NOT really All-Inclusive!!!
Bad Enough that hotel charges $3.00/day for wifi. They don't tell you it is $3 per device! One laptop & 2 phones - $9/day.
$3/day to use the safe!!! Who charges for a safe. BullS***
Only Dominican made liquors are included.
Food is typical buffet mundane.
You might pay more, but go to a REAL all-inclusive.

My stay was ok. For the price I paid, I would say I got my moneys worth. The resort was nice but the restraunt options vary each day and you have to make reservations. Each time I went to make reservations, the lady was not there. When I went back there were no more reservation times. Also, when my boyfriend was not feeling good, I was told we could not take the food back to the room. They said only I could make him a plate, have the workers wrap it up and deliver it to the room. I could not have my own to go plate to eat with him because I was not sick. Aside from that experience, they stay was ok. We enjoyed the pool and the lounge chairs at the beach. Food was mediocore, some things were good, some things were bad. 5.5/10 for the food.

The service was great. The massage amazing. The hotel is old and run down. Looks nothing like the pictures. The food at the beach bar made my husband and I sick. We literally threw up all our food we ate there. Alcohol is not top shelf, so that made us sick as well. I would not recommend this place. The security level is low. Anyone can come in that place like nothing.

A comfortable and cozy hidden gem. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Not overcrowded like other locations

This is my third trip to BlueBay in Puerto Plata. My partner and I returned after 12 years because we had such a great experience on our honeymoon. This time, the attentiveness of the housekeeping, front desk, food service, and bar service staff remained outstanding. We were disappointed in the activity options and the activity/entertainment team's ability to pivot during nighttime activities. They were unsuccessful getting couples to participate in a game one evening and just played music when no one volunteered. The second night they attempted a couples game, they did recover.
I was accustomed to the staff really getting people involved, even if they came up to you and encouraged you to participate. The staff did not seem as equipped as previous teams to do that effectively.
Otherwise, I had a relaxing vacation. I also appreciated that no one tried to sell us a timeshare like they did 12 years ago. The only people approaching us wanted to help and encouraged us to take advantage of the Spa, which we did and thoroughly enjoyed.

The only thing I did not like was that it was a flying birth around the buffet area eating the food.
3.7
The food was overrated due to certain food were pricy for no reason and they wasn’t much to it

Food was not the great. Please was quiet.

I never had to complain about a hotel . These pictures have a lot of filters on them you would think that this hotel is next to luxury . The bathroom looks old like a motel bathroom . The rooms are dull . The balcony is ancient. Trust me I travel every 3 months . This place looks nothing like the pics . The food is horrible !! And the staff is only nice on the over night shift . Wasn’t a welcoming place and next time go to DR . I will get a luxury airbnb

The food very poor and disgusting

Went to dinner and there was fruit flies around the salad bar, and ants in the white rice. I had to record it to show management. The room look like a motel and that’s been nice about it. The bathtub/shower water clogged up every shower we took. Food was horrible the beef taste like rubber, just had a bad experience at this resort.

I returned to Blue Bay because I was very satisfied back in October. Please note that all of the employees were hospitable, professional, and well trained. However, it appeared that they were not fully staff. The rooms were not thoroughly clean, and the lock was broken in the first room we were assigned.
We were then assigned to a second room that had issues with the hot water. In addition, it is not necessarily all inclusive because wifi and lockbox had additional daily rate.

Extremely dated
Food sucked
Staff was awesome
The workers made up for the low accommodation

No a la carte restaurant available for 1 night stay reservation, that’s unfair and a Mediocre costumer service. Everything is outdated in the room. Bathroom with leaks in the cealing. Same food served everyday in the buffet restaurant. Poor food variety. Poor entertainment. Lot of very noisy low class people with bad habits.
I don't recommend it even for one night stay!!

Everything was good. The A/C in the room was really cold. Good food and a beautiful beach. All I needed.
3.7
The room was good, location is good, food was very good, and the service is excelent

Both the clientele and staff were low key…perfect for relaxing

I liked that this resort was small & had food and drinks 24 hours. The beach was very peaceful. For the most part the staff was very nice & approachable. Our first night out ac did not work. We spoke to someone the next day and it was fixed. The food selection was not the best. There wasn’t a lot to choose from & the food wasn’t too tasty.
3.7
Trully someone needs to evaluate this resort. The conditions and service offered is not from a “elegant/lucury resort” as how they are label. The food was beyond terrible, taste and the items offered. Restaurants we were able to book 1 and one was done by guest services due to the complaint. The people itself were great, we were able to connect with several staff members who are great human beings and helped us. The entire property is in desperate need of an upgrade starting with bedrooms which mine had many issues, the towel rack barely holing on to the wall, the sink coming off the appliances in room also coming off wall. The property is label smoke free and there was a lot of people smocking cigars and vaping everywhere.

Great place to stay

I feel bad this list is so long, but I don’t want people wasting money here. If you don’t like birds eating off of the same buffet you are, car-salesman ambush tactics, and bottom shelf alcohol, you can skip BlueBay unless you just want more details about our crappy experience.
Birds were in the dining hall eating off of the buffet. Stuff all around the resort wearing out. Example, the dining area which can seat a couple hundred people has one toaster at breakfast that is 20 years old. It only works on one side so after 5 mins of toasting one side of your bread, you have to flip it around for another 5 mins. In our room, the phone didn’t hook up to anything. It sat on the end table with the cable on the floor. There was no wall jack to plug it in to so there was no way to call the front desk.
The Food quality is mediocre at best. It does not have 4 restaurants as advertised, It has buffet and one restaurant that rotates every night from oriental, Mexican, Italian, and seafood. At the reservation restaurant it is $20 more for steak and $50 for lobster. Otherwise, the food is exactly the same as the buffet, just on a misspelled menu and served to you by a waiter.
I’d written more but limited to 1500 characters. So here’s the rest: high pressure time share sales, untrained bartenders, bottom shelf alcohol, hotel vendors soliciting you on the beach, inconvenient bar locations, only diet soda and Presidente beer available, all juice from syrup concentrate and not fresh squeeze

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful resort and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations! The attention to detail from the moment I arrived was impeccable - the staff went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction throughout my stay. The food was absolutely delicious, with a wide variety of options to choose from, and the service was great.
What truly stood out to me was how friendly and welcoming the people at the resort were. From the moment I checked in to the moment I left, I was greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. It truly made my stay memorable and I can't wait to come back again in the future.
Overall, I highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway. You won't be disappointed!"

The hotel is not honest and up to date as it shows. The main lobby and and area are decent however the rooms are not and the bathrooms aren't kept as clean as they should.

The staff were remarkable and made us feel very welcome and cared about. We especially appreciated the activities staff who all work very hard to set up and run events throughout the day and night and make people feel included and comfortable. Also the cooks and dining staff were amazing especially wanted to recognize Elvin and Yajaira. The food was great, vegetarian and vegan options were good but some more protein could be added. Would’ve appreciated more gluten free replacements for gluten items. The front desk and guest services staff were very kind and helpful. The bartenders were great. We didn’t use housekeeping for much while there but the grounds were kept as clean as much as they can keep up with the guests who don’t clean up after themselves. We would definitely return here for the beauty, feeing well-cared for, and most of all for the amazing staff.
