Nothing, It was absolutely beautiful and my family and I will be coming again

The grounds are perfect. Beautiful location surrounded by trees and the creek. The lobby and the rooms are well decorated for the area.
My only complaint is the mattress. I like firm beds but this mattress was really firm! It was heavy and seemed really old. An upgrade would be helpful. This is the only thing that may stop us from returning. Everything else was perfect.

Location, lodge and facilities.
Food at restaurant was not great. Room had no closet or hanging space for clothes and paper-thin walls. Bathroom was tiny, cramped and had poor lighting.
Overpriced for area including resort fee.

The upgrade to the cabin on the creek was an exceptional move. We will definably be back with extended family. Being able to text with the staff was an unexpected treat.

The pretty surroundings. The front desk young woman when we checked in was very sweet.
There was no convenient food source and it was too far to go out for a bite to eat. Very noisy and ineffective air conditioner. There was so many humming machines that a quiet stroll on the grounds was impossible. Very small shower and toilet room. Hidden “resort fee” which we didn’t have a chance to take advantage of when staying only one night.

Location and scenery
Tooo many kids in the pool. Kids in the spa.

Everything was good clean up...staff was very professional 👌 the place was super excellent 👏
The mattress wasn't soft enough for me..

I loved my view, the fireplace in the room, comfy bed and amenities in the room

Beautiful location. Friendly staff.
No cell phone service and Wi-Fi did not work. Cabin very small not as appeared in online layout. Front and back porch dirty and full of cobwebs. Has a late check in time of 4pm and early check out time of 10am. Sprinkler system went off at 2am hitting the side of the cabin keeping me awake. Furniture in cabin had a lot of wear and in poor condition.

Beautiful setting, extraordinary romantic room with fireplace. Staff were wonderful. Our waitress was friendly and professional.
Yes, you can be both…lol.
Can’t think of a thing.

Friendly staff; wonderful surroundings with a creek and birds in the trees. Nice kitchen and room. Lovely lodge and a good restaurant on site.
The pillows! Do people really sleep on those super-fat pillows? I did get a feather pillow after the first night but even that was too plump to be entirely comfortable.
There was an electric car charger that worked poorly the first time I tried it, but finally charged the smallish battery in my plug-in hybrid. The second time I tried to charge my battery the charger came on for exactly one second in several dozen attempts.

Great family activities and fully stocked kitchen and bathroom
Grill closed Mondays and Tuesdays.

great scenery, spacious cabin and deck, affordable, phenomenal staff

Beautiful facility
Bar and restaurant closed at 8:00. Short staffed as well.

I liked everything! I could explain each detail with joy in my heart , but the top most favorite part was the fact from the beautiful cabin you can hear the noisy creek thru the windows. You can see it and walk right over to see it. It's running really fast from snow melt. It's Soo secluded deep into the pines and aspens. This cabin had everything I could have thought of needing and more. Kohl's Ranch in Payson AZ is my perfect destination vacation.
The only thing I might hint towards not liking would be check-out only because it starts back to the Daily Grind.

The balcony overlying the creek was beautiful and the inside of the cabin was clean, well stocked and staff was friendly.

Beautiful location in the pine forest.
Isolated and not a lot of amenities.

My only issue was I didn't have enough time there!! It was very clean, cozy and staff super friendly.
It'd be nice to have breakfast offered

The price for the studio was reasonable. The bed was comfy and the room was rather spacious with a fairly fully equipped kitchen (that we didn't use).
The bathroom could be a tad bit large or wider.
4.4
Very neat ranch in a remote location, nice rooms, and outdoor pool with hot tub.
Excellent coffee in the lobby.
The AC/heat unit was mounted at head level beside the bed and was quite noisy.

Wow! We just love this place. I bbq my wife a beautiful dinner and we woke up to it snowing. Just a perfect date
That I don't live here

I loved the squirrels 🐿 and the small lake behind my cabin I loved every second I was there

Beautiful location right on the creek.
Septic tanks are quite smelly.

it was beautiful
construction going on

The area is beautiful.
My expectations were a little higher than what I experienced staying in the main lodge. Next time I would stay in one of the little cabins.

Staff were awesome. Facilities were... kinda great.. until they found themselves incapable of operating a restaurant and bar without internet. On New Years Eve. Damn place was closed by 3:00. You can tell the difference between owner-operator and Corporate- this is corporate.

Kohls Ranch Lodge ended up being quite a nice experience as when reading reviews, I couldn’t tell. This is an old lodge with room and cabins that has recently been purchased by Hilton from what I understand. One can tell many improvements have occurred as rooms have been redone (but still have a cabin rustic charm), new sidewalks, pool is either new or been improved, outside area has a putting green and outdoor activities.
The rooms actually had a coffee pot which to me was rather rustic to fit the lodge. There was a small refrigerator and microwave in the room. New manufactured wood floors were nice and so was shower. Strong hot water!
The restaurant was a gem. The night we were there, the saloon was open and that’s where we ate. You must eat the smoked meat as they make it on site. We eat Kansas City BBQ all the time and let me tell you, the meat platter was absolutely delicious! It had ribs that fell off the bone, brisket and pork. Very good. Heard later that the peach cobbler is fantastic. Wish we had tried that.
Everything was decorated for Christmas and was very pretty.
Loved all of the historic photos. Would have loved to have learned more about the lodges history.
This will be a top notch place to stay if one is seeking a mountain lodge experience but with modern amenities.
My biggest complaint was the old type heating and air system as when it would kick on, the fan is loud so it would go off and on constantly. I finally just turned the fan on at 3am so the sound was consistent but it was a bit chilly.
Wi-Fi needs improvement but was on vacation so really didn’t care I could get my emails.
