As many reviews have mentioned, this is an older motel. The furniture and decor are outdated. But it was comfortable and had a good price point. The receptionist was fabulous.

We had the clerk show us about 9 rooms and finally settled. Booked 3 nights because we were going to be in the area that long. All the rooms smelled of mold or mildew. The one we stayed at was the least smell but still smelled. Kind of scary with no one on staff after 9 or 10 when clerk went home. Stayed 2 nights and tried to cancel last night and they wouldn’t. Told me to contact Expedia and sent virtual message chat to see if we could get our money back and the chat said one moment and it never came back to give me and answer. But we left after 2 nights. Also booked it with a Discover card for the 3 nights and got to the hotel and she said they don’t take Discover. That should have popped up during our initial booking, would have saved us lots of grief and our money. The hotel looks nothing like the tranquil pictures you see online. We paid extra for Mountain View which was only a hill, not what we pictured. Also there were these little bugs we would see crawling around on top of the carpeted baseboards.

I liked that it was in the center of most activities . Our room smelled too much of mildew. Bad for people with asthma.

Great place with a view of Mt. Rushmore!

Convenient location
4.0
Very good location, we could see Mt Rushmore from our room door. Close to food, gas, shops. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Staff friendly at check-in. Fat Sam's restaurant within walking distance had a very good breakfast buffet. The front office is not there all night and they do not have room service, but they do specify you can get fresh towels at the front desk during office hours. Ice machine is outside and didn't work for a little bit, but they got it fixed within a reasonable matter of time. TV only had a few channels available, but that was OK for us since we spent most of our time exploring. Great location and close to Mt Rushmore. Also saw Custer State Park, Crazy Horse Memorial and Black Hills National Forest. Overall a very good place to stay

Front desk ladies were great! Hotel is old. Needs thorough cleaning. Window broken out in the bathroom. No coffee pot as stated in hotel info or continental breakfast. Fresh towels/sheets once for a 5 night stay due to hotel at or nearly at capacity. Had to empty our own trash. It was central to a lot of sightseeing places.

It was a nice quiet place, enjoyed seeing the mule deer walking around the area. Within walking distance to downtown

The stay was nice but you messed up on the date and wouldn’t refund me for your mistake so I had to pay double. The hotel was very accommodating and tried to help me. Gave me a room for lower cost.

Good service

Our room had a cool view of mt Rushmore and is in a convenient location for many things. Thats the only thing good. They have a ladder beetle problem. They are everywhere, I probably killed 30 and there was many dead on the ceiling of the elevator. Beds are hard, only 6 channels, weak wifi. Would not recommend.

Grand Rushmore View is a Older Hotel there is no Cable TV just a few Over the Air Stations. WIFI is not good due to the surrounding Mountains and the Hotel does not have WIFI/Cable. For a couple night's stay it serves the purpose and the Hotel Staff was very nice.

It is a clean motel, very convenient for the Mount Rushmore Memorial, and a nice place to stay.

My friend and I had to change rooms 3 times because there was no microwave in the room. We are seniors, so lugging bags and items from room to room was a pain. We had originally asked for a ground floor on our reservation but were denied. I scrutinize photos for amenities. The photos clearly showed a coffee pot, refrigerator and microwave in the room. It was also listed on the amenities page. We were ultimately the given a ground floor because it had a microwave it. They told us coffee makers in the room were a liability, so a centrally located one in the office was the one we had to use. No breakfast, just coffee.

Did find gloves (clean) in one of the beds. This property looks like it was once the biggest and best of Keystone, but a filled in pool and age shows otherwise now. Was good and clean and reasonable, but nothing spectacular. Good location. You can see three of the four presidents on the mountain. Sorry Teddy!

It's an older establishment. The bed was good, clean, could be updated but was fine for us for a 1 night stay.

Excellent views of the mountains, rooms were clean, staff went above and beyond for us. Walking distance from shopping and dining. A perfect stay.

The staff was the best calling to communicate and give instructions where to find my keys since I was going to arrive late night. I just did not like the beds make a lot of a squeaky noise.
I would recommend as a one night stay, is very close to Mound Rushmore
