The rooms are huge and mine contained a well equipped kitchen.

Large suites that are comfortable but dated. Was perfectly located based on our meeting and the staff, though limited, was responsive and kind. Did not get restocks on my coffee during my stay which was disappointing even though I asked at front desk... But that was about the only concern I had

Very convenient location if you are attending the convention. slightly outdated with very poor internet connection. Room is large, bed is queen size and not as comfortable as high end hotels. However, for the price I paid, it was a great deal.

My wife and I were in town for the Nikki Minaj concert and easily found parking. Hotel was clean, staff was polite and friendly and very helpful with recommendations for food etc. we walked to the concert and back. The area was quiet and peaceful

Great luxury hotel!

The hotel itself was nice. The room was spacious. The bed on the other hand was atrocious. We automatically sank to the middle. The sofa bed was not an option as the bar was in our back.

Beautiful bathroom, highly appointed kitchen, safe location, good walk-ability.

Very well-maintained older hotel with personality! Comfortable bed, lots of kitchen amenities, and helpful front desk. Pull-out sofa bed was a little worn but couch was comfortable for third person.

This was a great bargain for the area, and I loved having a kitchen for my family. They cleaned the room well every day and my bed was comfortable. I didn't realize beforehand that the hotel does not have any parking. The lot used didn't feel safe and there was broken glass from break ins, but it was fine. The ac couldn't keep up with the heat so it stayed 76-78 in the suite the whole time, which was uncomfortable. The Internet also went in and out a lot. But again the bargain for the area was pretty amazing.

Conveniently located. Clean, nice mini apartment. Staff at the desk was very friendly. Comfortable bed , nice shower. Only negative was that we could not adjust the temperature in the unit

Spacious, clean but old couches. It is next to the convention center

Was told by the desk clerk, the parking lot was $40. The parking attending stated it was $60. We paid the fee, and the next morning, the front passenger side window was cracked. We were lucky, other car windows were totally either cracked or broken.

Overall, it was very good, but the furniture was very old

The staff at the hotel were beyond excellent. The hotel rooms are spacious, but perhaps a little date. There are amenities all around us, but not a lot here at the hotel. The ad advertises a business center, but it is one old computer.

Very close to the metro, convention center and near by restaurants. We will definitely come back. Very clean and quiet. Thank you!

My stay at the Elson was very nice. The ‘room’ was an attractive, modern, wood-paneled, apartment with a Livingroom/kitchen, an enclosed bathroom, and private bedroom with large closets. While I only made coffee in the Kitchen, I could imagine that for the so-inclined, the cooking meals in the room could be attractive.
The only complaint is that the WiFi was problematic. The directions in the room were incorrect. The woman at the front desk was super friendly and helpful as helped me login to the to the WiFi - I found the Wifi pretty slow and laggy.

Overall, I was happy with the accommodations. Very clean and the staff at the front desk were very helpful. The only issue I had was on the first day when I put the DND sign on my door and when I got back to my room that evening, the room had been cleaned by housekeeping. I mentioned it to the front desk and it never happened again. I would recommend this place to anyone.

The property is dated; almost comically so ("Wow! That's so 90's"). The bed was comfortable and it was moderately clean.
They do not allow early check in, so I had to change post flight in the (very small) first floor bathroom that had a shower curtain covering the door. There was no outlet, so I decided to skip doing my hair given I would have had to stand in the lobby to do it in the lobby mirror.
At checkout, it was unclear what to do - no one at the front desk despite calling out and searching for a few minutes. Finally saw a box that said, "Leave room key here" by the front door as a walked out.
Overall, more of a comical experience than a good one.

not a very nice lobby, building was old and reception area was very poor

I actually experienced something horrible and disgusting. The housekeeper left a hand towel our bathroom area with ejaculation excretion on it. Not something I thought I would ever experience during a hotel stay. I asked my husband to check the towel and he too confirmed what was on the towel. Gross.

I love everything about it no complaints

Great location, few minutes away from metro, grocery stores. Great and affordable restaurants nearby. Easy to reach from Union Train Station.
Courteous staff. Spacious, well equipped kitchen, large enough dining space, and living room for evening gatherings and meals.
Would highly recommend for families, couples.

Was there for one night. Liked the apartment style of the room. No TV in the bedroom. Was comfortable and clean.

My original review was rejected for profanity. There was no profanity.
The hotel smells overwhelmingly of air freshener. I believe this is a response to all the claims of smelling like mold. I had such a headache from the smell, I did not look for said mold.
There was a visible chunk of door missing where the lock was. It was painted over, and the receptionist insisted it was safe. The walls are shiny with orange coating. Don't look too closely, you will see the drip marks.
I would have left because of the smell alone, but it was one of those nights in DC when absolutely everything was booked. I was stuck paying over $500 for the most headache inducing eyesore. If this is your only choice like it was mine, just go home.

I was a bit surprised at the low quality of the floor plan and the the HVAC unit was very old and loud. The walls were also marked up. Not returning here.

Super close to convention center. Short walk.
Spacious. Could use a wall mirror outside of the bathroom for multiple women to get ready.

Great staff and location: the only problem was parking but there is public parking 5 minutes away that is relatively cheap.

It was a nice stay.

The building's air conditioning system wasn't working, and the entire building including the lobby was uncomfortably warm and muggy. Unpleasant in April. Would be absolutely horrible in summer. This shouldn't happen at these high prices. Would not stay here again.

Day time shift staff were very helpful. Early evening staff could use some more training on assisting visitors with basic info or guiding them to resources during their visits. The main day staff were great. Will stay again.

They failed to tell me that the hotel did not have air conditioning when I checked in, after turning on the AC at first arrival then heading out to meetings all evening, I returned to find out that my room was still showing a temp of 79 degrees at 11:30pm.....I was told the hotel was still in winter mode and the only thing I could do was get a fan. I left the hotel to find another place to stay at 11:30pm.
