 30 minutes to check in because the staff at the desk had to take a lunch. But honestly, I had just finished my work for the day and was hungry which gave me the opportunity to try the amazing food they serve. All together it's still a 5 star for me and I will come back here when I'm back in Payson!

THE PROPERTY IS EXCEPTIONAL. THE GROUNDS ARE BREATHTAKING. THE ONLT BEEF I HAD WAS THE WIFI IS NOT GREAT BUT THEY DO ADVERTISE THAT IS THE CASE. THIS SEEMS LIKE IT WOULD BE AN AMZING PLACE FOR A FAMILY VACATION OR REUNION. CAN’T WAIT TO GO BACK WHEN I CAN STAY LONGER.

This property was nestled in the pines in Payson. The room we stayed in had its own outdoor patio and everything about the stay was relaxing! Will definitely be staying here again in the future!

I highly suggest you take time and roam the property, there is an abundance of wildlife, and beautiful scenery. If you find the crabapple tree, they are very tasty.

Great setting with lovely mountain views and great access to Mogollon Rim. The Lodge is clean,with friendly staff and many on site recreational opportunities. Even had a port to charge my electric vehicle, although at 16 amps charging took a long time. Perfect getaway from the heat of the Phoenix metro.

Older property but well cared for and super clean. Good in restaurant was mediocre with very high prices. We had 2 bowls of chili and order of zucchini wedges and water to drink $40. Went down later and got the peach cobbler to go and it was the best I’ve ever had

First your property is a perfect. I wish I knew you were there. I’m staying monthly from now on. The most important thing to me is service and how people treat me. Your people are your gold. I haven’t been treated that well at a hotel for years. As a result I’ll be there monthly going forward. You understand business!
