Stay was great apart from the really loud noise coming from the next room (306). It started around 8pm and was still going this morning when we left at 10am. Rang reception at 12.50am to complain about it and the the man in reception wasn’t really interested in going to investigate what the noise was, and said the hotel was fully booked so we couldn’t be moved. Check in was quick the girl on the reception was friendly. Breakfast was good. Plenty to choose from.

I stay in the Ibis Barnsley regularly and have never had any problems. Unfortunately the last time guests had been vaping in rooms and corridors and the smell was overwhelming and very unpleasant. This has never happened before in previous visits. I just wanted to make you aware of this incident.

Great room, super friendly staff. Thank you

Meals were very poor quality even though it is a budget hotel.
Room keys rarely worked necessitating a trip down to reception. Annoyingly, the hotel was aware of the key problem but nothing was being done about it.

A comfortable enough hotel. The mattress was very hard, but I slept well enough. The lobby and bar/restaurant were nicely air conditioned for mid july. Sadly this did not extend to the rooms.
The buffet breakfast was very good with everything cooked fresh. On the first night there was a busload of tourists who went through the buffet like a plague of locusts, but the kitchen did manage to keep up with little waiting time.

Very good for the price. Stayed for one night to break the drive from Newcastle to London. Some bathroom tiles need to be re-grouted but I would certainly stay again.
The staff were very welcoming & friendly.

Was not made aware the Toby Carvey was closed. Restaurant in hotel fully booked. Fire Alarm was faulty. Alarm was continually beeping ribht outside my room due to a fault. Receptionist came at 21.30 approx to inform me it wasn't going to be sorted for approx 2,5 hours. Offered to change my room which I accepted. This was a stressful overnight stay for me initially as I was attending a dear friends funeral the following day& the whole situation was unbelievable.

Checked in around 10pm, got the lift to the first floor to be met with a party in the corridor. Stepped over these people as they were blocking our way, for them to shout “are you here for the swingers party” to my partner and I. Couldn’t settle in the room as the mid 30 year olds felt a need to run up and down corridors to slam doors …….not a great way to try and get some sleep.
Hotel staff couldn’t control this despite numerous times telling guests to be quiet.

Great stay while visiting family, friendly staff, no problem too small. Happy to allow delivery good in your room, they even supply cutlery. Would highly recommend

Reception and staff are first class, food is dreadful microwave junk. Walk 20 metres to the carvery next door.
Lovely staff on reception and great welcome and the room is clean and functional. Barstaff were also great, but the food was a disgrace.
With 6 people in the bar an restaurant it was neither busy or offering complex food. How hard is it to heat up pasta in a microwave. Food took ages and was dry and cold when some arrived. Sent back to be 'remade' as I was informed, the same plates came back again having undergone a few more minutes in the microwave. Adding to the plates dryness, it was inedible. Yuk.

Amazing staff can’t do enough for you, great pint of Guinness too

Basic Ibis hotel. The building and rooms do what they are supposed to. The menu looks good but ordering food is difficult. The whole front of house is often deserted and the staff disappear for long periods. On both nights of my stay I searched around for anyone to serve for about twenty minutes before giving up and heading to the carvery over the car park.

Room was lovely decorated abd really comfy. My only criticism would be that we were above the fans for the hotel and i could hear them turning all night.

We were only in for one night but it's right next to the motorway, food was ok , but dinning room was cold and very big and open. Very handy that there's a Toby carvery right next to it.
Would definitely stay here again.

Wasn’t expecting in having to pay extra for my small dog to stay. Nothing told me this when I booked. Only thing mentioned was that it was pet friendly.
The decor in the room was below what I’d expect of an Ibis, the cube footstool was disgusting, really dirty and very tatty looking.
The toilet roll was so cheap it literally fell apart. Wasn’t what I’d expect from any hotel

We were given a quiet room when we checked in and we had a lovely nights sleep. We were having two nights away from our local home after having a lot of dusty, noisy work done. Ibis provided a little oasis of escape so thank you.

Pleasantly surprised at this one. Clean, modern, nice staff, comfortable. Slept well (rare for me). Great to have a carvery next door.

No fuss comfortable room, poor mobile phone signal but reception staff helpfully pointed out where the best reception was available! Free parking much appreciated

Stayed for one night as we were meeting family. Discovered that any family members that came to the hotel would have to register their cars or risk a fine.
Bed was very hard! Not the best sleep in a hotel.
Breakfast at 10am considering it didn’t close till 11am there was very little available. No juice as this had run out and no one replaced.
Hotel manager looked scared to death when anyone approached, we actively got the impression of “don’t speak to me” from the look and burning her head into her computer.
Cheap hotel but don’t expect anything magnificent.
