Our group of six cyclists love Carmel Valley Lodge. Staff are very personable and helpful. The lodge has a charm that the hotel chains cannot match. The locally roasted "Fog Cutter" coffee was excellent. The included breakfast was outstanding, freshly made, and had lots of variety. We would have rated five stars, but there were a few problems. The heater thermostat had a faulty switch that required switching it on and off a few times if the temperature setting changed. New batteries were needed for the mini-spit remote in one of the bedrooms, and a new battery was needed for a fire alarm in another bedroom...it kept beeping off an on throughout the night. I have every confidence the staff will quickly fix these problems.

The check in process was very easy. The manager was the absolute sweetest person and her doggy assistant is so adorable. The fireplace was our dog’s favorite place to relax. Upon check in we were given a list of walking distance restaurants and wineries (many of which were dog friendly!)

The entire staff was friendly and welcoming. They even went out of the way to provide a takeout breakfast since we had to leave early. The property was very clean and our room was charming.

We enjoyed our stay at the Camel Village Lodge. All the staff were very nice and helpful to us. The room was comfortable and spacious, bed was comfortable. Check in and out were very easy. The breakfast was very tasty. The grounds are very nice with mature landscaping. The is an older building, so some may prefer a more modern place, but we liked everything. If we return to the area, we will definitely stay again, and we highly recommend it.

Great find in the area. It also has the added benefit of having an EV charger.

We had a lovely weekend stay and will definitely be back! Beds were comfy, the location was quiet and beautifully landscaped, and the hot tub was great. Very clean property. We really appreciated the nice front desk staff and breakfast cooks, they were very friendly and professional. Amazing and plentiful hot and cold breakfast, including frittata, croissants, fruit, yogurt, juice and coffee/tea, etc. WOW!

It is a lovely place with nice warm welcome feeling. Although The room decors are outdated but they are well maintained and clean. There is a community park nearby and it is perfect for dog walking. Also, fresh- made breakfast is a nice touch.

The staff, particularly the woman handling breakfast, were very nice and accommodating. The grounds are lovely. The room itself was a little run down and had a hodge podge aesthetic (numerous colors of paint, patterns on wall

When we booked this hotel room, it indicated that there was a king size bed with a fireplace in the room which was not the case. The hotel description also indicated that that there was a pool, hot tub and a fire pit all of which were not functioning during our stay. Expedia needs to do a better job of ensuring what amenities are available during what time of the year for their hotels as I never would’ve booked this hotel knowing that the hot tub was not in use.

Our room was large and had a nice gas log fireplace. Very relaxing and clean. The staff was very friendly and professional. We left before breakfast was served but the lady preparing breakfast sent food with us....it was delicious!

The man at check-in was so incredibly rude and demeaning, I was shocked by his behavior. The room was extremely stuffy and we learned there is no air conditioning (Carmel Valley gets very warm in the summer). We love the area but will happily support other hotels that are kind and welcoming.

Property was nice and the grounds! But we got on site at around 1 pm and flew in from So Cal and we had to pay an additional 15.00 dollars an Hr for early check in so I was charged an additional 30.00 I have never been charged for early check in!

Great location - walking distance to village. Short drive to hiking trails. Comfy rooms. Nice pool and small hot tub. Some kid friendly stuff like garden gnomes, and giant chess board add to the charm, (although the singing wishing well can be a bit annoying). Great gift shop with handmade items. Definitely will stay again.

This was a quaint, enjoyable lodge. The service was excellent and made the whole stay excellent.
There were a few quirks like a noisy fridge and difficulty with the room heater being at 80 F with the thermostat off. We were able to work around this and again, the serve was so good that this was just a minor convenience. The breakfast was excellent and we enjoyed the fire pit and the hot tub as well. Great stay. We will return.

Cozy, quaint out of the way lodge with a beautiful room, friendly staff and exceptional service! Loved our stay. Off the beaten path a little but still in easy driving distance of Monterey, Pebble Beach area with nice mom & pop type restaurants around the corner. We will definitely be back.

Our stay at the lodge was...fine. The good: it was pet friendly and very convenient - we could bring our dog everywhere, even to breakfast, and there was a park nearby to play fetch with him. The hot tub was a nice perk, especially on colder nights. The not-so-good: The walls of the hotel are super thin - I could hear my neighbours sneeze. The fireplace, which seemed too good to be true, was. It was just a heater with a fake fire image. The room itself was worn and dated, but clean. You don’t want to spend too much time in there, but it’s a good launch pad for great hikes and wineries in the area.

A quaint although somewhat dated property. We stayed in one of the bungalows which we'd recommend. Spacious sitting area attached outside the room. If you're on a wine tasting venture perfectly located just up the road from the Carmel Valley Village. Highly recommend stopping in at the Corkscrew.

The location and price was great. The grounds were charming but the building and rooms could definitely use some updating. The bathrooms and the hotel room were clean, just dated. The walls needed painting and brightening. The electrical outlets would not hold any of my plugs, they kept falling out so it made it difficult to charge my phone and tablet and use my steamer.
There was so much potential to the room and the buildings, but it had some neglected maintenance. Painting the outside a brighter color, and repairing the inside unit walls (plaster was missing in a few areas) and painting it a brighter color too would be HUGE to making the hotel so much more attractive. Staining the balconies a lighter stain would be more aesthetically pleasing as well. Overall, I appreciated the charm of the hotel and the staff was very nice. I also appreciated a clean bathroom. I would stay here again but I’d hope to see it a bit more improved next time around.

Friendly staff, comfortable lodging. Loved the king bed. Pool was thankfully not as exposed to parking area as feared from photos; it's a good size too.
