Room very dated. Tv so small so not worth having. No bar for afternoon drinks opens at 4pm. The windows in the room look like they have never been cleaned
2.5
Street view a little off-putting but immediately off set by the warm friendly welcome at reception with full info to help with our stay. (Great idea to have a microwave downstairs for maybe heating up a late night supper for instance! )
Inadvertently booked standard twin room but Suzanne reception staff was lovely moving us to an "executive" twin, nothing too much trouble!
Room was spacious and very well equipped with a small fridge in bedroom, and ironing board and iron for instance, all making it well worth the extra few pounds for the upgrade.

The hotel is a big old and in need of some tlc but is comfortable enough and the staff are very friendly .
The room cost includes a drink at the bar which is fabulous!
Breakfast was fine and very affordable.
There is a pool sauna and steam room for use too .

We had a really lovely one night stay at the Elstead hotel. It was very convenient to be able to park right outside the hotel and it was walkable into the centre of town for an evening meal. We enjoyed a drink in the hotel bar and the provisions for breakfast were very good. The spa was an added bonus.

We were very pleased indeed with our room, it was the best we have experienced in the UK for a very long time. Extremely comfortable - spacious and well appointed.

Lovely staff. Couldn’t help us enough. They could see my friends motability problems and gave us a room that made life so much easier. They helped us with places to eat and were all so friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the sauna and the pool. The hotel may be a little dated but everything else made up for that and more. A fabulous breakfast, which I looked forward to each morning after my dip in the sea.
A big thank you to all the staff.

Hotel slightly dated but amazing staff and room was large and comfortable. Good place to stay

Excellent staff. Trying very hard. Hotel in need of refurbishment. Great location. Near station.

The hotel need to close and have a full refurbishment.one presumes they do not or can not get an alcohol licence as bar only sold soft drinks and coffee.
The windows in our room were filthy and one of the chairs was ripped exposing the padding and the carpet was worn exposing the thread of weave. The staff were pleasant and polite . Our bathroom was nicely tilled with mould on sections of the silicon.
Tea and coffee were supplied in the room and the hotel had a swimming pool which we did not visit.
The hotel overall is very very dated and does not warrant the charge per room per night.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel for 4 nights. We were Bed & Breakfast. Check in was excellent as we arrived earlier than the check in time but our room was made available within 10 minutes. Twin room we had was clean and tidy. The room was one used by the disabled, so it was large and roomy. Large dining room. Breakfast each morning was adequate. Both continental and a few hot plate choices of bacon, sausage, scrambled egg and hash browns, with juices, tea and coffee a plenty. Bar area was nice. The gym, pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna were all excellent, nice to relax and unwind there after being out walking all day, although the gym area and changing rooms could do with a bit of modernisation as they looked a little dated. Overall an enjoyable stay. Staff were all courteous and couldn’t do enough for you. Would definitely stay there again. Thank you.

No Thankyou

Carpets throughout need ripping up
Room tiny
Staff lovely though and bathroom clean

It was very comfortable, but needs up grading, but there is no point as we understand it has been bought by Harry Rednap to turn it into flats. What a shame.

The hotel situated in the middle of Bournemouth. It doesn't have the lift, floors are creaking, room is clean but tired. In the room we have a small TV from 1980 era, this match the bathroom decor. There is kettle, to make your own coffee or tea and some biscuits which are the added bonus. The receptionist is a single man band, juggled queries alone, phone or walk in customers, which make it seems very rush in handling customers. The lady in the bar was very friendly. Overall, the hotel is tired and need a good clean throughly. The part that can be handled directly by the staff are clean but places like outside window, walls, conservatory's window are dirty. There is also free parking area. It is ok hotel.

This hotel should not be trading and hotels.com should not be selling rooms at this hotel. The hotel room was clean but the decor and furniture within was very dated and old. The hotel is not maintaining the building to an acceptable standard since the outside areas and windows were absolutely filthy dirty.

It’s a nice hotel located reasonably well you can get on the bus right near it. There is a shop around the corner et cetera. The only downside is the hotel is very dated which isn’t a problem but it just needs an uplift. The staff are very friendly but was disappointed when they told me that the hotel was sold and that is why it is been left to be running into the ground which is a shame, I’m guessing in Prime prime it was a lovely hotel . The pool is a very handy to use and the gym is nice as well

This place has seen better days, but it's clean and the room was spacious.

We liked the pool and the staff were lovely. But felt it could do with some fresh paint in places. Our room was Lovely. The hotel sign needs a good clean to..it let it down. Because its a wonderful place.

I had a lovely few nights stay at the Elstead Hotel....The staff were so friendly and helpful and made me feel very welcome. The hotel and staff have a cosy, family feel to it which made me feel very comfortable.
I have already recommended this hotel to my parents, who are looking to go to Bournemouth for a few nights and i would definitely stay here again...thank you for making my mini-break so lovely.

The room was really good and spacious.
Breakfast was ok.
The only down side was I was supposed to have a £10 drinks voucher available at the bar. Sadly the bar wasn’t open on both times I tried.

Simple ,clean hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. Nice 20 min walk on coast road into Bournemouth. Hotel let down by very dated decor. Pine furniture and decor from the 80,or 90,s. In need of a modern overhaul
2.5
The hotel is a little worn visually and a throw back to the 80s, but impeccably clean, with comfortable beds and faultless service. Would highly recommend.

I thought the hotel needed some refurbishment but the room was clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and made my stay very enjoyable.

Fairly good location bit of a walk to the beach but do able.
Needs a refurbishment outside really but clean inside.

The two ladies working on reception obviously didn’t want to be there, not very friendly at all. All other hotel staff were really nice. Breakfast was the most enjoyable part of our stay. We enjoyed using the lovely pool.
The Elstead is looking very tired and needs a massive input of money to get it back to how it used to be.

Everything was fine. The hotel is close to the train station (2 minute amble) which has all the local bus stops outside. There's an Asda and Lidl on either side of the station and the main shopping strip (with restaurants and nightspots) is a five minute walk down the hill.
The only suggestion for improvement is to add some salad to the hot breakfast area, as sausages, bacon and scrambled eggs every day can be a bit dull.

Staff very helpful but the rooms are in need of a upgrade more in keeping with the 21st century

The property is too old and old bed cause back pain. Not a comfortable sleep.
Although there is no air conditioning in the room and too hot in this summer. We got a small table fan and its make sick in the morning.
