The hotel is very run down. No more breakfast or coffee downstairs. No cable!! Only streaming. It’s adequate and good location but needs to be updated.

Everything about the Hotel was wonderful. From the location to the staff and room comfort. Very highly reccomend and will return.

Bathroom toilet very dirty

The hotel is ALL about location and staff. The staff is amazing and very accommodating. My room and the bathroom have a good size. The hotel is outdated. You don’t have microwave in the rooms or in the premises of the hotel. The TV was not a problem for us we had Netflix. BUT considering the prices they could offer better towels and coffee. The heater was a little noisy but didn’t impacted on our sleep. The neighbors closing doors made much more noise. I would not say that I am not staying there again but before that happen I would explore other options.

Reserved accessible room. Had to move twice to find one. Toilet seat broken—fixed with scotch tape. Chairs filthy. Other furniture broken. No tissues or toiletries. Had to fight for anything. Front desk was nasty when I checked out after one night and said they were paid by Expedia so they didn’t care.

The condition is run down. The room has pipe noise at night and it is not comfortable to sleep. The location is not bad but the room def need more attention. I will rate 2 star max

Good location, good price, and good room overall. I would stay there again.

First room they gave us had a broken bed. They changed rooms and the new one the tv didn't work. Next day when they cleaned the room they left us with no towels. I requested towels at around 6pm at the front desk, got a knock at the door at 11:30pm when we were already in bed. Staff was generally nice but hotel needs some work

This is definitely not a 4 star hotel. It’s barely a 3 star hotel. The rooms are run down and a bit funky. I requested a room with a bathtub and did t get it. The pillows smelled like other people’s odor. It needs an overhaul.
The staff is pretty kind but unable or unwilling to be accommodating. The room was clean and so was the bathroom. Thy don’t offer breakfast. A no frills place and I would not stay here again.

It was a good basic hotel.

Overall a pleasant stay. Reception staff are not the friendliest and tend to put people of colour on the lower floors in the hotel.

Great location but an old hotel

Great value, excellent location.

The property was at a good location but definitely had a worn feel to it. The furnishings in the room had chips and big scratchs in the headboard and bed. The couch/futon had some staining. The bed was too soft for me but that may be a personal preference.

The rooms were very clean and the bed was awesome, overall it was a great stay

We had a quick overnight stay, a Sunday to Monday, to visit a sick relative. The room was comfortable and reasonable, since there were 3 of us. We booked a Jr, which had a King bed, and a convertible sofa, which was perfect for our daughter. We did see that breakfast was provided, when booking, but then read the reviews Sunday night stating that information was outdated. So, I was a little more prepared to not have breakfast. The reviews also stated that unfriendly service, but we did not experience that at all. We used Bell Captain, since we arrived early. The front desk and bell captain were very friendly and helpful with helping us find a bite to eat. The person who made up the day bed was super friendly. And when we checked out, everyone was great, then, too.
We were happy with our stay.

Everyone was nice; room was fine. The water was brown even after running it for over 20 minutes (way worse at the beginning). They said it was momentary from work they had done that morning and just to run the water but, it was brown two days in a row. The photo shows the third bath I tried to run after letting the water run for over 20 minutes. Pipes need some serious upgrading.

Sheets has hole, only storage for clothes was night stand, no coffee maker yet supplies were there for coffee, light on headboard hanging out by wire, tv not working, no body wash in shower only soap small face soap

You get what you pay for. Good location.

Hotel 57 in New York has a great Midtown location and stylish décor, but the rooms show signs of age. The washroom door lock was difficult to use, and some construction feels dated, though the staff is helpful.

"Lounge is Close". This was the sign off the tiny lobby. It meant "closed" of course, but it could have included "but no cigar" on the sign. While the bed was quite comfortable, there were some things that should cost this operation a star or two. There was no water or cups in the room and the odd faucet prevented even getting water from the tap into anything but your hands. The hotel should include 2 free bottles. I did not find the two tiny soap bar-wafers until I was checking out. The clock was the old fashioned plug in kind and had the wrong time. Probably better left unplugged. There was no TV in any real sense. Only 2 items were available: Netflix which required your personal sign-in and You Tube which wanted you to sign in but did do some things - - in a glitchy way. Don't say you have TV if you don't. The only food available was from a single vending machine in the lobby that you had to stoop over (or be on your knees) to use. Too bad the Lounge was Close. Finally, I think I paid a "resort fee" - - this is a universal and dishonest add-on that all the hotels use. However, at this property the fiction behind the resort fee was tragi-comic. What facility or amenity was I given access to? So, for what it offered, this site was not a good value and I will not be back again.

Can you imagine a hotel in Manhattan that doesn’t offer TV? This is the place. Yes, not even a basic offering. A TV in the room but the hotel hasn’t subscribed to any channel offerings. Pretty incredible. Basically, no amenities in this hotel.

Stay was good

The hotel was basic. The room was tight but comfortable as they tend to be in New York. Was happy they provided daily housekeeping as many hotels don’t these days. The bed was king size and comfortable with ample outlets on both sides - also something you don’t see everywhere these days. Big problem was no hot water in the shower, which is why the overall rating is lower.

Hotel 57 staff provides excellent service that’s personalized for each guest😀it was a pleasure to stay in this property!

Good room. No breakfast and no TV. You could only use Netflix if you are subscribed so we could not watch any US Open matches. Close to many places you want to go to.
6.0
Despite the listing, the only TV services are streaming using your own subscriptions. At check-in, they provide an information sheet that indicates that local channels are not available on the TV. All that we could find on the TV was the ability to log into our own streaming service; none is provided with the TV.

Everything went on schedule, but I was surprised to find that I was billed a second time by the front desk even though I had paid the bill ahead of time on a 3rd party site. Good news: the front office manager fixed the issue and refunded the duplicate payment quickly!

Everything was really good except for when I was checking in the person went from really nice to really rude and I felt totally uncomfortable. I will not be staying at this property again and yes I checked in late at about 11 PM. Maybe that had something to do with it.It was very creepy

The hotel was very convenient with a range of eateries nearby. The roof 'garden' was a terrace but with spectacular views, especially at night, down Lexington Ave towards the Chrysler building. As regards the room the bathroom was fine but the bedroom itself looked 'tired' and could do with a refurbishment.
However for the price, the roof views and its location it suited us on this occasion.

Check in was a bit clunky and after the 4pm stated time, but other than that staff was fantastic and the room was great. Bed was a double rather than a queen, and there was construction about 4" away from our window at 7am haha, but hey it's New York City baby!
