Great Apartment !!
loved staying here. the owners where very responsive to request. Could not ask for a better location and neighborhood and made many friends. The 320 steps that you have to walk to the unit a day got me in really good shape. Great
neighbors. Needs a little TLC, new lightbulbs and furniture. if you have a dog just be aware that its a 5th floor walkup.

Great UWS stay!
We had a great week staying in Dov's UWS apartment. The location is spectacular-- one block off the park in a beautiful neighborhood. Our dog so enjoyed meeting and playing with the other UWS pups.
It was also very convenient to hop on the subway and get around the city. The apt is clean and as described, in an older building.
Only downside-- the apartment is a 5th floor walk up, so be prepared to get your steps in every day.

Upper West Side Locale
Great location! Building is older and apartment needs a refresh- painting and cleaning. Serviceable but beware the stairs.

Trip to NYC
First time trip for myself, husband and our grown up son. The apartment ticked lots of boxes for us. Gave us a chance to stay away from the hustle and bustle and see NYC from a local’s perspective, but also gave us a bit more room to chill together that we wouldn’t have got from staying in a hotel without forking out huge amounts for a suite.
The apartment is a short walk from Central Park and one of the main subway routes that takes you into the central tourist areas, also the route to JFK air train.
Shops and bars located at other end of the road too.
Downside - the stairs up to the apartment need to be mentioned as if you have any mobility issues then this is not for you. Having said that, at least you can eat as many cannolis as you want as you will burn them off with the “stair master” workout!
The building is an older block so expect some of the quirks and faults that come with an ageing property.
The owner Dov replied really quickly to any messages I sent so can’t fault the communication at all.
All in all a great little place to stay whilst exploring NYC.

Super Location For Value Minded NYC Explorers
Four flights of stairs in a somewhat scruffy but otherwise fine building takes you to a quiet, nice sized 1 BR apartment in a super Upper West Side location just a block from the C Line subway. Good bed, funky furniture but a good 4 person dining table and full fridge deliver the basic VRBO advantage over hotels. Gas range has no fan, so cooking options are limited. Small irritations like no paper towells, broken window shades, an old awkward bathtub and missing light bulbs are offset by a good TV, new shower valve with good pressure and nice towells. In short, a more than adequate spot that saves you the equivalent of four or five dinners out on the town compared to hotels in that area. Manager was responsive to our few requests to address issues. We laughed off the stairs — others might not be in shape for them or find them amusing. Don’t bring a heavy suitcase. Would stay here again.

Great location in Upper West Side
Location, location, location !!!
We really loved our stay at Dov's place. It is just 50 meters from central park and with a lot of shops and restaurants very close.
86 West metro station is just at the the corner, so we got fast everywhere.
The apartment is on the fourth floor of a historic townhouse, so be prepared to walk some steps. I was clean and had AC which was great during the summer heat in NYC.
Dov was super helpful. We forgot our ebook readers and he was so kind to send them home to us. Thanks :-)

Can't beat the location
Make sure you can walk 4 flights of stairs (it's on the 5th floor). The apartment floor is slanted in the kitchen area, and the whole building is a bit crooked, especially the stairs, but felt solid. We stayed in August and the A/C worked great.
You might verify with the property owner in advance that all the things you usually expect to find in a rental will be available. The apartment was not fully ready for our arrival. The toilet was dirty. There was a drop of dish soap, only one roll of toilet paper (the 4 of us stayed 9 nights), one dirty dish rag, no paper towels, a coffee maker with no pot, exactly 4 bath towels. There was also just a drop of shampoo left in the bathroom cabinet. We ended up going out to purchase what we needed right away. We alerted the owner via text message who was very responsive, he apologized and offered to send the cleaning person again to clean and bring us what we were missing but we declined, except for the coffee pot which was delivered the next day.
The location of this apartment is very good. Very close to the subway, restaurants, grocery stores, laundromat, and to Central Park.

Wonderful month in NYC!
I would highly recommend this apartment as long as you are okay with walking four flights of stairs and in good shape. I actually preferred being on the fifth floor because I felt safer as a family with children staying here. The location could not have been better 1/2 block down from two major subway lines. My family (and dog) loved being across from Central Park. There are tons of restaurants/coffee shops around the corner to explore. The building itself was really quiet and I felt comfortable walking on the streets and taking my dog out late into the evening. The apartment itself was clean and just as described. I actually thought it felt a little bigger than the pictures. My children (9 and 12) slept on the pull-out couch for a month and were very comfortable. Thanks Dov for an awesome experience!

Fabulous Apt for Exploring NYC
We stayed at Dov’s apartment for a full week, exploring NYC with son and wife on Spring Break. The apartment is perfectly located next to Central Park and subway station, within walking distance to the museum mile. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, the apartment is clean and well equipped. Sure it’s not your luxury home or 5 star hotel but it’s reflected in the price - it’s a steal! Dov has been very responsive and provided precise instructions well in advance. He allowed us to check in early on our day of arrival so that we can spend an entire afternoon at a museum, thanks, Dov, and see you next time!

