The room was kinda thrown together very fast after some updates. I guess. There was two toned paint in the walls. White paint all over the full length mirror on the bathroom door. Bathroom door jam was nasty. Lamps looked pretty old. Stains on the chair. And the toilet didn’t flush very well. We had to constantly use the plunger.

Room was set up nicely. Bathroom was just way too small to be handicap accessible. Shower floor was filthy. Has a oily grimy feel to it.

First room was not ready... Changed rooms..the front desk staff person was awesome... Very kind gentleman!! The pool area looks like it hasn't been touched in weeks and is in total shambles. Need to finish that because it makes the morel look really bad

They were updating the property so it was in a state of flux. The staff was courteous and respectful. Bathroom was a little small but meet our needs.

Because it had a pool I booked this hotel. The pool was closed. It did not say that on the the website. I had two very disappointed children.

Clean room.
Bed was 3 inches lower on one side, not comftorable.
Maintenance of sink was lacking, drain plug could not be removed so water would drain. TV remote did not work.
Good location

Although the location is pretty good, service was nice, and providing somewhat of a breakfast was a positive, that is it.
The smells that came from the bathroom were very unpleasant, updates are definitely needed, and it would have been wonderful if the pool was in service, but I guess you can’t win them all; you definitely get what you pay for in this type of atmosphere.

The staff was very kind, and friendly. I booked a non-smoking room. When first entering the room, there was a faint cigarette smoke odor. A little while later, the room started smelling like smoke, pretty strongly. I noticed it seemed to be coming in from the outside, from the air-conditioner. I called the front desk, to let them know, because I do not smoke, and I did not want to be charged a fee for the room smelling like smoke. A staff member came to my room to see what I was talking about, and she said she smelled it also. at first I thought somebody was probably smoking right outside of my door, but I never saw anybody doing so. I then noticed they have a designated smoking area outside, which was across from my room. every time I would notice the smoke getting bad again, I would look out and see that people were out there smoking in that area. I'm assuming the smoke is drawn in from the air conditioning unit. It made it very hard to sleep, and I ended up having to sleep in the bed furthest from the air conditioning unit, because my sinuses were getting extremely irritated, as well as getting a sore throat from the smoke. I ultimately had to sleep on my side, facing away from the air-conditioner. I'm not sure where the smoking rooms are on the property, but I definitely feel that the non-smoking rooms should be on the other side of the property, away from the designated smoking area. I woke up very unrested, with my sinuses and throat feeling very irritated.

I booked a two night stay at this hotel and I was not impressed. There was rust in the bathroom tub, some white stuff all of the chair, curtains, carpet. There was no cover on the outlets. The lights didn’t work, refrigerator had an awful smell. We stayed 1 night and my husband woke up unable to move due to the bed being terrible. We went to the front desk and advised that we would not be staying for another night and asked for a refund. The manager Nikki told us that since we booked it through a 3rd party we had to contact them. We contacted our 3rd party who advised that the hotel had to be reached to notify of the refund request and approve it. They tried multiple times to reach the hotel and every time she would answer and hang up. They even asked us to go to the front desk and let them know about the call. While standing there she answered the call, said that she had to place them on hold and hung up on them. We checked out that morning and the company advised that they would escalate the matter and try to contact them. 5 days later and they contacted me to say that unfortunately they couldn’t be reached and therefore no refund would be granted. Awful customer service, would not recommend this place to anyone. If you’re staying in Helen, stay somewhere else.

Pool was not available, room we had assigned first we could open without a key. Staff was friendly location was good, but wouldn’t recommend unless they do a better job at cleaning and updating their rooms

The staff was nice but the room was pretty dumpy and didn’t look or feel very clean. The property was in the middle of some kind of construction. It worked for our purposes and might consider again but am not sure. Would have to be priced well or I would probably check out different options.

Conveinent and nice peple ther to deal with. Could be cleaner, there wad mold on the OJ pitcher...

There was nowhere to put towels in the bathroom, someone had evidently ripped the rack off the wall so there were holes in the wall and there was no hair dryer. The room was clean I assume BUT it smelled STRONGLY of cleaning products. Be careful walking up the stairs because they are painted and slick when it rains. The staff was very nice though!

This place is in an excellent location for the price. It is run down and the furniture is in rough shape but the sheets were clean and surprisingly silky and I slept well. There is free breakfast and the coffee is also surprisingly good. This is a place to just put your head down for the night and and get going early the next morning. Great for a one night stay.

Nice enough place with nice staff. Construction in parking lot was not helpful.

Every employee we encountered was so friendly and helpful. The bathroom has recently been remodeled and beds were okay (just a matter of preference) it's no frills for sure but it worked for our stay.

I've stayed at the Quality Inn multiple times. It definitely feels as though they've let a lot of things go

It was not advertised that the pool was closed I had 2 children with me planning on the pool. Parking because of the pool construction very limited. Allot of the renovation in my room looked half done. There was a discolored bubbled up section in the ceiling over the toilet kind of worried me. For $237.00 per night I would have stayed somewhere else eve n if I had to pay more.

Ah, the joys of staying at an "historic" hotel! If you enjoy living in a time capsule from the last century, this place is a must-see. The property boasts charmingly dingy carpets that could double as a crime scene, and our bathroom featured a paint job so half-hearted, it might have been done by a toddler with a grudge. The exterior's artistic "weathered look" comes courtesy of stains and grime—truly a masterpiece of neglect.
As for the pool, don't get your hopes up. It's out of commission, because who would want to swim in the summer, right? A real head-scratcher there. For the price, I wasn't expecting the Ritz Carlton, but I also wasn't expecting a time-travel experience to the dark ages of hotel maintenance. Renovation? More like a resurrection is needed here.

You get what you pay for! Spend the extra and go to a bigger hotel or Airbnb in Helen. We arrived late and walked into a room that looked used and a mess. The lights and power did not work. Second room was a "renovated" room with a king. We needed a rollaway for our daughter. That mattress was absolutely gross. Took an hour to get sheets. Everything was dirty, dusty and just nasty. Luckily I had packed some wipes that I was able to use to clean everything from the vanity to the desk, the entire headboard which was covered in grease and handprints and full of caked on dust. I honestly think their cleaners ONLY changed the sheets and towels when turning rooms around. The little renos our room had was sub par. The pool is completely shut down and looks like a garbage dump pile. This place is an embarrassment for the town of Helen. I would NEVER stay again even if free. Our bill at the end was $90 anyways so for an extra $20 we could have had a room on the main street at a much higher rated hotel. Worst night ever. Unless you are completely drunk and don't care where you will sleep, eventhough I think the ground outside was cleaner then this place is for you.
