The service was amazing and the hotel is beautiful rooms were just fantastic

It was a very comfortable room and the service was great, however, the bathroom didn’t have its own heat and was a little cold. Also there was no hand soap in the bathroom.

AKA is always great, this is the first time I've stayed since the renovation and it was spectacular! They did a great job on the Reno and the staff is even more excellent than they were before.. Looking forward to our next stay!

Hotel AKA Back Bay was all that I could have asked for. The employees were friendly and attentive, and the decor was both modern and infused with a sense of history. I would definitely return when visiting Boston.

From the moment we pulled in, we were greeted by a friendly staff who took care of the car, bags and easy check-in. Totally renovated hotel in a great location. Rooms are super clean with great amenities. The restaurant and bar are located on the lower level with access to outdoor seating. I will not even think about staying anywhere else in the future and would highly recommend.

The bed was comfortable. The air/heat unit was rather noisy. There was little room in the bathroom to put out or store personal toiletries, there were no hooks in the bathroom on which to hang wet towels or a bathrobe, the coffee machine didn’t work. Overall, it was fine for the two days I was there. Good location. Regarding the fees, there were way too many and the valet parking fee per night was outrageous.

Excellent property, very spacious room which was recently renovated. People were very nice. Loved the location and the proximity to everything. I would come back and stay in the same hotel when I come again.

Nice place, conveniently located for a short trip to Boston.

My husband and I stayed at AKA Back Bay for 3 nights from Oct 16 - Oct 19, 2024.
There were road works on the street where our room faced (Room 732) that persisted till 10 pm on all 3 days but was the worst on Fri when it continued on till 11 pm, with intermittent jack hammering!
We had activities booked for Thurs, Fri and Sat that started early each morning, which meant we had to turn in early each night before.
The road works unfortunately made our sleep quality poor on all 3 nights.
We are aware that this is an old hotel and is still undergoing renovations. Our room was supposedly a renovated room but it appears that the windows have not been - they are thin and definitely not sound-proof.
Regrettably, it wasn't a good experience for us at AKA Back Bay.

This is our favorite hotel in Boston. Close to everything including a 5 min walk from Amtrak. It was recently remodeled and so is more expensive than it used to be. They have a wonderful restaurant with outdoor dining, the valets are super helpful and friendly, and they are 3 blocks from the Public Garden and Boston Common. Not to mention 3 blocks from the fun of Newbury St. Need I say more?!

This boutique hotel is in a good location, walkable, and close to transportation. The staff is friendly and welcoming. This used to be the Lowes hotel but it got a renovation and has a more sophisticated and subtle decor.
We stayed in the standard room with a king size bed for two night, and it was comfortable. The only complaint we had was a funny smell in the room which might have been from the carpet or air conditioner and our room did not get serviced during our stay. The manager did apologize when we checked out and tried to remedy the situation, which we appreciated.

We had issues with our tv and Nespresso machine, the staff was very friendly, responsive and fixed everything quickly. It’s a nice hotel, good location and the staff was absolutely fantastic! They made the entire experience delightful. Valet gentleman was awesome. I highly recommend this hotel.

It’s weird how some of the room is renovated and looks very nice but the bathrooms are still 30 years old.

The room is very simple and small, needs to be renovated. For this level of prices is unjustified

Underwhelming front desk presence. Such a simple question “ how was your stay?” was not asked. Attitude of non interest from front desk workers

Property was being renovated but did NOT receive any notice in advance. Entrance was not usable - yet no visible signage to use side entrance. Renovations limited access - and room next door (we were in 330) was either being renovated or used as staging for construction. Loud construction workers started at 6A this morning. Awoke to loud drilling noises (recorded the noise if want to hear) on our first morning there. No VIP amenities. If was told in advance, maybe my expectations would have been different. Was expecting luxury boutique hotel - and got decent, clean old (unrenovated) room and lots of construction noise.

The AKA Hotel Back Bay is a beautiful building in a great location. The rooms are very spacious the bathrooms are great. When we arrived we found out the main entrance is closed because they are remodeling it. The first morning we realized we could hear the noise of construction. The staff managed to find another room for us so we could have a nice stay

The hotel itself is being renovated so parts of it are still under construction. That is understandable. What I couldn’t understand were the renovated rooms. Cramped, ikea/college dorm looking furniture, poorly installed carpeting and the kicker for me are the untouched bathrooms. I’ve been staying here for at least 10 years and the bathrooms still look as dated and filthy as they did 10 years ago. The hallway carpets are from 10 years ago as well. Renovated the rooms horribly and did nothing to any other areas. Also, the bar/restaurant prices? $58 for steak frites. $44 for a lobster roll. I don’t know who made these mind blowing decisions but they made huge mistakes. Sadly, I will not be back.

Nice location....good for families

The location was great and the bed comfortable, which is all most people may care about. Everything else was just okay. The lobby was under construction, so you had to enter through the downstairs restaurant. It seemed some parts of the hotel may have been updated, but the bathroom I had in my room was very dated and worn. I was on the 4th floor back side of the building and the second night, I was kept awake for hours of dumpster pickup and noisy delivery/moving/construction. It was comfortable, but for over $550 a night, I was hoping for something a bit more special.

Over the hotel was nice and clean. The only negative was a one in the morning fire alarm malfunction, which made everyone get up and gather in the lobby while th Fire department figured out what was going on. Management did not address the issue or offer any kind of.compensation for the inconvenience.

Hotel is nice with up to date amenities. They do have many fees therefore the price was significantly higher than we had anticipated