Loved it!
This was our first time in New York, loved it, loved it!!! The apartment is very clean. Everything we needed was available. Mr. Dov Bonner was always available when reached out to. Have no complaints. We are leaving content and definitely coming back.

Light, quiet, great UWS location
The apartment is light, spacious, quiet, and located in the heart of the Upper West Side. We have stayed there twice. Dov, the property manager, responds quickly to any issue.

Very good apartment in the perfect location
Our stay for a month was fabulous. The location of the apartment was perfect. Close to Central Park, and two different subway lines. The area has a lot of stores restaurants to chose from. The apartment was great and more then met our needs for the month. We had no issues issues during our stay. Dov communicated with us prior to our stay which made the check in process simple. It does have five flight of stairs which we knew before hand so if climbing stairs is a problem then this might be a problem. We look forward to staying there again soon.

Great location. Nice and clean!!
Cute, cozy Upper West side apartment near everything! Very comfortable. The 4 flights of stairs get old, so you have to plan your day to do this only once if you can. It’s particularly hard with suitcases. Otherwise, no big conplaints. I’d stay there again!

Great apartment, great location
Very well appointed, quiet, comfortable bed, safe, roomy, Dov quick to respond to any queries, very close to Central Park and The Met, Natural History Museum, subway system. Get a multi day metro card. Good supermarkets on broadway.

Perfect location
Adequate apartment with outstanding location. The 4 flights of stairs was an excellent way to work off some of the calories consumed at the wonderful restaurants nearby. The proximity to Central Park was a super bonus!

Beautiful, clean, comfortable, great location.
I stayed here with my husband and 12 y/o son for 1 week. It was a great home base for our week of adventures and sight seeing in NYC. Clean, comfortable, spacious, and perfect location. Thank you!

Location is perfect for access to Central Park, West Riverfront walkway and park, restaurants.
The apartment was perfect for our stay. It was clean and comfortable. We made use of the kitchen to keep from eating out all the time. The proximity to Central and Riverfront Parks was perfect for walking, dog walking, biking, and jogging. Subway was right on the corner providing access to Times Square and the theater district. Had an amazing time here!

Great location
We had a very good stay here. The main room is very large and has a good sofa. The kitchen is well stocked and there was even some coffee! The location is fantastic. We could hop on the subway at 88th (86th street station) on both B and C lines. This place especially benefits from being so near Central Park. We had a lot of good walks and crossed over to the museums. Towels, sheets, hairdryer -- all good. The only negative, and it wasn't for us, is that it is a 5th floor walk up. By the end of a long day, it seems like a mountain! But, as my sweet partner said, it allowed us to eat more strudel. About the heat -- New York apartments cannot individually control the heat and for us it felt much too hot. Air conditioning in fall/winter somehow seems wrong, yet we used it! Wonderful place.

GREAT LOCATION, GREAT PRICE, BOOK IN ADVANCE
We booked Dov's apartment based on location and price, almost a year in advance. And it was totally worth it. This small apartment is in New Yorks Upper West Side and is less than 2 blocks from anything and everything. The subway, restaurants, deli's, Starbucks, literally anything you need.
The apartment is a traditional walk-up (NO ELEVATOR) 4 flights of stairs; it's on the 5th (top) floor of the building. Which is fine if your in fairly good shape. Our only problem was we would leave at 8am and not come back until 9-11p, exhausted from touristing and going up those stairs was the last thing we wanted to do after walking around the city all day. But we survived. The apartment and the neighborhood are very safe and quiet. We never worried about walking from the subway to the apartment late at night with a 10 year old.
Second, I was a little disappointed in the apartment overall. When you think of the Upper West Side area, you think it's going to be really nice. Maybe old, but nice. It was ok. When we pulled up to the building I thought, this doesn't look very nice. It's the most non-description building on the block. Kind of ugly and run-down looking really. Also, the apartment itself could use some small updates that would make it 5 stars. All the linens (of which there are very few, towels, sheets, etc.) are very old, thread bare and stained. The sofa bed is horrible to sleep on. I'd bring or get an air mattress. The sheets provided for the sofa bed barely pass as sheets they are so thin. Also, the air conditioner in the bedroom made a horrible thumping sound every 5-10 mins which would wake us up a lot. It kept the room cool so we didn't call Dov, but it was very annoying. The place could use a fresh coat of paint also.
While I do have these few complaints, overall, the location, size and price still make it worth overlooking these details. If I were Dov, I would get all new linens and a new mattress for the sofa bed, then it would be a solid 5 stars.

We went to NYC on vacations and stayed in the apartment for 10 days. We enjoyed very much staying there. Charming, cozy, luminous, just what you see in the pictures. We felt at home. Great location, in a quiet residential street in the upper west side, but just half a block away from Colombus Av and two from Amsterdam Av, where you can find shops, supermarkets and restaurants. Half a block away from subway (lines B and C) and from the bus stops (line 7, which takes you literally everywhere!). One only problem: 5th floor, no elevator. Getting up and down with the luggage was a nightmare!

We live kn the east village of New York and needed a place to stay while we printed our home. We found this home perfect for our needs. Charming, chic, cosy and light filled. Even the walk up reminded me of my apartment in Paris. It's a true Pied a Terre in New York City. We didn't want to leave!

This is a very comfortable, well equipped , quiet and light filled apartment in an excellent Upper West Side location. It was perfect for a two week stay. The owner, Dov, was extremely helpful and supplied an excellent new mattress for the sofa bed in the living room. The other bed was very comfortable as well.

Lovely apartment and great location. The photos don't do it justice. Really well equipped and very comfortable. Dov, the owner, coudn't have been more helpful and I'd happly recommend this apartment to anyone, as long as they don't mind stairs ! The apartment's on the 5th floor, and it's what New Yorkers call a walk-up. No lift. If you pace yourself, and don't try to sprint up in one go, it's OK.
Shops and restaurants are all a few minutes walk away, The 86th St Subway station is at the bottom of the road (I couldn't work that out either) and will take you right into the hustle and bustle of midtown. Central Park is just across the road, too.
We had a great time, and we'll be back soon.

Location: Conveniently located on the upper West Side about 50 metres from Central Park. Subway station is on the corner so getting anywhere in Manhattan is quick and easy. Short walk to restaurants on Columbus Ave and Amsterdam Ave. As a vegan I was spoiled for choice. For you omnivores, don't miss the Barney Greegrass Deli/restaurant on Amsterdam. Museum mile is just a short walk across the park.
Apartment: As shown in the photos - no wait, better. This is a quiet, light filled apartment with a spacious feel. Immaculately clean. The kitchen has good quality tableware and cutlery, but could use a few more cooking implements. We were there in late November - the heating was kept at a comfortable level at all times of day (our previous NYC apartment had the heating off during the day and blasted up high from 10 pm to 6 am!). Excellent water pressure and lots of hot water, you just have to run the tap for a while for the hot water to get up to the 5th floor. The queen size bed was very comfortable with good quality linen. The convertible couch bed was of the springey-with-a-thin-foam-mattress variety and was not comfortable to sleep on. My sister was travelling with my husband and I and she opted to sleep on the couch without extending the bed. She is quite small and found that to be very comfortable. I don't think the fold-out would be suitable for a couple to sleep on. The couch is very comfortable to sit on. It was nice to have a dining table and a separate desk/table for using the laptop and generally putting stuff on. Be warned, this is a walk up, so if you can't do stairs this is not the place for you. For the rest, you'll be amazed how quickly you get "stair fit". Very friendly neighbours in the adjacent apartment and in the building in general.
Dov was helpful and quick to answer the phone and respond to all enquiries and requests. Having a landline phone in the apartment was helpful for getting in touch with Dov especially as being from Australia it was prohibitively expensive to use our mobile phones and as the calls were rerouted via Australia it was difficult to hear and be heard.
Overall: wonderful experience, would recommend it to anyone looking to stay on the upper West Side.

Apartment was very close to finish line and over all in a convenient location with 2 minutes to subway at 86th Street. A small folder with 'How To' information would have been a good thing to have - a small list of restaurants, shops etc for out-of town people. Not ideal for people with problems taking stairs as in the 5th floor.
Overall I will recommend the apartment and certainly look into it if and when next visiting the Big Apple

My husband and I and our children (ages 9 and 11) had a wonderful six night stay stay at Dov's apartment. Dov was responsive, friendly, and easy to deal with. The apartment was very clean and had spacious closets. The bedroom was very comfortable. We were appreciative of the two air conditioners as it was warm during our visit. It was a very convenient location on a nice, residential street. We appreciated the Wi-Fi. We liked the large skylight in the bathroom. We loved being so close to a subway stop and Central Park and everything you need on Columbus. There were no surprises. Other reviews had mentioned the uncomfortable sofabed and we concur. Our children didn't really notice how uncomfortable it was, but in a year or two, we're sure they would. It certainly would not be comfortable to most adults, we guess. Also, the couch came with no sleeping pillows, just decorative ones. If Dov could improve the comfort of this sleeping space we would give 5 stars. We did notice a twin inflatable mattress in the closet and would have used it but there were no linens, blankets, or pillow provided with it. Be prepared for the many stairs; we knew about them but still were left panting after each ascent. The stairs are slightly uneven so you need to watch your step. Bathroom and kitchen sink faucets were a little loose but functional. There was no toilet paper holder. I would definitely recommend this apartment especially for singles, a couple, or a couple with children under 12.

I had a great time in New York, and this condo was centrally located to just about everywhere I wanted to be for my stay. Definitely like the area near Central Park West, and the fact that there were subways near. The only downfall was the 5 story trek to the condo, but other than that, couldn't have been more pleased. The price was right, and I'd definitely stay again.
